I like the game for its graphics, but that's it. It doesn't go as nearly in depth as simcity 4 at all. No messing with financial stuff. No different types of transportation. A lot has been removed.

In simcity 4, there was more than 1 type of road!! there were so many factors of your city and everything was more realistic, even with the 2D graphics!! Im serious!! the 2D graphics were better looking, admit it! and, there was so much realism because the graphics are 2D and the game is able to save room for more features instead of the 3d models and textures taking up space. and, that also makes room for more buildings.

i agree w/ you...SCS really suck... viewing a very big city in full 3D (not trimetric view) can make the game lag so much, thats why they fixed the camera in SC4 in a limited view.

btw everything in SC4 is 3D (the buildings, cars, environment, etc..)..its just that the camera is sims 1 style.

No, SC4 is considered to be a 2.5D game; that is, it superimposes 2D buildings props people etc on a 3D grid of land. 3D cars roads etc exist along that 3D universe, but the buildings are just 2D images that have depth. thats why when a car drives halfway through the front of a building (teehee) there isnt a curved line where curved car meets flat wall. instead, its straight, because that part of building is "in front" of the car, and the other parts are "behind" giving the impression of depth.

did you actually notice the BAT? (building architect tool) They have these primitive 3D models (cube, sphere...etc) to shape your building and render the textures. Then you just adjust the surface normal of the building you just created and there you have a 2D-like buildings.

Hell no, that many buildings, you would not a huge processor. SimCity 4 is to large to be 3D with our current technology (unless you want all square buildings, then maybe). Look at rollercoasters tycoon 3, it isn't nearly as large and doesn't have good graphics.

there's more than one type of road when i plyed this game in an internet cafe i had two types of road

SC4 has 6 types of road:

street

road (bigger than a street)

one way road

avenue

ground level highway

elevated highway

And, car & passenger ferry, which I include because it connects to a road and takes cars across to another road, which is like a form of road connection network thing.
