  • 0:45 Your Fucked Mate!

  • POW. Right in the kisser.

  • Jorah is so cool and his voice is epic

  • Keep smiling little boy! XD

*Additional Notes* Did you guys see that Jorah and Joker start with "Jo" and they both put smiles to many faces? Coincidence much?

  • @TheMysteriousSatan Did you notice that "Santa" and "Samwell" both start with "Sa" and that both are fat? Coincidence much?

  • But... But... He had a curved sword. CURVED. SWORD.

  • ...and suddenly his sword is clean, or he puts bloody, dirty sword into scabbard!

  • 1 horse lord went too far and disliked this video....

  • there are definitely a lot of khals. khal pono, khal jhoqo... i forgot the other ones. Of course, some khals are aging too, they will get challenged and replaced by more younger and stronger khals. a khal who cannot ride cannot be a khal. there is no succession here. the strongest wins. its like living with the lions.

  • Thats why you wear Chain ARMOR

  • "Put on the whole ARMOUR of GOD that ye may be able to stand against the tactics of the Devil." Ephesians Chapter 6 . . a perfect example of that scripture eh Ser Jorah?

  • @AuburnDetroitTiger No, not a perfect example of that scripture. Qotho was actually doing the right thing and Dany and Jorah did not know it.

  • i dont understand the dothraki are very feared in the books by even the free cities. if they wear a lot of armor, how do the dothraki beat them???

  • @AFGalwayz

Because not every man of the free cities is as good fighter as Ser Jorah. Also, their soldiers are Unsullied, who I think don't wear heavy armor neither, and sellswords who are expensive and unpredictable.

  • @MorbidAngelOfSorrow yea i just rechecked and found out that the unsullied done wear a lot of armor. it would make sense. i use to think that the dothraki were like the huns/mongols but they dont seem to use the bow at all which is strange for nomadic peoples who rely on horses.

  • @AFGalwayz

Well, then I guess that they strenght is also in their numbers. Every bigger khalasar has more riders than any of the free cities has Unsullied. They may hide behind the city walls, leaving everything around for dothraki to rob and destroy. On the open field, the dothraki are invincible. They fight on horses, which I think we can't say for the Unsullied. They could wear the tons of armor, but dothraki would just crush them on open field.

  • @MorbidAngelOfSorrow i agree but i dont think their tactics or even weaponry beyond arakh are properly explained. if their going into battle without shirts and are on horseback with arakhs armored cavalry would give them a lot of problems as would armored pikemen. in real life historically, horse nomads were masters of the bow and were usually horse archers. like the huns and mongols and parthians.

  • @MorbidAngelOfSorrow

If I remember correctly, the Dothraki considers anyone unhorsed as inferior and deserves to be rode down. When ever a fight with the Unsullied happen the Dothraki charged head on into the pikes and suffer heavy casualties due to their pride, instead of simply circling and firing arrows at their ranks or attacking from the flanks.

  • @AFGalwayz

Numbers+Brutality+Horses. An average armored knight may win against 3-4 Dothraki at a time but when you are up against tens of thousands of raging riders with a hard-on for war, you're in for a hard time.

  • @leinad667 then they are pretty meh. armies in essos in general are pretty meh for being bullied around by them.

  • When Jorah speaks Dothraki it sounds so nice.

  • GO GET THE BREAST PLATE STRETCHER!!! thumbs up if you remember that part lol

  • Why is his sword not bloody at the end?

  • @luisfcdarcadia His sword didn't make enough contact time for it to be covered in blood.

It's like, very quickly stabbing a thin needle into your arm or leg. It won't be covered in blood, but the wound will bleed.

If you stick it in and leave it, it will have some blood on it.

This was a very quick swipe, not a thrust into his body, it's like hitting and splitting a man's head open with a mace, bloody result, but a mace is slower so gets blood on it, and actually needs to contact for longer.

  • Mormont's voice is epic.

  • Back Hand Bitch!!

  • Didn't see Mormont's ear get chopped...

  • "Put on the Whole Armor of GOD that ye may be able to stand against the strategies of the devil." Ephesians Chapter 6 . .. that is what that is what this clip reminds me of.

