Hitting is a LAST resort - always, and is only a gesture for dicipline, not punishment.

its like the story my father's cousin told me about smoking. His friend's son smoked & the father allowed him to smoke as much as he wanted. So my father's cousin asked why. His friend replied "if hes going to do anything, i want him to do it in front of me when i know it & not behind my back, becuz this is what my father did to me and i ended up hating smoking". The kid grew up to the age of 18, and my father's cousin saw him and asked him, "why dont u smoke?".

The Prophet himself never beat children. 2nd, hitting is always used as a last resort in Islam as has been proven with the whole "wife beating" stuff that ppl like to argue about. 3rd, beating of this sort was always light & with a small wooden stick. Im sure uve heard all this? The only place where the Prophet orders ppl to hit children is in a single hadith from Sunan AbuDawud in which the Prophet tells ppl to teach kids how to pray at 7, & beat them for it when theyre 10. Book 2 Hadith 495
The explanation for this hadith is given in the fatwa i told u about. remember that when islamic verdicts are given, ALL aspects of Islam must be taken into consideration. Judgements must be given within the values of the general way that Islam has carried itself. ALSO, The Pophet has numerous hadith about how to hit if that ever needs to be done.

The Prophet said to avoid the face(Sahih Bukhari B46, H734) and leave no marks when u use dharban ghayra mubarrih, light hitting. U are not even allowed to hit urself, "He is not one of us who strikes his cheeks, rends his garment, or cries with the cry of the Jahiliyyah."(Al-Bukhari and Muslim). @MsAakifa Salam, i have to correct you if you dont mind. It is not right to call Allah god too. Because the plural of the word god is gods, i know you know that. Allah has no plural and that shows his Oneness, we all know that too. So there would be a contradiction to Allah´s oneness if we say Allah is god or just another word for him wich aint true because he has 99 names and god aint one of them.

hitting children is promoting violence, which is against the general interpretation the Islamic way to treat others. If we R 2B the kindest ppl 2 stragners, who R we 2B unkind 2 our children? Discipline is an art that must be mastered psychologically. Theres no proof that hitting children is recommended in Islam, yet there exists matters of which we can rule that its agaisnt Islam. Hitting is a LAST resort - always, and is only a gesture for dicipline, not punishment.

It's the intent that matters. If you hit a child for the sole purpose of causing them pain, that would be child abuse and therefore haram. However, if you are hitting a child to discipline them or teach them a lesson, there is nothing wrong in that.

Hitting a child is not allowed in Islam except as a complete LAST resort, & is only a gesture of dicipline - meaning no harm is done to the child physically to the least. Plz visit islamonline . net for the fatwa titled "Hitting and Verbally Abusing Children" for more info. u cant just turn all things into halal becuz u think the intentions are good. Intentions should be based upon the right and not the wrong.

Ok i agree that hitting is not the total way but it worked on me, As a kid i smoked(around 8yrs old) then ma father caught me n beat me till this day i wont touch a cigrette because i think ma dad will come n beat me. But i do agree talking can also help and ur right LAST RESORT, but it is all dependant on the situation, and what the punishment calls for n what their age is.

the only hitting allowed in islam is a slight tap, only as a disciplinary action - not a punishment, and only as a complete LAST RESORT. This means that ALL other methods and attempts were made already, with patience, and upon seeing no result, this hitting gesture is used. Other than this, any type of hitting children is completely haraam.
The Prophet himself, pbbuh, never resorted to hitting. Never.

As for adultery and sex before marriage, very simple. Sahih Bukhari book 23 hadith 413, Sahih Bukhari book 38 hadith 508, and Sahih Bukhari book 48 hadith 817. its like the story my father's cousin told me about smoking. His friend's son smoked & the father allowed him to smoke as much as he wanted. So my father's cousin asked why. His friend replied "if hes going to do anything, i want him to do it in front of me when i know it & not behind my back, becuz this is what my father did to me and i ended up hating smoking". The kid grew up to the age of 18, and my father's cousin saw him and asked him, "why dont u smoke?".

No they would not be flogged. Dealth penalty, or flogging at the least, is used for unwedded sexual intercourse. That is the action that results in such a punishment, not merely considering someone to be a boyfriend or girlfriend. Secondly, such a case is a legal matter not a matter of mother or father to child punishment.

The Prophet himself never beat children. 2nd, hitting is always used as a last resort in Islam as has been proven with the whole "wife beating" stuff that ppl like to argue about. 3rd, beating of this sort was always light & with a small wooden stick. Im sure uve heard all this? The only place where the Prophet orders ppl to hit children is in a single hadith from Sunan AbuDawud in which the Prophet tells ppl to teach kids how to pray at 7, & beat them for it when theyre 10. Book 2 Hadith 495

The explanation for this hadith is given in the fatwa i told u about. remember that when islamic verdicts are given, ALL aspects of Islam must be taken into consideration. Judgements must be given within the values of the general way that Islam has carried itself. ALSO, The Pophet has numerous hadith about how to hit if that ever needs to be done.

The Prophet said to avoid the face(Sahih Bukhari B46, H734) and leave no marks when u use dharban ghayra mubarrih, light hitting. U are not even allowed to hit urself, "He is not one of us who strikes his cheeks, rends his garment, or cries with the cry of the Jahiliyyah."(Al-Bukhari and Muslim). This is as much info as I can present. I'm sorry I have limited abilities as does every1 else. For more info u should probably contact a scholar & ask for more proofs for what I'm saying, InshaAllah.
