OK it doesnt take a long time for the strings to vibrate....he had the pickup selector only on the bridge pickup and held the ebow over the middle pickup. You hold the LED light directly over the pickup... this guy obviously doesnt understand the concept, how a guitar effectively works and wasted $100 on a great guitar accessory

@29396 i think by just putting the ebow on top of the pickup in use, directly, it will sound more or less as a plectrum... the fade in effect is achieved by moving the ebow towards the pickup, if the ebow is directly stacked into the pickup it will sound directly

move your wrist in clockwise motions, it keeps each bend in tune (instead of unmatched bends).

I'm classically trained.

Alot of people who teach themselves how to play miss tiny details and don't develop aural theory.

To mimick violin, cello and flute vibrato, you need to try and make each bend equal to all the others, or else you'll have all sorts of micro tonal notes that don't fit in the key.

I'm just trying to give a quick pointer to self trained guitarists.

It's not supposed to sound like a real bow. Univibes and phasers were supposed to sound like Leslie speakers. The don't, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them. You can do things with an ebow that aren't possible with a normal bow and vice versa, one is no better than the other.
