Big L, Method man, redman, wu tang clan and mobb deep rap about gangster rap, and gangster rap came from the West coast. West coast has Cypress Hill, NWA, Compton's Most Wanted, and Tha Dogg Pound. Snoop dogg, Eazy e, MC Eiht, DJ quik, Yukmouth etc. Biggie is better than 2pac lyrically? To me that only an opinion.

It's a different kind of gangster - West Coast is gangster rap is more based from LA gangs (bloods/crips) - East Coast gangsta rap is more based on individual thug activities (robbery, stick ups) or just crazy wild sht like Onyx raps about.