  • please make khal drogo come back !!!!! do some sorta spell and let him rise from his ashes !!!

  • Plate imba ;)

  • That's why you wear a Breastplate

  • Thats my friends is ser Jorah Mormont

  • Despite having relatively less screentime than many of the other characters, Jorah certainly has one of the more complete journeys in terms of his character.

In the start he was merely a spy for Westeros, keeping people informed of Viserys and his sister. Then, over the course of the first season he truly becomes thier ally and is now standing to defend them and their interests.

Only tiem will tell if his former alliegences will come back to haunt him. But for now, way to go Jorah!

  • even after reading all the books mormonts still on of my most favorite characters

  • Oh wait, you mean a light slash of a sword doesn't just cut through plate armor like in every other medieval TV show? Love Ser Jorah Mormont, played perfectly by Iain Glen. One of my favorite characters, which means he'll be dead soon....hahahaha

  • Not a single drop of blood on the sword, LOL.

  • the one time a suit of armor actually works lol

  • @squall600 This is was a common use for armor. Something a lot of people don't know is that there were schools of combat in medieval Europe with just as much technique and detail as we normally think of only in Asian martial arts. There were extensive diagrams filled with hundreds of pages of sword strikes where the wielder would hold the blade near the guard with their hand almost like wielding a staff for instance. But most of these books were lost.

  • That armor is too strong for blasters.

  • Apparently that guy who gets killed (Mogo?) is going to become important in the next book (winds of winter). George RR Martin told the show writers that he will become important but they killed him off anyway.. I think he might become a POV character. Would be great to go in to a Dothraki chapter..

  • @LionOfCasterlyRock Well this Dothraki is Qotho, and he dies in the books too. The Dothraki that Drogo killed is Mago, who lives in the books, and the rest is as you said.

  • @chaoticgreece Didn't George change the character of importance to Jhogo, after the show did Mogo

  • @sunspearmartell Jhogo is Daenerys's bloodrider. In the books, Mago becomes Jhago's bloodrider.

  • @chaoticgreece so then, who will she meet at the end of Dance?

  • @LionOfCasterlyRock Great, more POV chapters. I thought Martin said there weren't going to be any more.

Either way, even if he's dead Martin will just bring him back. Over the course of the past two (awful) books death has come to mean nothing.

  • @melosebrainuhoh There will be no new PoV characters except for Prologue and Epilogue characters (who always die promptly). Mago will probably show up in The Winds of Winter as a villain along with J'hoqo. J'hoqo will probably occupy that role alone IF the show makes it that far.

  • @LionOfCasterlyRock actually, I think Martin has said there will be no new POV characters (besides prologue/epilogue), but yeah he's going to be important

  • @LionOfCasterlyRock GRRM said he will not add anymore POV-s.... so the only moment Mogo could be a POV is in a prologue or epilogue... where, we all know, the POV dies :)

  • @LionOfCasterlyRock It's Qotho, dood.

  • @LionOfCasterlyRock I think I remember reading that no more POV characters were going to be added beyond A Dance With Dragons, maybe he could be a prologue/epilogue character.

  • @LionOfCasterlyRock no, he won't be a pov. grrm has said there will be no more povs after dance.

  • @4LackOfaBetterNam3 It could be Prologue or epilogue chapter, though that means he's going to die by the end of it so they can probably just make up a small character to fill the gap

  • @LionOfCasterlyRock Yeah Mago fights for one of Drogo's old Bloodriders

  • @LionOfCasterlyRock I don't think he will be POV character, as far as I know, Martin said that he won't be adding any new POV characters to the Winds, except maybe Prologue and Epilogue. And even if so, directors will probably just give him another face and name... if they're able to name Asha Greyjoy Yara, they're capable of just about anything....

  • They take their women from behind

  • tom, tom disliked

  • Who disliked?!

  • @BuckeyeStudent The actor that got cut down.

