one of the announcers suck balls!!! first he sais the kiyokushin guy looked confused but he was flawless in his stance... clearly he was staying on the outside and winning with the leg kicks you KNOW they hurt... i killed the bounce on the TKD guy. the kiyokushin fighter clearly has boxing training and was just waiting to launch counter strikes. THE TYPICAL counter to a taller fighter in boxing is over hand right the guys jab...the announcer sais i was unexpected.. it was just a matter of time..
@Jersm5 I actually think he was right in saying the kyokushin guy was nervous. If he'd been more sure of himself he'd have walked into close range and just mauled the poor guy the way kyokushin fighters do, however he used pretty much no effort and wore no strikes of value to get his win. Damage counts for a great deal in bare knuckle tournaments maybe he was already planning his next round...
That's right, I've actually got both parts of this tournament on video. The tall lad knocks out some mad little fighter, who basically runs onto a straight left, in his first fight. I think that both of these guys were'nt that good really. In fact I don't think that they were even fighters, like half the people on this card they were martial artists; and not fighters, which is something which made these early MMA tournaments so dangerous.
ill admit that they r both shit but that wasnt a lucky punch and if u knew anything about fighing u would know that he did good to get it in after being smashed in the face twice
Don't know why, but the Kyokushin fella was playing the TKD guys game, he should be crowding him and taking the leg kicks, unless leg kicks are against the rules...but crowding is always a good method for facing TKD
very bad taekwondo fighter here, he has just used taekwondo as his martial arts when i cant see ANY proper taekwondo techniques used in here. His back kick and kicks had no power or stretch and especially no speed and counter attacks which taekwondo fighters are supposd to be good at and are taught every time
i have yet to find out whoes the best out there but i dont believe that karate is any better or worse than tkd .there actauly similar in the one pwer hits at a time and they share the same kind of chopy stances .for exa.boxing has a good fluitity to it in that there constantly moving with there punches like dancing to hip hop or something .or of course hip kido theres a fluity to every move so that if one move doesnt work it flows to another option taking the opponant down ups and downs in all
All other martial arts depend on the fighter... IE, Karate, Muay Thai, etc, everything EXCEPT tae kwon do because it's a straight up shitty martial art
well technically TKD is a form of Karate. i understand your statement but i think you over-generealize the concept of "Karate". many styles of karate are one-hit styles (Kyokudhin, Enshin, Ishin-ryu) but the fluidity of boxing is present in many forms of the art. Examples: Kajukenbo, Kenpo, Gojin-ryu and, as you said, Hapkido. Keep looking or make it your own.
i suport TKD because im korean but as i see in just the short clips they have on the internet, that tkd is more of a one power move at a time and that theres no fluity in the fighting just one hit power moves .every martail art skill has there ups and there downs and every fighter is differant .we all have are flaws and strengths .
Even though im a WTF practitioner, I would like to say Karate basicly have more benefit in full contact fight because Karate teach both feet and hands even knee, in Tkd we don't learn punching technique a lot nor knee , even low kicks is allowed.
Now im practicing Shotokan Karate to train my punches, and I wold like to say both style is great. what i love bout Shotokan is they teach grappling and lock also, and it very usefull
how can a tall ass taekwondo fighter not throw any kicks that could reach that guy? ive seen a short filipino tkd fighter go into a cage match and knock the guy out with his first kick after the guy punched him in the face
hmmm not reallly, mostly came from taekkyeon and subak kinda, taekwondo is older then karate, but some karate would have been implemented into tkd within the modern development of it lol. so its not a copy, but some skills have come from karate.
no taekwondo is built on karate. There were influences from korean arts added years after tkd was established, but not much since
Korean arts were more or less dead when korea was released from japanese control at the end of WW2. All tkd schools were karate with some kungfu influences.
But since there has been a big pressure in korea to rebrand tkd into a original national art, without the hated Japanes influences, there has been a huge history revisionism from the early 80ies and onward
Sin desmerecer la buena guardia del kiokushin , que mal se cuadra el "peleador" del tae kwon do , jira como brincando la cuerda ,sin ningun efecto , al final creo que mas que el arte depende del atleta
What... was that... an insult to kyokushin and taekwondo, thats what. They fight like the little kids in my kickboxing club. The guy who "won" gets one lucky hook in and then it ends? The other guy seemed fine to me, he could stand. Oh, and I didn't see anything like kyokushin there, I saw a TV show on kyokushin masters in Tokyo and they are always toe to toe constantly throwing attacks, and the taekwondo guy, where are the kicks? You are right takaken81, complete amatuers.

