@GreatfulVince i sort of agree with you on your find good music on your own, accept a few thing. finding it on the RADIO,or Having sombody (dad mom grandma grandpop aunt uncle,etc) recomend it to you is fine,but how i found out about this song originaly was in 2001 watching the IronGiant. i was 5 i fell in love with the song, then when it was finaly possable i went surfing through my grams doo wop cd found it and sunk it to my ipod, i also found other good songs, sister sookie whisperiin bells.

@GNRSlashLover the song was written by jerry lieber and mike stoller. They had a bunch of hits during the whole "manufactured" rock n roll period of the late 50s when large recording label started to focus on rock. They employed writers who worked in cubicles to create songs and gave them to groups like the coasters to sing.

I don't know much about the show other than it's about a bunch of fruitcakes dancing and singing like Momma Mia, so that comment (as well as it's approval) instantly corrupts my enjoyment of the song.
