Hey. Some of your stuff is pretty good, but I agree with some other comments. Maybe cut out a lot of the Video Copilot stuff, it's totally ok to use them for help and tips but you should apply it to your own projects rather than follow a tut to the letter and put it in your showreel. Maybe a different audio choice too, I think this one was used for the official AE promo reel on 2006 and 2009?? Looking forward to seeing your next reel tho! :)

ProjectSETH, I just checked out your channel. I'd keep my negativity to myself if I was you. You're "combined video trailer" doesn't exactly give you any ground to stand on and judge others. Regardless, I hope you, LukeWilson, myself, and anyone else out there with the desire to create, design, and share it on youtube, continue to create, learn, express and collaborate. A negative attitude will make your world small and your life very lonely. Design will save the world.

@ProjectSETH I've seen your stuff on your channel - its not much better/worse. Often times its not the quality of your work btw - its how flexible you are (there's a lot of markets around this country where making graphics move at all is better than anyone local can do).

Hate to say it, but there are way too many tutorials from Video Copilot and Red Giant/Trapcode that you're trying to take pass off here as your own. That's terrible designer etiquette.

... Like I say in the description. I've come on a long way since those days. I'm at the stage were i'm thinking about taking this video down because it actually embrasses me.

The stuff I do now looks 100x better and is all orginal content. Maybe oneday i'll be able to upload a demo reel of my latest stuff :)

Looking at this showreel it reads more like experimentation's with some tutorials and very little actual design work. Im sorry but design is more than sometimes picking a good font.

Saying that, i would love to see how you have progressed since last year, and if you are worried about copyright infringement then change the logo to something similar or the contact details.

As a designer you hold the rights to anything you produce not the people you design for.

Not meant to offend you, but as a designer it would be sad you can't show your work to the public, you can see hundreds of designers show reels with company names in, and if you where told by the companies that it can't be shown anywhere else you are been taken for a ride mate.

And to anyone else watching/reading this. Yes this is a demo reel... not a show reel. It's adapted tutorials and and examples. Nothing more. I never tried to dress this up as something it's not. Frankly i'm ashamed of it and have no idea how it's got 31,000 hits... Maybe its the soundtrack :) - PEACE GUYS! ...and thanks for the comments!

It's really unfortunate that i'm not going to be able to post my latest demo reel. It would breach the company I work for at the moments copyright agreement with it's clients (the people i've worked for). Let's just say I do stuff for internationally recognised brands everyday... I'm proud of what I do and it's miles better and cooler than ANYTHING on this demo reel :)

IMO this demo reel isnt good. It's not creative, it has not concept at all. The music choice is stolen. It's used on dianearbus 06 Demo Reel. And can we say VideoCopilot much? It's like a bunch of effects put toghether...

i really enjoyed your use of the footage of the crinkled up paper with the motion graphic over top...nice..i enjoyed the whole thing really, but that part stuck out most me with the use of traditional and digital methods.

what software did u use to "create" the video in the first place ? i mean i wanna know if after effects is just something used to embellish a video that is already made. But what do i use if i want to create something from scratvh ?

Each clip was produced from scratch in After Effects and Edited together in Premier Pro. Hope that helps.

Hey, can I make a suggestion? I like the reel, you have a lot of great and original stuff in their, but I feel it can be shortened by a minute. Only put your best stuff in there, and take out anything that is obviously a variation of a tutorial you have learned from. Other than that, good work.