I've studied karate for years and every time I ever gotten in a fight it was always with some "badass" and four of his friends never jus one person and I have yet to get my ass kicked by those unks on the street my karate has held up fine to multiple attackers
Of course, MMA is all about dishing out damage and being able to take damage. Traditional specific martial arts are less applicable to real life situations. It's a common fact. So MMA takes all the applicable elements from the traditional styles, hence MMA - Mixed Martial Arts.
keep in mind. these fighters are NOT pro camp fighters. they are not what we are used to watching such as ufc fighter that come from training cames to be PRO. they both have style but they do not have the minds of a bull like contract fighters. hey...i respect it fully regardless
the bottom line is these two idiots are disrespectful monkeys, no gi top? Grandmaster Masutatsu Oyama Kyokushinkai & and Grandmaster Hee Il Cho AIMAA TAE KWON DO would slap these two monkeys in the head for undressing their uniforms like that, this is not some dumb brawl!
WTF taekwondo apparantly never focus on punches. I'm in ITF, most ITF clubs I've been to focus equally on punching and kicking. But I trained in one WTF club for a half year or so that did absolutely no punching whatsoever for the complete time I was there... But I can't imagine that being normal even for WTF.
i do kenpo and ive fought 2 TKD guys in beat them both
fairly easily no offense but its not that great its not street practical u couldnt use it in a fight and its not very strong ive also fought a muay thai guy he was an awsome fighter i couldnt really land anything on him and when i did it felt like i punched a brick wall MUAY THAI= GREAT FIGHTING
TKD= COOL LOKKIN FORM OF EXCERCISE (BUT THATS ALL)
Uahahahah I do Muay Thai and Muay Boran (Mae Mai Muay Thai). What I'm watching is not a fight but a stupid dance without a real fight. They don't know how to puch or kick... They just dance. They're insecure and afraid...
HAHAHAHA Milano you dumb fuck. Many kyokushin fighters have OWNED muay Thai fighters under K1 rules and also visa versa, you are an ignorant fuck and probably learnt your "Muay Boran" in some McDojo
Go and fight 'em then! U talk shit about Muay Boran, but u don't even know the real truth about it! I DO. I just ain't gonna get into it because I'm pretty sure yo brain can't comprehend it.
are you kidding me? as an outsider, I would guess that muay thai is one of the deadlyiest and maybe the most dangereous art. But NO style is the best, NO-ONE! Do you practice an martial ART? dude, please learn some respect. you'll need it.
i would fight both guys at the same time if this kung fu tkd or what ever kick flip around ,it is i welcome the challenge from them I am 147 lbs you got the size on me I dont even train i watch dragon ball z shows so you got that on me too odds are in your favour already take up the offer if you like good way to prove your style to me HA YA HA YA CHOP CHOP KICK'em in the vagina
man the tall guy was poor in his tkd..he should have trained more..watch the other clips here at youtube of olympic contenders of tae kwon do, and then you can see how it is supposed to be done.
but the problem is this - a 'real' TDK stylist is often a guy/girl who has poor balance because of technically suspect kicks, can't punch to save his/her life, and has zero groundfighting and grappling skills. there IS something very wrong with the stuff they is being taught in general. the so-called good TKD people actually incorporate stuff from elsewhere.
Actually, in some competitions, and this may depend on the organizations or the practitioners, punching is legal or the guy/girl will utilize more punching than kicking. There are such organizations like ITF and WTF and others that I've seen. A good TKD fighter, Serkan Yilmaz.
just another bad advert for shitty tkd fighters who probly only trained 2 times a week for a year and go off with false confidence and get whooped.tkd 3200 techs 2100 are hands so why all the shity flying spinning crappy kicks guys???
Olympic TKD focuses mobility, but not to hold your ground, it relies on counterkicks too much(spin kick/backkick) which becomes predictable because its all offensive.
