@c5173 well first of all we can spell...second of all you don't have to ask the Brits you can ask US servicemen and women and they will tell you that collateral damage happens but everything reasonable is done to prevent it....and third of all....we never shoot first. you have to get like 90 approvals to shoot anything, not like its represented here...and lastly they did ID the target, genius

If you think that's cheesy you ought to see an old Navy ASW training film called ( drum roll here ) "To Catch A Shadow". I saw it when going through the AW school in Milington, Tennessee back in 1969. It was fairly new back then. Seriously dated today no doubt. I have seen this for sale on the net as a DVD.

@snoopy180surfer Navy, two hundred+ years of tradition unmarred by progress. Gotta love it. Yes, I have emptied that honey bucket a time or two but only on non tactical missions. We had radio operators for that back in the days of A & B models. Come the P-3C they had an officer( if I remember right) to do the comm and HE wasn't gonna empty the honey bucket. I didn't do enough time in Cs to every have to empty it.

We landed at Tinker AFB in OKC one day and when we got parked and dropped the ladder this nice crisp AirForce guy drove up in a nice crisp truck and offered to service our lavatory! I asked him to stand by and got the pisser. When i handed it to him he raised an eyebrow and proceeded to hose it out and disinfect it, cleaner than it had ever been. Asked me if the Navy was that cheap, I told him he didn't know the half of it.

@yblocker If you are talking about TWA Flight 800, there was never any evidence to to support that statement. THe official NTSB statement said frayed wires caused a spark in the gas tanks, resulting in the explosion.
