This ballerina convinced me she is a doll...she has the mechanical bounce and all the trimmings. Re: the other face comments: I think her facial composure is styled and dolly. Gold!
you missed my point. I don't want her to have a straight mouth and stare off into space, haha. I have a large expression when I dance. but she's like got a half open mouth and like...kind of staring off. I know what a stage face schould look like, but ppl have different opinions on what they like to see :)
I see your point, but a doll DOES stare off into space! Plus like I said before, the audience didn't see that close up view. And this doll had to stand there while the other doll danced, staring off into space and not moving around for a minute... a doll stage face is different than a regular stage face! But hey, everybody has their own opinion; we can agree to disagree! :)
wow you're easy to have a discussion with, I like that. and I really do understand your point. she's just playing the part right? yes I guess I just needed to think about that one haha. agree to disagree! ;)
the dance is cute but the dancer that's doing the doll needs to keep her lips closed and have a sweeter face. it's kinda freaky, and unprofessional ;( I like it tho, thanks for posting
Actually when dancing on stage the expressions used NEED to be "bigger", or the audience won't see them. I hate watching a blank dancer, so much better to see expression. The audience didn't see that close up view, that was just the person who recorded it zooming in. It is not unprofessional, quite the opposite. Perhaps freaky looking close up, but it looks good onstage doing it that way!
This is great. She looks very doll-like and her technique is very good. Her arches are absolutely gorgeous! I was having a pretty bad day but this really made me smile, it was just so cute and well done. :]

Yes, I agree with you, a dancer should always use expression when dancing, and it must be exaggerated for it to read to the audiance.
