  • He is the best in Kung Fu

  • He is real man ! He is nearly 50 years old but still fast and strong........

  • DONNIE IS THE MAN....don't fuck with him

  • donnie yens is the best EVER

  • Ip man, Dragon tiger gate, the legend of the wolf, flash point...wow Dony has a lot of great movies!

  • this is such an awesome showreel, check out my page we went for a Donnie yen look on our video

  • please, help me,what is the name of this song?

  • donnie vs GSP in a ufc match..lol donnie owns..

  • i will never forget about his classic short hair styles! :)

  • Its not Jing Wu, its Wu Jing!

  • Ip man!

  • of course we all should know that jet li used to be better than donnie yen in movies from the past. nowadays, it's different. donnie shows more and better expressions of himself. he not know only acting, fighting but also directing, camera angle, etc. hollywood was too stupid not to see such talent while filming blade 2. if donnie were to be with hollywood today, i'll believe his movies will be way better than jet and jackie chan. oh well. just stay in Hong Kong. i wouldnt recommend Hollywood.

  • Nice vid, what`s the name of the song??

    thanks!

    =)

  • what is the name of this song ?

  • donnie yens the best.

  • Donnie is a true marial artists Jet is to I think donnie is like a camelon jet is more straight forward he is a fighter period where donnie is more of a technican. Donnie said he was faster than jackie but was not for sure about jet he fault Jet twice Hero and OUATIC they were with weapons not hand to hand. He said no one he has worked with threw the years was faster than him. They both are great in there own way.

  • @VanDamme11 It's so tough to tell on screen, but he didn't work with Jackie during his peak so I really don't know who was faster.

  • U have this original soundtrack?

  • GRAN ARTISTA MARCIAL DONNIE YEN

  • What is that film called made in 2002, pasuse the clip on 1.00. thanks in advanced

  • that's blade 2

  • tis music really suits donnie.....he is cool......

  • Jet Li is awesome but you have to admit Donnie Yen has what it takes do handle business behind the camera and in front of it.

  • @nagi85 i agreed. donnie handles business behind the camera well while jet li is just a martial artist and actor.

  • omg i luv him so much!!!

  • Comment removed

  • jey li's more flexible than DY, u underestimate the legend m8, DY is more flexible and knows more techniques than jet li. would u ever see jet li incorperating mma in his movies? not a chance m8, i love them both but DY is more versatile than jet. if u watch hero carefully, Donnie actually slows down for jet in their throw down

  • i wouldnt say that I hardly see Jet do split kicks and stuff like that

  • Jet is very flexibleand performed split kicks in once upon a time china 2 swordsman, shaolin temple, etc. but donnie is famous for the split kicks more

  • Even so i doubt jet li is as flexible as Jean Claud Van Damme and Yen

  • in my opinon jet li is themost flexible out of the lot. hes a 5 times wushu champ and if you watch his old films, he is super graceful and flexible. however if you are refering to his modern films, youre right. jetisnt as good as he use to be since he started making hollywood trash.

  • Yep....I use to be a jet li fan myself but i found him not to be fast or versatile enough Jet li only knows a couple different styles but when it comes to Yen just name it......

  • jet use to be fast but hollywood really made him slow. the same with jackie really. there really is a different betweenrush hour and drunken master for example.

  • True But i really never seen either of them have the speed of yen and most of jet li's old movies are garbage and cheesy apart from Jackie Chan which has a ton of classics

  • That's because his movies were undercranked, half of them at least.

  • i know that but ive seen jets real speed from shaolin temple and wushu demos. hollywood does the opposite to undercranking as they cant keep up their speed.

  • @SHP8 that's because hollywood isnt experience in the field of martial arts yet. however, i do think that hollywood shouldnt be using anymore martial artists because they're making the fighters look even worster. luckily, donnie yen is with hong kong at the present time other wise if he's with hollywood now, i believe his western films will not be that unique and great. and i do agreed, jet li use to be fast.

  • Jet and Donnie are comparable for sure. But Jet is better trained, and faster. More flexible too. Donnie has that raw aggresion that would probably make him a better fighter, but they are both of the highest level

  • Donnie has style.

He can combine teakwando, kung-fu, kickbox...

  • BeatNo1- Is a insane fan of donnie yen. Please look at Donnie's Fist of fury and Jet's fist of legend- u will realise who is a better MA, in terms of speed, skills and movements. Donnie always like to show off regardless what and imitates Bruce lee(insanely). Jet has been 5 times national champion of china, and he has got vast area of expertise, just visit his official site. Donnie is jack of all trades, master of none. He doesn't have any control on his attitude. Agressiveness and hard-hitting

  • i think you've been researching his movie characters rather than Yen himself

  • can't argue with that. my impression has always been that Jet was very flexible and movy but I guess it's got to do with his flair.

  • Donnie is great lengendary

  • Donnie Yen is the man, that´s all I have to say.

  • Bruce Lee will always be the best cause he brought the game to the world. But I do however consider Donnie the TRUE successor to Bruce in terms of knowledge and training in MA as well as striving for new stuff within MA choreography.

