I'd say KotBS is either a cleric, or cleric/pally hybrid. Just look at his weapons, his skills, and c'mon, "knight of the BLAZING SUN" seems pretty holy/righteous to me :P

KotbS are nothing like paladins. As another poster said, Warrior Priests are Order's "paladins".

You're totally correct. I fully respect your opinion. The real point I was trying to make is... where is the real Holy Knight of God Paladin in online gaming these days? Not since EQ1 have I played a Pally with powers that the evil undead would totally fear. Where are the 2 handed swords with a devastating undead 'proc'? I think we can all agree that the KotBS is a pious, fighting herald like character.  The feeling this class illicits is more Pally than straight up Warrior

Ok look people. It all depends on who's paradigm for the Pally that you use. WoW has changed the concept of what a cleric and a paladin are. Traditionally in RPG'ing, even the dice-rolling kind, Paladins used swords. Typically a 2 hander with no shield. Clerics used bludgeoning weapons and wore full plate. Pally 75% warrior, 25%healer, and the cleric was the other way around. traditionally. the WP "traditionally" is more like a cleric.

I agree i noticed it on the tank class with the dark elves too who i expected to be more like a shield-wielding DK in format.

I am fully against warriors of any kind using a throwing dagger, it's cowardly, one handed maces or two handed sword are definately the way to go.

In the Lore Knights of the Blazing sun aren't religious types, that's warrior priests. They're more like armoured knights of the medieval period.

I love these basic movies you're posting! As for the battle over the Cleric and Paladin, I'm assuming none of you play Dungeons and Dragons. Clerics are often seen as wearing heavy armor, often heavier than Paladins. Clerics often prefer maces, and Paladins use swords.

THANK you! thank you for posting that. It's true in EQ1 and it is ALSO true among catholic clerics of France, England and Germany. Fighting Priests Often went about with maces, and in full robes, blessing and bludgeoning saints and sinners.

I think warrior priests are the paladin type class in WAR. The signature Mace weapons with librams and healing abilities.

Well the warrior priest wears heavy armor and most of them clerics are light armored fighters. Also the knight of the blazing sun has no real healing powers which is essential to what makes a paladin. Also maces and librams have always been synonymous with paladins and they're the only weapons WP's can use. I see Kotbs as more of a human kight than a paladin.

Maces have have always been the weapon of choice for clerics. also clerics in RPGs typically wear plate.

As far as the KotBS is concerned, I was talking about the storyline of the Knight. The storyline of KotBS is synonymous with that of a paladin.

Bottom line is.. Paladins typically use swords, and clerics typically use maces. Paladins are typically 75% warrior and 25% healer. Clerics are typically 75% healer and 25% warrior.

The KofBS is a Tank with a Pally storyline.

Maces are the choice weapon of any follower of the light, that's including paladins. And in no game or book I have ever seen did clerics wear heavy armor. Clerics are pretty much a priest/caster class who wear light armor and stay out of close combat. That doesn't describe a pally and certainly not a warrior priest. And by your own standard a KotBS would have to at least be a 25% healer, of which they are not even close to. A dps warrior priest falls somewhere in that area but not a KotBS.

And to say that a KotBS is a pally because their background story is a righteous one is to say that the only beings in the entire WAR universe that have the capability of being righteous are paladins. By that logic, every other race and class is uncapable of being good. If anything they are just an order of righteous warriors who fight for good, but that does not make them paladins. They would have to be able to use the light to be considered a paladin....Well at least that's what I think.

I think the XP is split on group and then you get group bonus for each person in the group.

So if you are 2 people in the group and kill at the same speed as you would ungrouped you get more XP.
