  • this choir is orgasmic.

  • I have just finished singing this on the weekend and I am still in awe of the composer. The Agnus Dei moved me the most, and the the part where the soprano crescendos off echoing the chorus in "they rest from their labours". I am totally gobsmacked!

  • My school choir sang this piece two nights ago. Absolutely astounding piece!

  • My school performed Requiem last night, with the orchestra, and chorus and everything. It was my first performance in high school. It was probably the most magical moment of my life so far. The piece is just beautiful, and the recording doesn't do justice to its true beauty. With this movement, specifically, my friends and I created a joke, singing, "Angus burger! Angus Burger! With extra mushrooms!" Although funny, the real movement is astounding.

  • This movement is just amazing!

  • yhu can hear the music twirling!! thats the point of these pieces that makes them so beautiful also the choir is so in tune with each other whioch makes it even more beautiful!! i love John Rutter's music especially when i sang it in High School

  • I remember doing this in high school. This was my favorite movement along with Lux Aeterna. It's been 20 years and I'm sitting here singing the alto part verbatim! It's something you NEVER forget...

  • We're singing the entire Requiem peice for my skool choir, nd this is my favorite peice,,nd i luv how this choir sings it

  • @dwnfrst I sang this in high school too. Had a profound effect on me.

  • @dwnfrst i like being able to spell

  • @TheLovemonster8 nd i like writing however i want :)

  • Can't say I'm very hot on some of the diction choices, but this is wonderful

  • @imwithoutwax yes, and the diction is really important with Rutter. Melodically not that difficult but pronunciation and timbre have to be spot on.

  • Such a grand piece, in such an intimate setting, with limited resources. It's powerful in it's intimacy! Brilliant! So touching! THANKS FOR POSTING!!!

  • i have to conduct this for a conducting final. Dramatic! I like it.

  • I like this piece. It displays the myriad of a emotions that one can go through in life. As a Christian, sometimes I'm feeling depressed, yet I have hope in Jesus. This piece displays that.

  • this is so beautifullly erriey. i absolutley love this piece!

  • the driving force of this whole movement, is the Timpani, this section full of dispare and hope at the same time... a roller coaster for me personally sorry from rambling

  • I completely agree. The Timpani is what makes this piece what it is.

  • Haha. I get to sing requiem with my choir on monday. I'm excited.

  • This is probably my favorite movement of the whole thing. Gives me shivers ^_^

  • I love this choir so much. They're so amazing. I can't stop listening. Thanks for posting the videos up here!!

  • I love this. I'm a terrible singer myself, so my natural bias against choral arrangements tends to cause me to overlook gems such as this.

  • and I like it slow like this. Very brave to do that, and it paid off.

  • God I love this. This is easily my favorite choral piece of all time. Guys, such a haunting performance. I love it. Thank you.
