9/10 races between vettes and mustangs are won by vettes...it's simple...power to weight ration and superior aerodynamics at very high speeds. Love those Cobras regardless...Vettes are waaaaaaay too common around here.
vette owner needs a driver mod. i love cobra's to death and would love to add one to my stable but a stock c6z is a 10.7-10.9 car with a great driver so a modded one with a decent driver should have no problem hitting high 10's. a upper only ported cobra is a mid to high 11 car
@Quatermain98526 its verry possible, a stock c6 z06 ran a 11.6. Put a set of slicks on it and a good driver and your in the High 10's. I've seen it done plenty of times
@Clementsfootball08 you really need to get out more often. the record was just broken last month. the guy driving the red C6 Z06 in the video went 10.7 @ 130mph. an average c6z driver runs an 11 flat. atleast thats what all of them do here in florida. if you have full exhaust and intake you are running 10.5's. look it up on here dude.

@4EverRegret This Cobra more than likely has about 450 rwhp and this zo6 can't have any ,more than 500. I have found C6 ZO6's for 39,000 dollars. lots of them in the $50,000 range. I found found the cobra's in my area stock for around 22,000. I know someone who bought a c5 zo6 for 11,000 grand ,now that is a bargain. I myself self would rather a 6 speed ls1 for about 8,000 and put the other 12,000 in it for the 20,000 range. 6 in the motor would we CRAZY !

@IDontHateOnCars hmm how did they know the crank power without doing a bench test? And every type of dyno is different plus the atmosphere of your area. Cooler denser air will produce more than hot or thin air inviroments. Some dunks show upwards or a 20 horsepower/torque than other places do. Plus a difference can be made on a dyno just by putting less restrictive fluids in the diff tranny and motor. Thats the biggest thing people forget

Yes a 2003 cobra is probably a little bit faster than a 2010 camaro and so would an LS1 camaro with modern tires and the same just about 400 horsepower ,those camaro were up to 600 pounds lighter. Have you seen the ZL1 lap on the ring? It hit 1 mile faster than the ZO6 at 172. Lets see a Shelby run the ring without shutting down 3 times

@KoreRay you must not know anything about racing being you keep saying supercharged as if that automatically would make it that faster car. an eaton supercharger is garbage. it puts out little volume per pound. not to mention stock is only 7 psi. the weight to power ratio in a vette is 6.2 to one vs the mustang 11.2 to one. and the for gt is garbage. its a shelby gt 500 engine on a over priced pos body.

No one ports there cobra without swapping pullies, and exhaust ,also more mods, just those give the terminator quite a bit of power. The cobra may be a 4.6 liter but is is a stout little motor. he 3 extra cams and 16 extra valves plus the blower make up for the 2400 cc disadvantage. Cobras need atleast 50 or more horsepower to hang with a c5 or c6 and need a good 80 or 90 to pull them after 130 some i have seen still lost

One thing that is a fact is that a stock cast iron block 4.6 DOHC with its forged bottom end will support well over 1000hp. Although I kinda of find it funny how discussions always go to ridiculous extremes on the youtube considering its a video with 2 mostly stock cars. :)
@DrBIeed Yeah im a where of why they used the ls3 to supercharge also how much potential a dohc 4v 4.6 has, with the boost it can handle. Im very familiar with both because they are some of my favorite engines from bot ford and chevy. Matching a 4.6 and a 7.0 isn't fare in the end. I do know the 427 lsx which is a 7l can put down 2000 horsepower with tt's , so thats more than 2000 to the crank. A 4.6 4v can fuck a 7l if you have enough mods to out power it but if you go all out it is no match.

I would be a great comparison to a Iron block lt1 (which i have seen in person over 1000 horsepower) or a ls, it would be a great match Yeah they are 5.7l 's but they are only 1 cam and 16 valves unlike the 4.6 has 4 cams and 32 valves which really makes up for its displacement . I don't think a 427 can make up to and over 2000 horsepower ,i know so.

A Z with as few mods as these and competent tune should be easy mid 11s @ 125+ if driven right. Heck it could come down to the driver, I mean, thats why we do it, because you never know ;-)

@4EverRegret This Cobra more than likely has about 450 rwhp and this zo6 can't have any ,more than 500. I have found C6 ZO6's for 39,000 dollars. lots of them in the $50,000 range. I found found the cobra's in my area stock for around 22,000. I know someone who bought a c5 zo6 for 11,000 grand ,now that is a bargain. I myself self would rather a 6 speed ls1 for about 8,000 and put the other 12,000 in it for the 20,000 range. 6 in the motor would we CRAZY !

@IDontHateOnCars hmm how did they know the crank power without doing a bench test? And every type of dyno is different plus the atmosphere of your area. Cooler denser air will produce more than hot or thin air inviroments. Some dunks show upwards or a 20 horsepower/torque than other places do. Plus a difference can be made on a dyno just by putting less restrictive fluids in the diff tranny and motor. Thats the biggest thing people forget

Yes a 2003 cobra is probably a little bit faster than a 2010 camaro and so would an LS1 camaro with modern tires and the same just about 400 horsepower ,those camaro were up to 600 pounds lighter. Have you seen the ZL1 lap on the ring? It hit 1 mile faster than the ZO6 at 172. Lets see a Shelby run the ring without shutting down 3 times

