@Techthisbuffalo iMacs have components that are better than most PCs. If you got a pc with the components an iMac has, then you are probably going to pay MUCH more for that PC than you would an iMac. A Mac pro however, transcends even the most beefed up consumer PCs. It's practically a server, with 12 cores of processing power, it's ungodly fast.

@34skyline yeah thought about that but I had the GTX 285 for 2 years and need to update, and I heard that the new video cards won't have thunderbolt, so saw the 5870 dropped in price and figured I would buy it. as long as I can play BF3 when it comes out at full res 2560x1440 and max settings I am happy :)

Still offers 1333MHz ram, same goes with hard drives the same 7200 rpms hard drives you find in PC but I will give you one thing that Apple is lacking is the GPU but that's about it, as for expensive I don't think so I spent the same amount of money on this Mac Pro, On my Dell XPS I had

@TensonFlo Yeah, Apple Ram prices are ridiculous thank god for third party venders like OWC (Mac Sales) and the same goes for the hard drives people don't have to buy hard drives from Apple, You can go too newegg, bestbuy, fry's etc... to buy hard drives, Apple is starting to improve on the GPU's the Core i7 iMac's have the ATi 6970 and that's not old hardware, I hope that the 2011 Mac Pro's will have the same GPU so that I can upgrade to that