  • Um.. I agree with the part about innovating the action genre with MMA.. but Bruce has thought of that lightyears ago with Jeet Kune Do.. Donnie Yen is nothing but an imitator in his movies when he tries to portray Bruce. Jet Li on the other hand has his own style and way of thinking, not aping that of Bruce's in Fist of Fury. Yen is more of a copycat, Li is original.

  • bullshit. when donnie did fist of fury he wanted to try and imitata all of bruce lees movments. so it would look more orignal like the old one. but donnie can still fight in many different ways

  • When I say imitate, I mean Donnie Yen tries to act like he is Bruce Lee, which doesn't work. Li was smart and instead of copying him, he had his own style which added to the Chen Zhen character. And in terms of Donnie Yen, even when he doesn't play as Bruce he still copies him (eyes, moves). Just watch Flashpoint at the end with his stupid feet-skipping and stare-down look. He tries too hard to be Bruce and looks silly. Li can actually skip like a boxer in Fist of Fury, Yen can't.

  • bah! what does mannerism have to do with how you adapt to other MA styles? Donnie's been into almost everything... Chinese MA to foreign styles and knows damn right how to adapt to each of them styles just like that! Jet's style is wushu and everything he does in his modern movies are wushu-ish no matter what (he's not good at all on adaptibility), even the boxing he did in Fist Of Legend. have you even watched many Donnie movies?

  • I'm not saying Yen isn't a versatile fighter and performer, nor am I saying he isn't an innovator. I'm simply saying that Donnie Yen being regarded as the successor to Bruce Lee is a disgrace to Lee. Lee, as we all know, will never be equalled in power, speed, skill, or charisma.

  • donnie blows jet li so far out the water its not even funny. you can't compare the two sorry. who is he copying off of bruce. you can say that about anybody. nobody including lee has succesfully added what he added to the kung fu movie genre. he has made his own mark

  • I agree 100% well said

  • donnie yen is the best martial arts fighter of our time

  • É isso ai Donnie Yen é o melhor.

  • Donnie is the man

  • where'd you get the training footage from Donnie's new movie?

  • Which movie is that? at 2:12 with a blonde person.

  • Stormbreaker, it's like Spy Kids for the UK

  • Thanks!

  • He is awesome!

  • Donnie Yen is the best.

  • yen is a beast!

  • I Like Donnie Yen , I think his Trully master of martial art, if you see his movie, his fighting was make sense for example in movie in Kill Zone, he fight knife with a stick and use flyng armbar again Samo Hung. Donnie Your The Best

  • Wow that was great. Where did you get his training video? Can you post the one where he is kicking the bag.

  • What's the music that plays in the background from?

  • it was from dragon tiger gate

  • VERY nice. Donnie Yen really deserves some more recognition as a great screen martial artist and choreography. I'm not a huge fan of most of his hand work, but I feel like his kicks convey so much power, more than Jet Li's or Jackie Chan's.

  • Man this is great I love this video, thanks man!!

    Donnie yen is the beast!!!

  • Where can I find the soundtrack of Dragon Tiger Gate?

  • donnie yen is the shiznik

  • wuts with the hate? every fukin martial arts movie and all martial arts stars has used undercranking, donnie yen is awsome!!!

  • @BeatTG : My opinion is that the last fight in DTG is little speed-up. BTW: Not every undercranking looks cartoonish. Don`t take me wrong, i don`t have anything about undercranking and wires, i love his movies and i am his big fan.

PS: Does anyone have some videos where he trains?

  • I assume when you mean "*VERY* obviously", you mean movies that he directed himself. Doesn't mean it's the same in other movies that he didn't direct. You'r simply basing his worst movies over his great ones (which in fact doesn't have crazy speed-up as you think).

  • Donnie yen undercranking is *VERY* obvious in quite a lot of his movies => his trademark.

  • "Anyway, does anyone recognise the movie shown just before Dragon Tiger Gate in the end, I'm assuming it was from movies he'd choreographed, but I didn't recognise it, the one with the chain-action."

The one with the chain-action is Stormbreaker, kinda lika a Spy Kids movie which Donnie worked on as an action choreographer.

  • STORM BREAKER?

  • "Dragon Tiger Gate has undercranking...the last fight between Donnie and the main villain."

Are you even sure? did it look cartoonish to you? Otherwise it would've been undercranked but it's not cartoonish so it's not undercranked. I think you should analyze things more carefully next time before making a judgment on Donnie's action, it's not all the time he uses undercranking.

  • The majority of the martial arts films released in the late 80s and early to mid nineties used under-cranking, Donnie Yen, Jet Li, Jackie Chan, all of them used it. I saw no noticeable undercranking in SPL, and those fight-scenes are beyond awesome.

Anyway, does anyone recognise the movie shown just before Dragon Tiger Gate in the end, I'm assuming it was from movies he'd choreographed, but I didn't recognise it, the one with the chain-action.

  • Dragon Tiger Gate is undercranking...the last fight between Donnie and the main villain

  • "undercranking is a trademark of his movies."

So can be said to Sammo and Jackie, what's thig big deal? Also, SPL and Dragon Tiger Gate had no undercranking.

  • undercranking is a trademark of his movies.

  • So far the best Donnie Yen montage I've ever seen!!!

  • hes my idol!!!

  • Donnie in CINEASIA,great!!
