  • well this doesnt take the weight of the tube does it

  • You forgot to wrap the rim in tape 1st.

  • ur mascots were both pretty hmph!

  • iv done every thing now i just need to go to the gas station to get a air compressor

  • Can you help me with my Calculus class?

  • how are tubeless wheels better than with tube?? :OOO

  • They were both UGLY!!!

  • o herro

  • and when using non tubeles tire do you recomend tire with kevlar or wire in it?

  • for a 26 " do you put 24 " tube or 20" ? and can you do a tubeless with regulars rims and tires'

  • @crni195 20"

  • @linga115

some say that with a 24 stays better

  • @linga115 What is the size tire and wheel you used? Also What does UST Rim mean? and what is the difference between that and the regular rim. And what do you mean by "make sure the rim is true."?

  • Comment removed

  • can you use a normal bike tire like kenda sb8 that is not meaned to tubeless???

  • I absolutely CANNOT stand watching instructional videos longer than 7:00 total without fast-forwarding. Its a nice vid, but WAYYY to long for my tastes.

  • @digihawk159 how long is your attention span? long enough to make it to the end of this comment?

  • will this work on bmx bike?

  • Use some carpet mats to keep from dinging up your rim on the ground.

  • whats the point to all this ?

  • poor rim! bumping it on the concrete all the time, CANT be healthy!

  • nice vid, clean and simple...Im gonna try something different tho, I ride with a couple guys that used gorilla tape to rig their tubeless setup, and it works great

  • lower tire pressure = more traction = more friction = MORE rolling resistance...

  • so its not tubeless?

  • whats the point of going tubeless

  • were do u by sealent

  • @yaboijeff123

any bike shop should be able to order some for you. you can also find some online at say jensons, price point, cambria, etc

  • @linga115 thanks

  • were do u bu sealent

  • hey man thanks alot for this video i took the chance and thanks to your video succeded mount on a "ghetto" 2bless your guiding was very nice and acurate though i had to put on the sealent through the valve because i couldent take out the tre of :)

its been two weeks and its doing great! again thank you very much!

btw could you upload a video on how to lace a wheel? i'm sure your instructions will be more clear then others :)

keep on the good work :)

  • that tube is well small!!!!!!

  • "It's a lot harder than it looks"...

You weren't exactly making it look easy y'know! :oP

I only just heard of ghetto tubeless now so this video is a voyage of discovery for me. No idea what I'll think of it by the end but I thought I'd hit pause and make the above comment. ;o)

  • stretches easier if you inflate AFTER its on.

  • lol "we're gonna need a mascot, wait this one kinda ugly."

mean for you. cute for the dogs

  • ni hao

  • Great video mate!

  • nice and even. and spread out...

  • Is tubeless good DH racing?

  • @unknowingbiker short answer yes.

ive been using this for a while now. it sure cuts down the weight and drag you get from DH tubes. i know a few friends who use this system to race DH. theyve had no problems

  • Great job on the Video. I did this a few months ago and I followed your instructions to a tee. It worked out great.

  • Wonder if that would work on a cyclocross bike...when do you use the sealant?

  • i have never tried this on road or CX applications. however i have done it in all forms or mountain biking with great success.

see part 2 for when to use the sealant

  • Yeah figured out part II right after posting that...does seem like a lot of work - what is the sealant that you are using?

  • are you using a schrader tube or presta? and where do u buy it if its a presta 20" tube?

  • in the video i used schrader. its easier to re inject sealant later on.

but it dont matter which one you use. you can pick up presta tubes at just about any bike shop

  • thanks

    I test it. Tubeless improvised = D

    less expensive and functional xD

  • you use the normal tire or tubeless tire??

  • normal tires with normal rims will work fine

  • You were chasing your tail for a second there.

  • badass

  • for 26" wheels u have to take a tire from 24 "?