  • Sexy

  • Ser Jorah = Shit version of Ser Barristan with brown hair

  • @Markieee123 I like him as the tragic figure that he is :) no one matches ser barristan though

  • @gumblebroo yeah he's a good charecter in the latest book I suppose, but ser barristan is boss

  • @gumblebroo him and Sandor Clegane

  • Finnaly! a serie were armor does something!

  • I think it's funny that the Dothraki nicked Jorah in the face at the beginning of the fight. He could've killed him and didn't. Then Jorah opened his face.

  • he forgot to cut off his hair

  • Khal Drogo disliked this video(You realize that if Qotho went in there and slayed the witch he might have lived!)

  • @veldross1 ?? have you read the books or watched the show? Drogo would have died if he went in there and stopped her

  • @veldross1 Wasn't Drogo almost dead already because of an infected wound?

  • alah sheveshe hahahahahaahaaha

  • if he catches your sword fucking let go of it genius

  • what the fuck is going on in that tent?!?!?

  • @SporkTsar Witchcraft.

  • Backhand that bitch, Jorah!

  • Wonder if he would have caught Caggo Corpsekiller´s arakh as easily.

  • curved Swords ?? So the dothraki are supposed to be just like the MAURS in real life back in the middle ages? For those who dont know the MAURS are today's Moroccans.

  • Mormont's one handed and heavy armor = 100

  • @TheMarinowski but he's not wearing the full set, so he still gets staggered and takes more damage...

  • @TheMarinowski Skyrim reference? XD

  • @TheMarinowski Put Jorah in a wargame and everyone will collect a Dothraki army just for him

  • Brutal!

  • that monster singing is so creepy!

  • god this fukin wait i keep ending up in a song of ice and fire wiki and read spoilers shit

  • @killzonephx read the books, they are fabulous.

  • benefits of metal armor horse-lord.

  • Lets put a smile on face!

  • why armour was created...

  • Blood Dk vs rogue

  • Armour that works? Egads man!

  • It looks as though he just got a one-sided Glasgow Smile (think Joker's scars, if you don't know what that is). Can't see the spine, though, so maybe Jorah did hit it.

Did this actually kill him in the books? I assume he's dead in both the books and show, but is that the case?

  • Jorah Mormont is definatly one of the best characters in the show.

  • I don't get it. Didn't Varys say that Jorah was actually working for him? why does he start protecting Dany?

  • @Theriot6592 Change of heart. Dany reminds him of his old lover.

  • @Theriot6592 Probably a case of: "He likes Dany more than her brother".

He probably secretly loves her too.....it would make sense.

  • @Theriot6592 Varys isn't threatened by the Targaryen, and he doesn't have a strong loyalty to anyone but himself. Dany is an ace in the hole : if he can help her, he'll rise socially, if he fail he trusts he'll be able to hide it.

  • What a great scene, so unexpected, such a good series.

  • Really glad they made the armor useful.

In most shows you'll see hundreds of men covered in plate mail from head to toe, but it gets cut though like rice paper.

  • Daenarys does pretty much shit all in clash of kings which is disappointing. But the trailer looks soooo good

  • @MrOwen2012 I'm reading the book right now. She's only in a few chapters; I was expecting to see her more, she's one of the more interesting characters.

  • Those Dothraki have curved swords. CURVED SWORDS!

  • @ornjoos Skyrim lolz!

  • @ornjoos yeah.. for all the good it did that guy..

  • @ornjoos ... and?

  • @ornjoos so what, its called a scimitar :)

  • @ornjoos Yes, and Ser Jorah Mormont's sword, that just killed a man has no blood on it. Hhhmmmmmm.

  • @eclecticsteph : He quickly sliced him. Maybe if he stabbed him, it would have blood on it. Just my thinking.

  • @eclecticsteph LOL looks like Narnia swords, when ppl chop off heads and shit, and the swords clean and shiny!

  • People always say that armor makes one slow, but in fact it does not. I've seen a lot of guys who were just as fast in their plates as without them. The real problem is that it tires you quickly enough. The horseguy could have used it the same as Bronn did if he just wasn't so arrogant.

  • I hate them... That Lowlife Bitch Khaleesi and Double Agent Mormont...

