Allman Brothers w/Southside Johnny, Beacon Theater

There's a great story about Bruce and Johnny, after they put a band together, opening for the Allman Brothers in 1971. Johnny said they had about 30 people in the band and it was a nutty show and Gregg and Duane were standing off stage looking at each other like what's up with this. But Duane was also following them on guitar and teaching Steve Van Zandt how to play slide. At the end of the show they talked about playing again but Duane's death ended that dream.

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes having been putting on the greatest live shows for over 30 years now. Seeing Southside and his horn section with the great Allman Brothers Band

is awesome.
