  • good album this one.

  • Joy Division and OMD were out at the same time and played in the same club "Erics" in Liverpool. Most people don't know that the Bands in liverpool shared keyboards and other equipment. Andy McCluskey and Ian Curtis knew eachother from that scene. There is a song that Andy wrote and included a few lyrics for Ian.

  • Dazzling as Wardworth was wont to vorticise.....:-)))

  • Two people who disliked need to keep silent and keep running from top choice tunes like this. melodic and ethereal. it need not be poisoned by those who just dont know, or who werent there in this era. my 80's, come back.

  • early OMD, brilliant! to bad about some of the commercial pop stuff.

  • God only knows....yeah yeah

  • I remember being in kindergarten and hearing this album for the 1st time. I had so many times as kid that these songs hit emotions in me that I was only first experiencing. When I would have troubles these songs soothed me and even today it takes me back to being young again. How many musicians can do that?

  • la portada del disco lo dice todo

  • Sweet,brilliant...amazing..

  • damm it, this song is beatifull. Is a shame I can not turn back the time.

  • I just love it!!! Thank you x

    Oh good times! :)

  • A fantastic hidden gem...

  • Look up "The Listening Pool". Great style - Much later work but still the same Genius.

  • loved them this way! why they stopped is beyond me.

  • One of my favorite OMD songs. By the way: The synthesizer in halfspeed and backwards is also known as "66 And Fading" (B-Side of "Telegraph").

  • "me the dream , I finally have a CD - Dazzle ships 27 years ago I listened to the tapes , a wonderful time"

  • One of my favourite OMD songs

  • This is perfect music!

  • So glad I have this vinyl, though mine is in shades of green not blue..........very glad they took the chance of this album flopping, which it did....

  • @etherealheigh This is the booklet cover of the first "Dazzle Ships" CD edition. If I remember right, it was the first OMD-CD ever released.

  • I love this song so much...........I love it

  • ANDY MAC ...LOVED IAN CURTIS..END OF.....RIP

  • This is a fucking masterpiece.,,,possibly on of their best songs

  • Atmospheric masterpiece

  • el mejor album de O.M.D.

  • Algo tiene Dazzle Ships que no tiene ningún otro álbum de OMD.

    Genial!

  • My absolute favourite OMD album, I still have the cassette, but it no longer plays as it snapped many years ago..Andy I still love you!!

  • Wow, the similarity to Ian Curtis is spooky. Joy Division was such a great band. It's cool to hear other bands write music in that style.

  • @WS102 I totally agree. The bands had played together before Ian Curtis committed suicide and OMD recorded the song "Statues" is a tribute to Ian.

  • @WS102 'write'? Try 'written'. This album was released in '83

  • He says quite a lot for a song that is supposed to be silent running hee hee. The remastered "Dazzle Ships" CD is superb, but cannot beat listening to original vinyl it is special.

  • the staple sound of the 80's right here folks.

    love those old analogs!

  • cool, cool, cool love the way the drums and synths mix in together

  • brillian song!

  • think nice too! OMD has been realized a lot of well done experience about music. I didn't heard whole LP but suppose it contains some known trax..anyway : They'd recorded many excellent clips I've been watching until now!

  • The best OMD song.

  • Loving it

  • OMD superb

  • Never heard this, it's excellent, reminds me of Joy Division and Ian Curtis.

  • oh yes i agree-ian curtis, his voice lives. OMD did do their staple sound also.

  • OMD the soundtrack of my teenage years.

Love all your OMD posts beamergeezer thanks for the trip down memory lane.

  • brilliant tune.love it.

  • Wow.

The Dazzle Ships are COMING HOME!!

This song has inspired me for decades.

I friggin' KNOW what this song means.

    I lived it.

    I'm still living it.

  • what does it mean? i'm going to see them next month in London

  • when you have finished falling in love,

    you're IN love

    in deep

    like very deep dark water

    in for the long haul

    running silent

    weightless like walking on air

not many songs deal with the unique emotional state of those who have FINISHED falling in love and know they will never come out of it again

  • The best song from Dazzle Ships.

  • Yes, this is my favourite song by them from the album.

  • THANK YOU!
