That tug is not breaking the ice, it's just just keeping it open. When a ship break the ice they literally drive on top of it at let the weight of the ship break the ice.
@Tehoboo Yeah he is, he's useing the wake to break the ice, and that tug is the NEAH BAY an ICEBREAKING TUG stationed at Cleveland, she's really popular around here in the winter.
Its so cool at 1:10 wen the wave comes its like its some thing under the boat that makes that =/

That is so cool. I also thought that when a ship breaks, the front part of the ship splits the ice.