Their heads should have cut off, right there, by The BloodRiders.

That's what they deserve, since "the reveal of their true intention", near the end of the episode 4.

  • @UnionLords what reveal was that? they didnt do so much the first half of the season

  • @UnionLords Actually I hope they turn the 7 realms into a big sea of flames... Since most good guys are dead in... Oops

  • @Killtor448 Chill with the spoilers.

  • Comment removed

  • Is the armor heavy? Wouldn't it make them slow?

  • @JP8940

Armor isn't that heavy, especially if you're conditioned to fight in it. The trade-off in protection is much, much more than armor's limit on using your agility .

  • @JP8940 Full metal armor like what's shown in the clip is generally made so that its weight is spread around the entirety of the warrior's torso. This means that he's capable of moving and doing acrobatics - maybe not quite as deftly or as easily as a person without armor, but they're not reduced to slow-walking iron slabs either. There are youtube videos of people in full metal armor doing cartwheels and recovering from dehorsings if you'd care to search for them.

  • @chipmunx Jorah has a some kind of leg or knee injury and is often limping about so that would rule out acrobatits armour or no

  • @S0m3On33l53 Yeah, Jorah'd be hard-pressed to do a cartwheel even naked, this is true

  • Got to love plate versus slashing weapons.

  • that's why he wears armor :)

  • Jorah is like Obi-Wan

  • It's such a shame that Ser Jorah turned out to be a complete asshole when he visited Downton Abbey.

  • he is defineley wearing steal plate armour from skyrim

  • @xXMassGamingXx more like skyrim tried to be Ser Jorah

  • i wish that people doing action parts would take the time to look up how a longsword is used *sigh* i believe LOTR is the only movie i've seen that actually at times the actors use the long sword correctly over 1/2 the attacks are done with a back-edge slash never seen in movies not to mention the stances they do are all wrong.....i guess at least in this the armor didn't part like butter

  • @Antioxidantt Well one could argue that as this is a different world, their sword fighting techniques are rather different from out own.

  • I know what he thinks at 0:46 ... "...Crap."

  • One of the rare moment in movies/cartoons/books where armor actually does something.

  • Ok, people who don;t recall Jorah had that advantage. An arakh as the horse-lords blade is called is great against an unarmored opponent but almost useless and against and will hardlyu ever get through plate. Jorah is also a superb fighter.

  • @negima3210 yes but keep in mind, he is slow in the plate, if his defenses wear out his head would be rolling. Nonetheless, i think Jorah had the discipline

  • crap why he didn't have blood on his sword when he slashed his face?

  • Without that armour Qotho would have eviscerated Jorah. But, then again, that's how Jorah learned to fight, so Qotho should have fought smarter.

  • @Ristaron In the books, it's said that the Dothraki gave Jorah a place of considerable honour during their feats because of their respect for his fighting prowess.

  • Why he didnt wear helmet? Becasue if he does this bloody savege would dont have a chance.

  • @VictorV7PL In that heat he would probably cook underneath all that steel. He must have been already boiling there.

  • armor is hax

  • Armor wins.

  • bitch slapped with a broad sword mofaka!

  • I once fought dothrakis like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

On another note, he instakills him with a hit on the cheek and the sword isnt even bloody...

  • @DrAEnigmatic lol those look like heavy swords.. im sure a hit like that could break your neck easily

  • Just 4 more months till season 2, the wait is unbearable.

  • @hazeddon GAH! I KNOW!

  • @hazeddon

At least the next season is scheduled. I'm waiting for the next book, and there's no telling when that will come out.

  • @AngryWeaselShanatos lol yea I heard the hommie takes his sweet sweet time between books. Oh well, hopefully the fact that its a tv show now will make him more consistent with his book releases(there are two left amirite?)

  • Hey bro, this is called armor. It stops blades. Bye now.

  • Now this is what you can call "Tanking"...

  • The armour actually succeeding in helping the wearer; wow, Game of Thrones has so much common sense and reality in every scene.

  • @OutswingingYorker Or not helping in Ser Vardis's case, as it just slowed and fatigued him. But I suppose it depends how good you are at using it.

