If it wasnt for them, less privileged citizens would have to suffer and go without any care at all. I had an abscessed tooth in the FL Keys. Thought I had cancer in my jaw. Never had one before. Went to a clinic. X-rayed the wrong tooth, so said I didn't have a problem.
Had to have a root canal at another dentist and that crown fell off.
If this guy had been on the street, I would have gone to him. Dr. Yankum fixes everything.

Kind of reminds me of going to the one old dentist in my little town 60+ years ago. He didn't deaden teeth when he filled them because he said that it would kill the tooth. Also, when he deadened the bottom teeth to pull one, he didn't shoot the novacaine back in the jaw, only in the gum around the tooth. The pain was extreme when he pulled a tooth. Thank goodness young dentists with modern ways moved into town before I needed any more dentistry.

I am a dentist. 1- that injection was a waste; maybe it was to make the patient think something meaningful was being done? It could not conceivably deposit anesthetic close to the Mandibular nerve ... no wonder she felt pain. 2- luckily the tooth did not break off ... the bike repairman would have no way of retrieving the broken piece. 3- The colored solution was not anesthetic; it should be clear. 4. There was no waiting for the anesthetic to work. Yikes!

I kind of agree with you, I recognize that the intentions are good but... Everything is contaminated ! It is an easy way to spread diseases! Everyone with the minimum knowledge of microbiology knows this.
They could adopt some measures to make the procedures less "contaminated", but of course, someone have to help them giving some information about it...

I wonder how funny the film maker would think this is if HE lived in grinding poverty, had an agonizing toothache or other serious dental problem, and THIS was all he could afford. (Oh yes- and there's some foreign douchebag filming your misery intending to ridicule you).

@Frankenpickle I find this movie funny, because of the approach to the theme, (and I also find funny when Charlie Chaplin eats his shoe laces), I personally had lots of problems to pay my dentist and this is all night mare, but the humour is healing in this absurd world:) take it that way!

@majawow If these were actors in a performance, it could be darkly funny. However, the "patients" here are real people, enduring great suffering because they have no better option. Since the "Likes" outnumber the "Dislikes" for this video by almost 10 to 1, I guess that makes me out of step with what's normal in this world. I just don't find humor or entertainment in seeing "real life" people hurting.

Kind of reminds me of going to the one old dentist in my little town 60+ years ago. He didn't deaden teeth when he filled them because he said that it would kill the tooth. Also, when he deadened the bottom teeth to pull one, he didn't shoot the novacaine back in the jaw, only in the gum around the tooth. The pain was extreme when he pulled a tooth. Thank goodness young dentists with modern ways moved into town before I needed any more dentistry.

I am a oral surgeon and I have idea what is write to do in tooth extractions.
This guys must go to prison!The purple solution was no anestetic,it was KMnO4 for desinfection ,but this is NOT enaugh to make sterile any instrument or siringe !
This is horrible!

Unbelieveable that any government would allow this to go on regardless of how poor or destitute these people are. I am a dentist. 1- that injection was a waste; maybe it was to make the patient think something meaningful was being done? It could not conceivably deposit anesthetic close to the Mandibular nerve ... no wonder she felt pain. 2- luckily the tooth did not break off ... the bike repairman would have no way of retrieving the broken piece. 3- The colored solution was not anesthetic; it should be clear. 4. There was no waiting for the anesthetic to work. Yikes!

Was that Gluteraldehyde he was using to clean his instruments? We outlawed that stuff years ago because its carcinogenic. I hope he washed his hands at least some time that day!
