The first spanish-pop (as well as Knock Three Times) to hit english radio. Love those ballads. Now all the Latino music is dance stuff. Was this before Freddy Fender and Wasted Days and Wasted Nights? Oh yeah,and Before the First Teardrop Falls (with spanish lyrics!). I don't speak much spanish but I always loved listening to the Spanish lyrics in that song!

used to listen to this as a very young boy...prob 5yrs old when this came out and I would be playing away whilst my mother's Philips radio played hit after hit and the odd melodious tune caught my young ears and I have never fogotten any of these lovely timeless songs...thank you for posting bro

When I was in 7th grade ( 1973) me and some of my friends would go roller skating, and this was a song that they played 2 or 3 times a night. Great song and great momories :).

On my 12 th birthday 10/18/71 I received this Album a day after my favorite baseball team, the Pittsburgh Pirates won the world series and will be forever linked with Steve Blass jumping into Bob Robertson's arms after the final out. Now seeing that the Pirates are finally once again playing good baseball I reached back and snatched a very special memory in my childhood : )

@Wagneryan I was a tad off on my comment about 'candide.' As in Spanish, Escondido means that which is hidden, anything that is 'candide' is open, revealed, and NOT hidden. Encountering that kind of woman would indeed by unexpected & surprising, however.

Wow, this is one of my all time favorites! I remember I was seven years old, and was completely in love with Joyce. A couple of times I told my mom I was running away to be with her.