  • @OutswingingYorker But why isn't he wearing a helmet? Qotho could've killed him had he not missed :O

  • @Venethor Hold on, let me just call up Jorah and ask him ;P Jokes aside, he either did not wear it because he did not have it, or because he had to get ready quickly, or because he prefers fighting without a helmet.

When Jaime ambushed Ned, he was not wearing a helmet either despite being fully prepared (even if the two didn't cross blades in the book).

  • @OutswingingYorker That makes it a very BAD show! Nah, kidding. Never seen anything better than this :D

  • @OutswingingYorker

I loved this scene for that reason, and also because it was a nice callback to Jorah's earlier discussion about weapons and armor.

  • @AngryWeaselShanatos Yep. GoT is brilliant. I think it's the British touch that makes it awesome.

  • @OutswingingYorker First time in any kind of movie or television ever!

  • @OutswingingYorker arhm... in truth ... in the book the blade cut trough armor and get stuck in the bone. That flank bone, just below wirst level. Ouchy! I like it better as it is here By The Way

  • @Scarletraven87 My point was how sensible both book AND TV show are. Besides, not like armour never gets penetrated :B

  • @OutswingingYorker

Yeah, earlier in the show, Jorah and Dany's bodyguard have a conversation where they compare weapons. The Dothraki blades are faster and put more weight into a swing, but the lack of a pointed tip renders it ineffectual against an armoured foe, due to it's inability to pierce through metal. Dany's guard says that armour slows you down, but Jorah rebuts that the speed to durability trade off is worth it.

  • @Apollomasque Had the exact same epiphany when I saw this too :D

Then I realized that it would make sense for the TV adaptation not to have Dothraki just invade like that, as they would be facing the exact same armoured foes, thus rendering their invasion a complete failure.

  • @unifieddynasty

Nah, the Dothraki are fierce fighters and there's a hell of a lot of them. King Baratheon said it himself, that numbers would dwarf their troops and that if the Horse Lords ever crossed the Narrow Sea, they'd win a fight eventually, either by slaughtering any in their way or by attrition. That's why Baratheon wanted Dany killed, to rob them of reason to invade.

  • @Scarletraven87 True, but in the book Qotho actually hits him quite a few times before that, but the armour stops all of them. The last time Jorah gets hit is in the spot in the hip where the armour is already broken from a previous hit there. Qotho is a really good fighter.

  • @OutswingingYorker Really!

  • Taking it like a man.

  • Clash of Kings is never going to be this cool.

  • @SurfaceCollison Are u kidding, Clash of kings was awesome. And was better than game of thrones, second part is pure imo.

  • @Danik0301987 Are you kidding, Clash of Kings was mostly talking, no cool duels like this and they don't reveal much of the Westeros as Game of Thrones.

  • @SurfaceCollison Arya's and Jaqen was great, more Tyrion, as for duels Maid of Tarth vs. Knight of Flowers, Snow vs. Wildlings, Snow vs. Halfhand, plus more dragons (granted they are small yet, but there will be atleast some face melting):)

  • @Danik0301987 I know where your coming from, but Brienne vs. Loras was a joust and Jon will always win in duels if it's against wildings. While in this you have

    Jorah vs Qotho

    Bronn vs Ser Vardis

    Eddard vs Jaime

    Khal Drogo vs miscellaneous Dothraki

    Sandor Clegane vs Gregor Clegane

    Syrio Forel vs Knights Guard

    Loras vs Gregor Clegane

    Jon Snow vs White Walker

Thats a tough line up, right there.

  • @SurfaceCollison Well i didnt argue that it will have less duel, my point was there will be plenty of action in Clash of Kings, and it will be very interesting, overal. Again, i liked Clash of kings more than game of thrones, but thats my personal opinion.

  • I never usually write this since I think it`s overused but i can`t let this one slip: Qotho disliked this.

  • Jorah is a beast but in book 3 Ser Barristan (in disguise as Arstan Whitebeard) kills the Titan's Bastard with a wooden staff, now THAT is gonna be bad ass!
