i have xbmc and also most of the emulators, but how do you play the emulators thru xbmc. your setup is very impressive.

hey can you play media on xbmc from your pc too? it could be awesome because you dont need extra devices to store your media... btw.. can xbmc play bizarre video formats like MKV, OGM ? (or even divx on 720p/1080p?)

xbmc + xbox is a good choice for home media entertaiment if you can use all this stuff together.

ah i forgot.. can you use remote control (infrared) to use xbmc too?

I just got my component cables. It's awesome. I can actually run Sonic CD from the original game in 720p! It's awesome!

@Karee111 I haven't edited anything. Maybe it has to do with a more recent build of XBMC.

Do you have a tutorial of how to set an xbox up like this? Is it worth using an xbox for this or should you just use a recycled PC or laptop?

I take it it's connected via component cables? Those videos you played, are they actually 720p res files, or lower resolution and upscaled? If it is actually 720p, does it stutter during playback?

I have a modded Xbox with XBMC, rarely use it, but wondering whether i should try to get a component cable and see if it plays 720p vids, cause for a while i read it couldn't?

@teyzar The games are upscaled - this leads to enhanced clarity when paired with certain video filters. It all runs fine in 720p no stuttering (except for a few GBA games). Not sure about the 720p videos though.

hey.. great videos.. i've been dieing to somehow get either my xbox or my extra xbox 360 (that's currently broken.. fixed).. to be modded.. not sure which of the two would be the better choice.. I've read multiple tutorials on how to soft mod / hard mod.. but with my luck (in electronics in general).. i know i'll f*** it up.. so i've never even bothered.. still looking around for somone is capable.. (continued..) anyways.. i'd like to ask you a question or two.. 1) do you know how these games are updated to 720p?.. when natively all of these old games were probably 480i (let alone not even in widescreen?).. i'm guessing to be true 720p.. someone must be greatly tech savy and know how to hack games.. in order to change them to true 720p (which im' sure is no easy feat).. 2) does a modded xbox have to be connected to the internet (always) to work?.. thanks

I am in B'ham too. Is the PS3 media server just the name you gave your network, or is it a media server coming from the PS3? My PS3 recognizes the XMBC media server, but I am unaware if the opposite is true. I use my xbox more than both of the current generation, but I am slowly migrating towards the PS3 espcially now that it has been opened up.

PS3 media server is a program that I am running on my computer. I use it to transcode videos from my computer to my PS3. I would like to migrate to the PS3 eventually, but I really haven't seen anything amazing yet. Do you have any videos or links to some recent developments on the PS3?
