  • Nice Kokyu. Well done. I also like the care for the student.

    G.

  • Dearest Master Lara, the more I study this lesson the more I think you hypnotize your enemies.*****from Italy.

    Your Stefano

  • It can look like that with proper use of Ki. I do draw my attackers Ki from him as he attacks and then I cut it down behind them in this Waza.

  • very nice demo of the ki in aikido.

    Merry Christmas!

  • Thank you mksterr. Merry Christmas to you too!

  • bohong!

  • LOL

  • Sensei Lara,

Thankyou for this video, I rate it 5 star. I practise Aikido every week, but this move is beyond my present ability. I would apreciate any pointers that would give me more insight into the move.

Many thanks for sharing your wisdom, the more I see of Aikido, the less i realize i know.

    Wishing you peace profound

    Phillip

  • Thank you for your kind comment. I will be doing a future video to cover this waza more in depth. Peace!

  • Wow you must have worked really hard on that technique.

  • Yes it has taken years. Thanks for your comment Aikirich. Peace!

  • i would like to have this done to me so i can understand the essence of this. i know nage is throw. can you translate the kokyu for me. thanks. i know kyu as in kyu rank but not in this word. i know what all my techniques names are in japanese and english so i want to learn more about aikido names. thanks for sharing 5 stars

  • Hi Jason. Kokyu is breath. so Kokyunage is breath throw. I would be happy to teach it to you if we were in the same city or state. BUt the best we can do right now is YouTube. Its very hard to try and explain everything going on with this Waza without throwing you at the same time. You know what I mean I am sure. I will try to cover this more in future videos. Thank you for you comment bro. Stay warm! Peace:)

  • thanks and yes i understand

  • Robert excuse my ignorance since it has been a while since I have practiced Aikido . The throw almost appears to not be a physical throw but a subtle movement which screws up the mind of the individual the uke in which they fall so a touchless throw messing with their mind due to your movement am I off base?

5 stars by the way and an excellent video. I did read your description I was just trying to figure it out on my own by watching . Very cool.

  • Yes your have part of it right for sure. Leading them into a throw by leading their Mind. As soon as they attack they are being thrown. I blend my Ki with theirs and control and drop their center. By doing this I can throw them with out touch. For me I extend Ki and control them before the attack even starts. Thanks for your question Rick. Peace bro!

  • Great job!!

  • Thanks. Peace!

  • Thank you Robert Lara sensei, this is a great video. Thanks for sharing.

Take care and God bless you!

    -William-

  • Thanks William. God bless you too brother. Peace!

  • 5* Thank you for sharring !!

  • You are very welcome my friend:) Peace!

  • Excellent example of Tohei Sensei's principles in action. Your student's reactions are priceless. The sensation from techniques like that is so hard to explain. They always make you (as uke) feel like a clutz.

  • Thank you kindly webslinger1. Peace!
