  • Strangely vacant stare you have there Paul, almost as if there was nothing going on inside your brain. Odd.

  • Objectivism seems largely to appeal to simple-minded folk....

  • how do you 'reasonably' explain the self you are addressing? How did the self come to be? How did the homo sapien sapien evolve so that he could turn inward and wonder why he evolved that way? how is that logical?

  • Wow. After watching several of your videos Paul, I think I'm discovering that I might be an 'Objectivist'.

Question: Is 'Objectivism' consistent with the principles of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights?

Can I be a 'Constitutionalist' AND an 'Objectivist'?

I'm a little new to this area of thought but hungry for more of this flavor of Brain Food. Inspiring stuff.

Anyone's thoughts on my questions above are welcome. Thanks Paul, and any responders.

  • "is objectivism consistent with the principles of the US constitution and Bill of Rights"

Mostly. The US constitution does, in small ways, allow the government to engage in things like welfare, but I think objectivism is the next step in the evolution of justice and reason

  • This sounds like Epicureanism.

  • It's called "Objectivism".

  • Hi Paul

Myself have lived 21 years of my life without doing much thinking and done almost everything using only my emotions, and it lead me into a very deep depression -- I have dedicated the rest of my life to think everyday and be fully aware without EVER doubting my own consciousness and rational faculty. I am an objectivist for the rest of my life.

  • I've also chosen to think. I've discovered that thinking of religion as weak is reasonable.

Rejecting religion doesn't have to take anything away from morality whatsoever.

  • You're all quite welcome: it's my pleasure. Thanks for your kind words.

  • Consider this comment my statement of support (for whatever significance it holds).

You have been an undeniable part of helping me to understand and accept the morality of Objectivism. I cannot thank you enough, Mr. McKeever.

  • Praise the Lord

  • Pretty cool

  • Hey Paul, didn't you say you were sometime going to give a full video on your interpretation of the Critique of Pure Reason by Immanuel Kant/ I'd be very interested to hear it.

  • I'm so backed-up with projects now (better ones) that that nobody should hold their breath for that one. Sorry. It may yet happen, but not soon.

  • The choice is either or. Either you choose to follow reason and live, or not and die.

  • Quite so. In fact, that's why I say "...to think, so to live" instead of "to think and to live".

    Cheers,

    P

  • Finally, a rational mantra.

  • ...and some people oppose this?

  • Most people (whether they realise it or not).

  • i just wrote it down for later use.

  • :-)

  • Amen.

  • That is an excellent credo. :-)

  • I approve

  • I love it.