@KoreRay really? it was a 3180 ib. corvette with a weight to power ratio of 6.3 pounds stock! and the cobra weight is 3665 and a power to weight ratio was 11.5 to one stock. this corvette is basically a seat and an engine when it comes to weight.. its like racing a car to a bike. it doesnt make sense. with that ratio any vehicle manufacturer would have to almost 300 more horsepower to win on all aspects. chevy is beaten the same way when the rolls are flipped. why do you think the new camaro

No one ports there cobra without swapping pullies, and exhaust ,also more mods, just those give the terminator quite a bit of power. The cobra may be a 4.6 liter but is is a stout little motor. he 3 extra cams and 16 extra valves plus the blower make up for the 2400 cc disadvantage. Cobras need atleast 50 or more horsepower to hang with a c5 or c6 and need a good 80 or 90 to pull them after 130 some i have seen still lost

One thing that is a fact is that a stock cast iron block 4.6 DOHC with its forged bottom end will support well over 1000hp. Although I kinda of find it funny how discussions always go to ridiculous extremes on the youtube considering its a video with 2 mostly stock cars. :)

@DrBIeed Yeah im a where of why they used the ls3 to supercharge also how much potential a dohc 4v 4.6 has, with the boost it can handle. Im very familiar with both because they are some of my favorite engines from bot ford and chevy. Matching a 4.6 and a 7.0 isn't fare in the end. I do know the 427 lsx which is a 7l can put down 2000 horsepower with tt's , so thats more than 2000 to the crank. A 4.6 4v can fuck a 7l if you have enough mods to out power it but if you go all out it is no match.

I would be a great comparison to a Iron block lt1 (which i have seen in person over 1000 horsepower) or a ls, it would be a great match Yeah they are 5.7l 's but they are only 1 cam and 16 valves unlike the 4.6 has 4 cams and 32 valves which really makes up for its displacement . I don't think a 427 can make up to and over 2000 horsepower ,i know so.

@12amrdrproductions How is that,m are you talking boring a 4,6 or what because it wouln't be called a 4.6 for nothing which is most likely a 4500 cc's anyway rounded to 4.6. I know quit a bit about any ls tell me what im not right about and better explain how i dont know much about them.

@DrBIeed the ls9 is a 6.2 because a 427 is a waste with a 2.3 liter blower on it. the smaller cubed motor like the boost way better

and also everybody talkin shit about the cobra needin more done to it than the z06. let me say one thing. c6 z06=$60k-$70k. cobra=around $20k. so i would hope for the price of that car it could still beat a mildly modded cobra. BUT.... better bang for the buck, COBRA, and always will be..

@tj306notch LOL, so with your train of thought- a C4 Vette can be picked up for under 10k, so drop another 10k in it (total 20k) and equal pricewise to the Cobra and the C4 will destroy that cobra... Soooo... Better bang for the buck back to the Vette. Sorry, this vids description is not right. C6Z Vettes trap mid 120s, no way that the Cobra "only ported upper" does that

@blowngreenmachine ok.... well i was just comparing the c6z to the terminator. but if you wanna bring up the c4 that can be bought for 10k and put 10k into it for a total of 20k and beat the cobra, thats probably right, so what about the foxbody? one could be picked up from 3k-4k, and put 16k-17k into it. that will be a single digit car easy, that will beat anything on the street. not trying to argue, just stating my opinion. I see your a vette guy and theres nothin wrong with that.

@blowngreenmachine and also i'm sure that description is right cuz just pullied cobras (no port) can make 450-475rwhp and run mid/high 11's like this one (04 pullied cobra goes 11.77)type it in.. with the port they're know to make around 500 at the wheels. so actually with this race being this close it makes sense

@tj306notch Maybe, Like you said though I am a Vette guy (I do like all cars though) so it being my opinion I just don't buy it. I can't tell if there is a passenger in the Vette but the Cobra had one (filming), that adds to its already present weight disadvantage. A Z with as few mods as these and competent tune should be easy mid 11s @ 125+ if driven right. Heck it could come down to the driver, I mean, thats why we do it, because you never know ;-)

honestly did not think that race was gonna be that close. I own a pullied (as far as i know there's no port) 03 cobra and was just lookin up to see how it would run against a c6z, and holy shit it was better than i thought it would turn out to be haha

The best cobra vs zo6 race on YouTube i have seen in years is, Lankhoss' C6 Z06 (496 RWHP) Vs. '03 KB Cobra (590 RWHP) and that was uploaded in 06, u must watch it if you havent. That race is no bs the guys profile is 03cobrarick he knows the specs of both cars because they're his friends. I have found quite a few great quality races when corvettes were underpowered. Im all with you though on people lying about there cars but it's not just corvette's

so in the description says the cobra has the upper ported only....... BS.......an intake and tune, muffler,cat delete Z06 would destroy that cobra easier. i seen cobras with more thigns done and they cant take a bone stock Z

@alex369 No whats bs is 99% of vette owners running around claiming just an intake, tune, and exhaust when they really have way more than that. These guys dont want to get beat in their 70k cars so they lie their asses off about their mods. Ive seen kenne bell cobra's destroy true intake,tune, exhaust vettes. Then you see all these vids of "stock" c6 z06's walking kenne bell cobra's only to find out later that the vette had a 50 or 100 shot. Ive seen it 100 times. It happens a lot.

everybody hush now, they both are badass, jeez, just learn to appreciate both cars, took me a while to like mustangs being a corvette enthusiast, but you cant say shit till you have driven both!!!!!!!! i have and i like the vette much better, but hey, the cobra is still a beast and all that really matters is that is AMERICAN, which gives our fellow americans jobs, that build us some bad ass beastly cars!!!!!!!!!