Let me point something out about TKD being full contact. In TKD they wear head gear, sometimes footgear, and a bodyarmor. In Kyokushin (which is full contact, not semi contact or whatever) no protection is worn at all. Which one is the pussy of the two style?
Neither of these guys had a lot of skill. I mean the Kyokushin guy was fairly ok I guess, but definitely not at the same level as top guys from that system. TKD man flat out sucked. As for Kyokushin in MMA, its obviously a proven stand up system in K1, and is a solid striking base, but there are actually a couple of variants (like Daido-juku) that teach groundfighting as well. Their torneys are usually a blast to watch too.
you mean 9 years old at this stage u are not able to fight with power you'r only a kid yeah i was in real sparing and after that i was with one eye biger than the other ;)
Dude its not about the art its about the fighter, and seriously, have you ever been in a real saprring, some guy was pretty close to breaking my nose in a TKD fight, and i was 9.
did the tkd guy just got out of his first practice...get him a sparing uniform... i take tkd and it kind pisses me off wen ppl talk shit about it but this just puts it to shame
Some people would find that offensive. I'm only saying this because I'm a shotokan practitioner, but also a boxer with some grappling in me. People shouldn't judge styles by the practitioner.
I don't know about the karate person but I can definitely say that the Tae Kwon Do person was unskilled. It was noticeable just by looking at his fighting stance, let alone kicking. When he moved about in his fighting stance, he stayed in exactly the same shape, and it looked pretty stiff. Just this can slow down your kicks and flexibility.
omg i think the tkd dude was a white belt lol he didnt have any technique whatesoeva and his legs were stiff i am about too be testing for orange belt in the wtf federation and been practicing for 2 yrs in tkd and even i know to not keep your legs stiff.
Ok that was a lame ass fight between a hopping little gazele and a frightened pussy cat and does not serve as reference for comparasion between the effectiveness of these two styles... although it is my belief that the fighter makes the art not the other way around...
TKD sux. I spar with friends from ATA and ITA all the time and OWN everyone of them. I never even geta chance to use my tanglang chuan/Jiu jitsu techs because I just catch their kicks and take them down. So predictable too, head shots or body shots, I just protect my ab and head. my legs can gaurd bottomfor me.
TKD is a great art, my friend is a 3rd degree black belt..it may not be as effective as others, but no art is better than another..only a complete dumbass would say 'my art is better than yours!' or 'that art is shit'
I, for one, wish there were more people like u! I'd also like to say that if u don't feel satisfied with your art, and this is to everyone, then add to it.
Karate & TKD fighters could learn grappling just 2 get people 2 shut the hell up, for example.
I'm American, black, 22 years of age, and smarter than yo dumb ass. U seem to think that certain races are good wit certain shit! If u think that, then challenge the following fighters.
really i dont care about other martial arts i respect all of them but i cant really stand ppl who say shit about tkd. anyways im suprised yu didnt put up anyone for tkd or taekyun
This fight starts at 1:50. Before that, its just fearful hit & run misses and running around.

wtf man this sucks... I do nothing as competition or something but even in my MMA class i learn better fighting than this.
v1nnie0012 4 years ago
Of course, MMA is all about dishing out damage and being able to take damage. Traditional specific martial arts are less applicable to real life situations. It's a common fact. So MMA takes all the applicable elements from the traditional styles, hence MMA - Mixed Martial Arts.

HAHAHAHA, so many amature tekwondo fighters on these youtube videos
MrL666 4 years ago
Maybe they could perform a little better if they loosened up and relaxed a little more?
Garethtkd 4 years ago
I agree Its all about fighters, the fighting stile is not what will help you win in a battle, is the way you use your style
OceanMage 4 years ago
keep in mind. these fighters are NOT pro camp fighters. they are not what we are used to watching such as ufc fighter that come from training cames to be PRO. they both have style but they do not have the minds of a bull like contract fighters. hey...i respect it fully regardless
triplehitter07 4 years ago
Style has nothing to do with it. What matters is how the fighters adapt to different styles.

you fucking idiots have no respect for martial arts it doesent mater what the fighting style is it's all about the fighter.
michaellaguerre 4 years ago
the bottom line is these two idiots are disrespectful monkeys, no gi top? Grandmaster Masutatsu Oyama Kyokushinkai & and Grandmaster Hee Il Cho AIMAA TAE KWON DO would slap these two monkeys in the head for undressing their uniforms like that, this is not some dumb brawl!

