  • me again, this mans store only had a few inches of water and solution the roots barely touched the solution. He uses the drip method also, maybe they got too much water. I was told to run the pump 2 hours per time 3 times a day. hope I helped. he also gave me a huge catalogue to help me. if you want to try again, and i hope you do..just write me.was also thinking old plants were end of season, maybe root bound and stunted, try younger plants.

  • Ive been following you. We have a new hydroponic garden center here in NY. I just wanted to tell you that they have a huge greenhouse full of veggies. they use clay pellets called hydrotron and two solutions. One is very mild 2-1-6

the second stronger is used when they bloom or need to produce fruit. they also clip the tops of the plants. I would suggest patio tomatoes, stocky and stay short. I just made my first system and its your fault! laughs.what did you use as medium? sorry for your loss

  • hey, nice video.. i really wanna try to grow using hydroponic system and i think i can manage to work it from the equipments that is availabe in my country, but my problem is the solution.. is it just water, is it a specific solution for this kind of growing or is it just water and i can added fertilizers to it.. please help me with this.

    thank you very much.

    cheers

  • @attractive225 You can definitely find all the stuff you need where you live. As for the solution, you can watch sublbc's videos to get some general knowledge about nutrients (he grows cannabis). You might also want to consult a local farmers' supplies store for info on necessary nutrients for your plants.

  • I have been growing tomatoes conventionally for many years and I think you are over worried about losing the lower foliage as it is usually removed at the later stages anyway to encourage nutrients to the fruits. This year I have gone Hydro so in time I will see how my efforts go.

  • I question the necessity of using a drip if you're using DWC system. With your system outside, you may have introduced Verticillium or some other wilt into the vermiculite and then into the vascular system of the plants.

  • is the air pump really needed when doing hydroponic system??

    is it accurately needed 100%??

    please answer urgently

  • @marinK14 good for mixing nutrient and keeping air in the water. Stops the water from going stag. If you have good water circulation no its no 100% needed but its highly recommended. Check out my vids.

  • Get rid of all your 'nutrient solutions' and add a fishtank for Aquaponics.

  • Very nice, I never thought about growing fruits and vegetables. I may try some peppers in a couple of weeks. Anyway I was pretty sure you can remove the drips once the roots have submerged in your water, or are tomatoes to be treated different?
