politicalfarce; it is my understanding that John McCain had a version of that bill as well...the difference was, that the benefits were awarded on a sliding scale, with the people who stayed in the military the longest receiving the most benefits, and those who were in for a shorter time still receiving benefits, but not as much as the people who stayed in for a longer time. It seemed reasonable to me... working as an incentive to stay in service longer.