Wow... Those are some of the crappiest punches I've seen in my life from the taekwondoin.
HXXXXAN 4 years ago
taekwondo almost never focus on punches, i did tk for 2,5 years, since im kickboxing i learned (learning) boxing.
woutvsas 4 years ago
WTF taekwondo apparantly never focus on punches. I'm in ITF, most ITF clubs I've been to focus equally on punching and kicking. But I trained in one WTF club for a half year or so that did absolutely no punching whatsoever for the complete time I was there... But I can't imagine that being normal even for WTF.
HXXXXAN 4 years ago
i do kenpo and ive fought 2 TKD guys in beat them both
fairly easily no offense but its not that great its not street practical u couldnt use it in a fight and its not very strong ive also fought a muay thai guy he was an awsome fighter i couldnt really land anything on him and when i did it felt like i punched a brick wall MUAY THAI= GREAT FIGHTING
TKD= COOL LOKKIN FORM OF EXCERCISE (BUT THATS ALL)
umchrisum 4 years ago
exercise.... you better watch some more tkd vids, ITF or WTF, exercise!!
tkd14wilson 4 years ago
Uahahahah I do Muay Thai and Muay Boran (Mae Mai Muay Thai). What I'm watching is not a fight but a stupid dance without a real fight. They don't know how to puch or kick... They just dance. They're insecure and afraid...
milano1919 4 years ago
HAHAHAHA Milano you dumb fuck. Many kyokushin fighters have OWNED muay Thai fighters under K1 rules and also visa versa, you are an ignorant fuck and probably learnt your "Muay Boran" in some McDojo
unregisturd 4 years ago
Go and fight 'em then! U talk shit about Muay Boran, but u don't even know the real truth about it! I DO. I just ain't gonna get into it because I'm pretty sure yo brain can't comprehend it.
Gauntlets 4 years ago
kyokushin is best martial art of the wold
babakaze 4 years ago
are you kidding me? as an outsider, I would guess that muay thai is one of the deadlyiest and maybe the most dangereous art. But NO style is the best, NO-ONE! Do you practice an martial ART? dude, please learn some respect. you'll need it.
taekwondoboy69 4 years ago
Neither of these men can fight, they've probably taken a few lessons at most and then jumped right into the ring.

Another asshole who judges arts by the practitioner... Go fight a real taekwondo stylist then!
Gauntlets 4 years ago
but the problem is this - a 'real' TDK stylist is often a guy/girl who has poor balance because of technically suspect kicks, can't punch to save his/her life, and has zero groundfighting and grappling skills. there IS something very wrong with the stuff they is being taught in general. the so-called good TKD people actually incorporate stuff from elsewhere.
shadowdusk 4 years ago
Actually, in some competitions, and this may depend on the organizations or the practitioners, punching is legal or the guy/girl will utilize more punching than kicking. There are such organizations like ITF and WTF and others that I've seen. A good TKD fighter, Serkan Yilmaz.
Gauntlets 4 years ago
just another bad advert for shitty tkd fighters who probly only trained 2 times a week for a year and go off with false confidence and get whooped.tkd 3200 techs 2100 are hands so why all the shity flying spinning crappy kicks guys???
ahumanweapon 4 years ago
the taekwondo-dude is able to keep away the short boxer-like karateka, but once on the inside, the karateka explodes like Armageddon
KaratekaKid 4 years ago
Olympic TKD focuses mobility, but not to hold your ground, it relies on counterkicks too much(spin kick/backkick) which becomes predictable because its all offensive.
KAZUSHIKIMINOUE 4 years ago
Let me point something out about TKD being full contact. In TKD they wear head gear, sometimes footgear, and a bodyarmor. In Kyokushin (which is full contact, not semi contact or whatever) no protection is worn at all. Which one is the pussy of the two style?
vladik87 4 years ago
That is no taekwondo. My yellow belt friend moves better.
Cindywong2000 4 years ago
lol. in the end he just gave a big right hand which i dont think gt anything to do with kyokushin.

