Dell, stop trying to make people think they'll get an American that speaks English when they call Dell for support. 100% of the time you're calling India and you can't understand one word they say. TRUST !!
I work for Dell tech support and I use dellconnect every day. Dell did not make this program, it's a citrix program. It's still nice, especially when you get an idiot. I spent 30 minutes with someone just explaining how to navigate the website to give me access.
It is a great tool, but needs to catch up with the technology and they need to put it on ALL techs pc I've called a couple times and sometimes some of the techs do not have the tool on their PC, others have it.
this kind of software shouldn't require a "high-speed system" to work with... they should have just used VNC rather than writing their own shitty software

From my experience, they seem to have a mix of Indians and Americans. But when I've talked to Americans, the problem gets solved. When it's an Indian, they seem to try their best to find an excuse to hang up as quickly as possible. Just my experience.
I'm going to go ahead and guess that they ask for your credit card details because you are calling one of two numbers. EWS (Expired Warranty Support) or DOC (Dell On Call) Both are fee based.
The only "customer support" that will ask for a credit card is Dell on Call which is for spyware and virus removal mostly. If you are getting infected wiht spyware perhaps you are not qualified to own a computer :)
