  • I could listen to this song over and over and over again....oh, wait! I am! :-)

  • Brian May is the best

  • 300 likes and I'll make a video of me singing this! let's move to 300!!!!

  • "All your letters in the sand cannot heal me like your hand..."

    Beautiful <3

  • this song taught me everything i needed to know about the relativity of space travel

  • Sci Fi! Relative travel! Etc!

  • Sci-fi anyone?

  • LOVE THIS SONG TILL I DIE!!!

  • holy is in the url

  • @roy44ish

    There's a reason for that! :D

  • @96gummyworms i noe huh!

  • Pop Song Equation

Sci-fi + Folk + Queen = A word so amazing that it doesn't exist in human world

Justin + Bieber + Lady + Gaga = A word so disturbing that it doesn't exist in human world

  • @loco5430 Lady Gaga is very talented.

  • @itsbridgetlogann Then she should perform at a level above what I can sight read.....

  • @itsbridgetlogann very talented at sucking cock.

  • @chiaromontestephen

Can she even do that well? LMAO

  • @itsbridgetlogann Explain. Her songs are all poorly written and her songs are performed by a computer for the most part. Admit that the voice is pretty good, and she plays piano, but what else?

  • @itsbridgetlogann i respect her taste in music because she likes queen, david bowie, iron maiden, judas preist, and even saxon. but she is in no way talented as a musician

  • @loco5430 You know Brian May played guitar in one of her recent songs.

  • @kkkatie00 You mean HIS recent songs...

  • This song is amazing. I wish I would have discovered this song years ago. Besides being fun to listen to, this is a great tune to play on guitar. Queen just seems to be a never ending supply of musical genious and enjoyment.

  • This remains the only song about temporal distortion due to travel at near-light speed I've ever heard. Queen wrote awesome music about interesting things.

  • For my life

    Still ahead

    Pity me

  • The Queen Concert in Seatlle 1976 was the best and this song just stuck with me. These guys have the best harmony.. LOVE LOVE LOVE QUEEN

  • Brian May♥

  • I ♥ this song and I ♥ Queen ♥

  • I Love Brian's voice

  • trovatemi un gruppo che sa cantare,e fare qualuque tipo di musica......................ragazzi vi presento i QUEEN,un miratore che gli ascola da oltre 20anni,freddy vivrai per sempre

  • Awesome - cheers mate.

  • i love that, very simple and big hit at the same time

  • "Oh so many years have gone though I'm older but a year

Your mother's eyes from your eyes cry to me"

That is really deep. It speaks of the infinite eternity to which we all belong, yet we cannot fathom, we infinitesimal almost insignificant souls inhabiting Mother Earth. It is really deep.

  • @ErieBoy62

Hi, I think it's about space travellers coming back having aged just one year to the land their grandchildren knew. Your mother's eyes from your eyes cry to me might be his son or daugther. The wife he left is many years away... dead. This is the greatest song I know.

  • just a few people from all the world, of all times can do something like this.. Brian is one of them....

  • Is that Freddie Mercury singing? Doesn't sound like his typical voice.

  • @edctgbujm123

    No, its Brian May.

  • Absolute classic song. BRIAN!!!!!!

  • If I were to go into space I would need to have this album!!

  • this song's so different from the rest of queen. I wonder what inspired them.

  • @brainwasher9876 my dear friend whit took them there.Apart from absolute talent. Were were you.

  • @britshop no hablo espanol.

  • srgt peppers lonely harts club band did

  • @slayermaster009 like the beatles' song? Thanks for the info!

  • @brainwasher9876 Skiffle. It's a type of jazzy folksy blues-ish style. Brian wanted to do that kind of song with a sci-fi twist. A sort of "old meets new" song; singing about the future in a style of the 1920s. Only Queen could do something like that and have it sound amazing.

  • @LB40186 thanks for the information! I appreciate it.

  • Great album

  • the most brilliant the most sensational music mixture ever.I fell in love with Queen all over again,I use to own this,my goodness how wonderful they truly were and are.

    Jackie

  • I especially like the opening and middle 'ahh-ahh-ahh' bits. It sounds like the original Star Trek theme music, which is a BIG hint at what the song is about!

  • BUYING THE POSTER TOMORROW !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This proves to me the world needs more Sci-Fi Skiffle :o)#

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

I've added it to my "when i cease to exist" cd to be played at my memorial.

I've been listening to it since 75, still brings tears to my eyes.

  • @jrb51055 Hey, I've been doing that as well. But for me - it's more than 1 cd. There's too much music I love that expresses the story of my life. But I'm happy to see that I'm not the only 1 who's doing the same thing. Take care and GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jrb51055

I WAS IN GRADE 3 WHEN THIS CAME OUT GREAT SONG , THANKS , HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND ! :-) AND YES IT IS BEAUTIFUL

  • Brian took inspiration for the lyrics from Tolkien's book, "The Lord of the Rings", he was a Tolkien fan too :D

  • @the31dogcat no one cares

  • @molongjoe94 I do =P it´s good to see young people like me loving Queen.

  • Amazing lyrics and harmony, it sounds like the old western songs

  • Good audio. Dynamic range in tact.

  • Briaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan <3

  • I remember my dad singing this song when I was (very) young, and so I knew the chorus before ever having heard it. It's one of my favourite songs of all time and makes me so happy :)

  • MasterXCV you are so right the 60's and especially the 70's had the best...Thank God I have all the best on cd's...not much worth listening to these days, mostly electronic devices no real musical content anymore

  • when did real music began to die??

    Queen forever, great song Brian!

  • @CHICAGOTICA44 sometimes in the 80;s i think... the 60;s and 70;s were the best years for music!

  • @CHICAGOTICA44 ...for me,it was grunge that started the downward spiral.

  • @claypigeon77 Its literally MTV, Much Music, and all those hyper commercialized music outlets. It simply recycled old hits in a dumb down and well packaged fashion that basically created generations of retards. Stupid sound bites that are catchy but have no real soul or lasting impact. I mean I just think back to all the hit songs when I was in high school and think my god, what replicated bullshit. Bah : ( No attention spans these days.

  • @AesirV You are so right.

When I listen to the radio or watch "Music Television" stations, I don't hear much music(no pun intended), I hear a lot of crap and all the best music seems to be Indy and R&B(See Hip-Hop)...lol. I prefer the sound oof the wind in the trees.

  • Classic song. Will always love thissong

  • with out a dout one of queens unknown hits I LOVE IT

  • one thing that cannot be argued is that these guys appreciated music, listened to it studied it experimented with it and managed to make some very excellent music of their own. In my mind all the things that make some musicians stand out from the rest.

  • Try listening to this and read Freddie's wiki page and not cry....

    :'c

  • The one person must have missed the like button. :C

  • This used to be one of my 'party pieces' with acoustic guitar, many years ago.

    This and 'Dreamer's ball'

You just made be dig out my old Queen songbook - I'll now be playing old Queen stuff all night.

    Thank You :)

  • influenced by the beatles and of course dylan

  • This is one of the best Queen songs by far. It means so much to me. If I ever have kids, this is the song I'll sing to them before they go to sleep. It's so beautiful.

  • @Truth2567 I introduced this song to my dad.

  • The best song ever!

  • Haven't heard this album in so long I forgot about this song. I like it more now than I did when I bought the album back in elementary school.

  • Very good song, country one.

  • this isnt like there other songs. it reminds me of a slightly country song iv heard.

  • I love this song. It's one of my favorites by Queen (although I absolutely love everything from them) I love Brian's voice!! Every time I hear it, I think of a space ship flying through space and coming back 100 years later....it's one of the ones that really makes you think

  • My bro and i played this together before he left for Arkansas- haven't played it with him since--25 years

  • One of the classics....Never have been sure what it was about.

  • @careing57587 It's a science fiction story, it's about time dilation.

  • @ElChanateRifa But it's still an awesome song, i cry hearing this.

  • @careing57587

What ElChanateRifa said is true. According to the classic albums episode about Night at the Opera, Brian May notes that he also intended this song to be a "Space Folk Song." VH1 might have the episode on their vh1classic website if you're interested.

  • I had this song stuck in my head for years and it drove me nuts because I wasn't sure what it was called. I had heard Brian sing it at a Mercury tribute. So I looked up all the Mercury tributes I could and never found it. Eventually I did find it and I said "IT'S 39 IT'S CALLED 39!!" And my dad says "Well geeze I could've told you that..." lol

  • I think actually it's called 'The Year of '39" I haven't read the album cover lately, I just play it on my record player.

  • @ladyjade1200 George Michael sang it at a Mercury Tribute

  • Don't you hear me calling you

Write your letters in the sand

For the day I'll take your hand

In the land that our grand-children knew

  • love this song, too!!! Peter, Paul , and Mary.....and queen....quite the departure, but quite the song,,,,for years, had no idea what this song was about....it absolutely about time travel....very Brian!!

  • I love this song so much!

It has the most addictive beat.

  • One of my favorite songs. When the day is hard and long, I play this at work and picture myself on an ocean. It is nice to have dreams such as this.

  • all we have is our dreams, but they wont come on their own. gotta work towards what we want

  • You are so right. My dreams went along with a bad marriage that ended with a broken back and many broken bones when my spouse tried to kill me. My dreams are now to get on with life, be happy with what I have my life and this song helps so much with the pain. When the pain is really bad, I play this and picture the freedom of the oceans and the wonder of them also. Thanks.

  • goooooo brian!

  • @ jajefa15

Go back to your mum little wannabe troll, before a real one spots and eats you ;)

  • Yes he is a stupid for listen Queen. ¬_¬

  • This song is one of my favourites.

My kids love this song too.

    I think we've made a full circle!!

  • this song is amazing. whoo. thanks for posting.

  • This Song is great! I love Brain´s Voice in this Song!Queen is the best!!

  • this song make me dream... *.*

  • This song is so heartbreaking, but set to an upbeat tempo. I don't know anything else like it.

  • Life is so full of tragedy-they came back to a world that they("The Volunteers") could no longer fit into.

Another tragic story is from the band U2-"All I Want is You"-check it out please.

  • I have seen All I Want Is YOu. Lovely, slow waltz -- not upbeat tempo like this.

  • Also check out "God Only Knows" by The Beach Boys., " Your Dictionary" by XTC, "Blizzard Of '77" by Nada Surf and "California Girls" by The Magnetic Fields

  • I think they're freakin' awesome!!

Yeheeeey!! Who wants a banana? :D

  • I love this song!

    I love Queen!!
