Then apple gets the feedback from said adopters and makes a new and improved version for half the price. That's when everyone else swoops in. Look at the progression of the iphone. Then you'd get usb ports, you could get a camera, you could multitask, you could get a bigger hard drive, it would be cheaper, it would be more functional. The ipad just has a touch screen, and it has a nice battery life, but it really doesn't have a lot going for it and left out some of the most basic features.

If you already have an iPhone like me, don't buy the 3G model. It will b a total waste. Not long in future, you'd be able to connect iPad to your iphone wirelessly wit a jailbreak or official software. There's probably something you can use straight-away in Cydia. The two device will be able to communicate with each other then use your 3G data subscription via the iPhone wit iPad. 3G version is good for those who has no iPhone or 3G phones to connect with iPad. Save your money, use your brain.

Whats with these apple devices and their "apps"?

Sure they're cool and all but they seem to be like miniaturized computer programs. Sure they function just a little bit different with the whole multi-touch thing incorporated, and yes it does make it "easier" to publish programs, but even older tablets still function more like traditional computers, and are nearly as versatile. They work with what's compatible, and thats what counts.

Then again maybe I'm just an old fashioned computer user...