  • 26" wheels

    20" tube

    26" tire

  • bmx tubes :o

  • fdsfds

  • wait i bmx and race road bike's, what am not geting is if i take out the inter tube and buy that sealant could i convert my bike tires and my bike rim's into a tubeless bike tire and rim, even tho i used to use inter tube's, could that even work, or would i have to go and buy special rim's and tire's, i know that type of stuff gets expensive but am not trying to spend that type of money, please write me back i would appreciate it and bye the way good video 5-5

  • any tire, any rim combo should work. i have not tried this method on road bikes so i cant say how well it will hold up on the road. mainly because road bikes run higher pressures. for me, at 20-60 psi in the tires i have had no problems.

it does not have to be tubeless specific rims or tires in order for this to work.

if you do try this on your road bike let me know how it works out.

  • i dont think this will work with high end bmx aka 90-120 psi

  • Thanks, EXCELLENT tutorial. It took me a long time to get the tire to inflate (I actually took one of them to the auto tire place after dorking around with the floor pump for a hour, and their airhose worked wonders).

  • Thanks a ton. Saved me a lot of money on my DH wheels, and it was very easy the way you explained it.

  • mnie się to udało zrobić na normalnej oponie drutowej kenda koyote 26x 1,95 z tym że trochę się namęczyłem zanim opona się uszczelniła z tą dętką i teraz trzyma dobrze powietrze

    felga z mavica xc 317

    dętka 24 kenda wentyl samochodowy

    opaska na obręcz schwable niebieska

  • Converted to tubeless following this video in December 2008 after having at least a flat a week. In 4 months since converting I've had zero flats of riding on very rough rock and thorns in Texas. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this conversion.

  • glad to hear it helped. been running this system for almost a year now and still no problems.

  • What type of sealant de you use?

    If i have 24 " wheels i need 22" tube?

    thx

  • i used stans sealant. if you run 24" wheels i would suggest a 20 inch tube. maybe even a 16. which i think is the next size down

  • What type of sealant de you use?

    If i have 24 " wheels i need 22" tube?

    thx

  • Man, great video!!!!!!!! Thanks.

  • I have made this operation and it works perfectly. But now I must inflate my tire, and the valve has is locked. How can I clean it ?

  • what is the valve locked by? which valve are you using?

  • I use the "PRESTA" valve. It has been locked by the latex.

  • have you tried pressing the valve down to loosen it up then using a compressor to shoot some air into it. if worse comes to worse, you can just get a new tube. i would recommend schrader valves . that way you can use the syringe to inject sealant. not advertising it or anything, i just found that it makes my life easier

  • I'll try it, thanks linga115

  • I have just tried to inflate the tire before applying the sealant, but it was unsuccessful. The tire didn't capture any air at all. It looks like the tire beads are to close to each other and not putting pressure against the rim walls. I'm attempting with Kenda nevegal tires by the way

  • try patting down the tire. all around the rim. the point here is to get the beads sitting on the liner so it will trap air.

other possibility would be you arnt hanging the tire which could cause the beads to lift off the rim. which lets air out.

another thing is if you are using a floor pump, you arnt pumping in air fast enough. i highly recommend using a compressor. a hand pump is near impossible and a CO2 is not enough.

  • Thanks for the tutorial.

Just a couple of questions. Can you do this with used tyres? and, Can you run the tyres at say 60 psi?

    thanks

  • yes you can use used tires. you just have to make sure you patched any hole that it may have. ive used simple glue on patches to do that.

i have run my tires with as much as 80 psi when riding my mountain bike on the road. but the point of tubeless tires is to be able to run lower pressures. so i run 25, 25 front and rear respectively. but im really light so some people might not get away with pressures that low.

  • Very good !

  • great tutorial.. tried it out yesterday step by step .. worked perfectly... ( with a floor pump ) So stocked running tubeless...

  • great job with this tutorial dude.

  • Nice for posting this video and helping other folks out.

  • then what?

  • how come I got -6 Im so sad...