oxcide101 4 years ago
Neither of these guys had a lot of skill. I mean the Kyokushin guy was fairly ok I guess, but definitely not at the same level as top guys from that system. TKD man flat out sucked. As for Kyokushin in MMA, its obviously a proven stand up system in K1, and is a solid striking base, but there are actually a couple of variants (like Daido-juku) that teach groundfighting as well. Their torneys are usually a blast to watch too.
Kagemusha08 4 years ago
you mean 9 years old at this stage u are not able to fight with power you'r only a kid yeah i was in real sparing and after that i was with one eye biger than the other ;)
stoqn4 4 years ago
the kiokushin is a 100 ways better than the taekwondo before i was trainning and the sparing is with real hits not like the girls from the taekwondo
stoqn4 4 years ago
Dude its not about the art its about the fighter, and seriously, have you ever been in a real saprring, some guy was pretty close to breaking my nose in a TKD fight, and i was 9.
chriswatters12 4 years ago
whaat??? tkd is full contact!!. kyokusshin is semi contact.. SO THAT DOESNT MAKE SENSE AT ALL. IM SORRY
tkwndo55 4 years ago
do you ever seen kiokushin its full contact, you are in the big mistake
stoqn4 4 years ago
it's a fight? it does not occur anything... ZZZZZZZ
bladerunner3 4 years ago
did the tkd guy just got out of his first practice...get him a sparing uniform... i take tkd and it kind pisses me off wen ppl talk shit about it but this just puts it to shame
Gking911 4 years ago
shotokan practioner would've ended it in about 5 seconds, no speed here at all!!!! oh yeah, tkd guy,
learn to jab.
maoswidow 4 years ago
Some people would find that offensive. I'm only saying this because I'm a shotokan practitioner, but also a boxer with some grappling in me. People shouldn't judge styles by the practitioner.
Gauntlets 4 years ago
I don't know about the karate person but I can definitely say that the Tae Kwon Do person was unskilled. It was noticeable just by looking at his fighting stance, let alone kicking. When he moved about in his fighting stance, he stayed in exactly the same shape, and it looked pretty stiff. Just this can slow down your kicks and flexibility.
Neil3824 4 years ago
omg i think the tkd dude was a white belt lol he didnt have any technique whatesoeva and his legs were stiff i am about too be testing for orange belt in the wtf federation and been practicing for 2 yrs in tkd and even i know to not keep your legs stiff.
taekwondo4me17 4 years ago
Ok that was a lame ass fight between a hopping little gazele and a frightened pussy cat and does not serve as reference for comparasion between the effectiveness of these two styles... although it is my belief that the fighter makes the art not the other way around...
brotherzero 4 years ago
TKD sux. I spar with friends from ATA and ITA all the time and OWN everyone of them. I never even geta chance to use my tanglang chuan/Jiu jitsu techs because I just catch their kicks and take them down. So predictable too, head shots or body shots, I just protect my ab and head. my legs can gaurd bottomfor me.
vortexblade 4 years ago
TKD is a great art, my friend is a 3rd degree black belt..it may not be as effective as others, but no art is better than another..only a complete dumbass would say 'my art is better than yours!' or 'that art is shit'
usahed 4 years ago
Belts mean fuck all mate. I beat a guy in a fight who was 4 gradings higher than me.
JamieHorror 4 years ago
I, for one, wish there were more people like u! I'd also like to say that if u don't feel satisfied with your art, and this is to everyone, then add to it.
Karate & TKD fighters could learn grappling just 2 get people 2 shut the hell up, for example.
Gauntlets 4 years ago
LOL~!!! What a crappy fighters, especially Tae Kwon guy had NO POWER~! what so ever. LOL LMAO...pitty.
urkingod 4 years ago
they both sucked cock, the TKD fighter was useless, so was the kyokushin , would be cool the see 2 good from both sides fight.
MrTeee1988 5 years ago
*sigh* again TKD will own any type of martial art if that TKD fighter was ASIAN and 3rd degree black belt!!!
Demonicjin 5 years ago
I hate reading these shallow ass comments. It all depends on the person, dumbass!

David "Tank" Abbott (Street fighting)
Ernesto Hoost (Kickboxing)
Remy Bonjasky (Muay Thai)
Gary Goodridge (Kuk Sol Won/MMA)
Musashi (Karate)
Need I name more?
