as a person who is sheet-music reliant for a long while, I don't even know where to begin when trying to learn my musical theory. It just confuses the hell out of me hearing people explain stuff like this; I have basic knowledge of reading music, but my understanding doesn't go much beyond basic major/minor scale shapes and notation.
Awesome. I typically just change the key of the progression to change the color. I've tried, unsuccessfully to get the different feels out of the same key. Thanks Andrew
I thought that F minor bit you played sounded familiar...Help on the Way by Grateful Dead :). I guess they sound similar because they're both in F Minor!
Andrew nice video. I subscribe just because I like listening and watching you play. I piddle a little with guitar and it's been a while since I picked it up. My hat is off to you buddy you are an example of what one can do if they put in the time and effort. Your awesome!!!! Thanks and keep posting!!!!!
i'm a beginner and i don't have a clue what he's talking about but ya never know which tidbit might stick with you and the guy is awesome! thanks andrew.
@ke215 you can run it through a midi processor such as a roland gr-20, or the axon 100 (just some examples for you to search theres a great vid on the gr-20 somewhere). and this enables you to make your guitar sound like different instruments.
@ke215 like dwmcm1 said, its a device that allows you to play guitar and control midi devices such as keyboards and synths. its really good if your not good at playing piano and still want to play synth, you can just play guitar and it controls the synth.

I have always had trouble with this concept as well.
That was an excellent question by Douglas and an excellent video answer by you.
Very informative as always!

@ke215 Hi. The thing on the body of the guitar that has a small cable that sits under the strings next to the bridge?
Ive seen those in a magazine I have here, 1 moment i'll find it...
It's a type of pickup used for Synth/MIDI. What exactly that is I'm not sure!
Looks like the same one in my magazine, it's called a "GK-3" and it's made by Roland.
Hope this helps a little at least!
