  • fantastic

  • 51 like the music of justin bieber etc.

  • @VerehrterPrinz That comment died a long time ago. Let it rest in peace.

  • Just like Patsy Cline's early death, Imagine what Buddy would have done?

  • Hard to believe he is only 19 here

  • I really like his strap!

  • Hail Buddy Holly!

  • rock n roll master respect of slovenija

  • THESE ARE ROCK AND ROLL SPECIALIST, lol love the way she talks.

    R.I.P. Buddy Holly

  • Shit...what that lady said then, over 50 freaking years ago...she is totally right.

  • it looks like the people ( the ballroom dancers) are looking at buddy lovingly, perhaps even realizing they are seeing something truly special and unique, like there in the midst of a genious ( which of course buddy was )

  • @mezansky Agreed!

  • How are those girls standing still, it must be killing them. He's electric.

  • @THECLASSICROCKNROLL

Let's not generalize. The youth isn't as homogenous as you may think.

  • @rdfronheiser No; they're straight, for the most part!

  • Jerry Allison was such a smooth cat on the drums. He obviously studied jazz.

  • Brilliant music, wish the people of today realized that...

  • I wish I was a rock and roll specialist.

  • I love how the drummer back there is playing it sexy with his funny moves lol

  • I was born and raised in Lubbock Texas. Growing up here, he is and will be a " big deal". He is buried a few streets over from my house. I go there when I need muscial advise.

  • I love Buddy holly! Check out the painting I made of him in my video response.

  • look at that right hand go... buddy holly is still a master and a genius... long live rock n roll

  • Rock and Roll has been going downhill ever since Buddy Holly died!!!!!

  • Back then, a bass... well, really was a bass

  • NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF RACKET!

  • This video is 54 years today, wow! and we are still listening to it :)

  • @Yaelci it's art, no matter how old it is, as long as it's art people will come and look at it

  • people were so loud back then they didnt need microphones.

  • @wetmidget No, people didn't need to scream to listen to a song like today.

  • @cbisauta right. whenever i listen to a song nowadays i'm screaming the whole time.

  • Hi Chuckychanz. More influential than anything that happened in the 60s eh? I would say Holly had not peaked and his life was cut short before he could. More influential than Dylan, Pink Flloyd, Ray Charles, Presley and Roy Orbison? All of whom rose to fame in the 1960s.

  • Well i can sort of understand jumping about if its at a heavy metal concert or something (although i would never do it coz it looks retarded). It's just whenever i see someone dancing who can't do it on a proffesional level i just think "Why is it ok to make yourself look so incredible fucking ridiculous just because you're listening to music." Sit back relax and enjoy all the music has to offer...

  • @P4pJokerBits I agree with this. I feel so awkward when I'm at a concert and everyone else is dancing. But for the actual players, their job is to entertain, so they need to move around, IMO.

  • Check out the people at the back, that's how you properly listen to someone perform, not all this jumping about bullshit!!! Ok maybe they're a little stiff but still you get the idea

  • @P4pJokerBits ...That's how you listen when you are a white with a broomstick in the ass... that also give a good idea on how groovy this music is. Thanks god they've been some improvement (cf The Black Crowes). I literally HATE going to a concert when everybody is calm and stand still, if you want to do that, stay home and watch a concert on your DVD and don't ruin the concert, also if you were a musican you would hate those people...

  • square audience.

  • My favourite music clip of all time and even without the video it's just great

  • pity-pity-pity-peggy sue, my peggy sue-ue-ue-ue (buddy holly, the original rock-n-roll nigger).

  • The young people

  • more influential than anything that happened in the 60's

  • you're welcome John and Paul and George!

  • as a youngster, i don't understand this.

  • Thank You !

  • ROCK 'N' ROLL HAS CHANGED A LOT SINCE THE 50`S

  • @beimlmla now in days you got some lame ass kid rock

  • @beimlmla really? i didn't notice...

  • @beimlmla yea it lost the threat

  • Is Allison just playing the snare with the snare turned off ?

  • @Drrummer That's right.

  • @6arcsn1sky Thanks.

  • @Drrummer i dont know but it sounds freakin cool

  • Is it true that Buddy Holly faked his death, was he the one in the grassy knoll singing "That'll Be The Day That you say Goodbye?"

  • MOSH PIT!!!!!!!!!

  • TY Buddy..

No idea of the impact you made on music itself..

  • Comment removed

  • i hear this song eveytime b4 school.

  • love it!!!!!!

  • peggy sue

  • Why is everyone in the video just standing around? I thought this was supposed to be a DANCE PARTY!

  • i'm 23 and love, love, love this music...as long as there are people my age to hear it, buddy holly will live forever

  • Buddy Holly 4ever!!!!1000*

  • such a crush on buddy holly...i swear..

  • What a reasonable statement that old lady made about trying to understand the younguns!

  • @frrrrrunkis

I know right. She tried to understand the youth of the times. In todays climate or even in the 60's to 90's no 'old' person would utter such words of acceptance.

  • @Nikko4566 This song has as much meaning as any 3 chord punk song. Oh wait.

  • Buddy Holly is an amazing musician. He gave us so much in such a short time. I can't imagine how all those women standing behind Buddy could just stand there like statues while he was singing. I cannot listen to him without moving and dancing up a storm! He stirs my spirit. Thank you Buddy.

  • You can't tell me people used to be outraged by this, like buddy holly...

I'm sorry by the girl who introduces them acts like people had a problem with them because they were "rock and roll" lmao... shit... If I could go back in time I would create death metal early (not because i'm a fan), but death metal in the 50's would probably send the entire country in an outrage... would be enjoyable

  • @13Hunched31 LOL Death Metal in the 50s would have been played through 25 watt amps, would never have been recorded, and would likely have landed the band in jail. Hendrix, 10 years later, created and controlled amplified distortion, and he left audiences smoking like fresh bomb craters, but was relatively inoffensive by today's standards.

  • How can 48 people dislike this?

  • That's alot of great music from only 3 guys...

  • Febuary 3rd 1959. The day the music died.... Rest in Peace Buddy Holly.

  • early punk rock just get rid of the queer holding the viola and put travis on drums

  • Outstanding man!!

  • Only Buddy Holly & the Crickets could play so fast and act so nonchalant about it..

  • Drummer has a devilock

  • Buddy lives!

  • Goddamn was he talented.

  • wild and savage guitar strumming

  • Buddy Holly inspired many later R&R Super Groups,The Beatles,The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton,The Day That Music Died,RIP Buddy,Richie and The Big Bopper! God Bless Them All

  • are they lip syncing? I dont see a cable from his guitar... and no mic.... I cant tell though lol...

  • this is what they called dance parties than?

  • am i the only one who thinks that drum beat is just amazing and hypnotic

  • This is great, wished there was a tape to The Winter Dance Party in Clear Lake.

  • legend

  • rock's first punks!!! gotta love it!

  • @tommy1gtr Yes buddy's right hand = johnny ramone's right hand

  • @MaladaptiveCatalyst Care to elaborate on your reasons as to why this song 'sucks'

  • @MaladaptiveCatalyst So do idiots.

  • Comment removed

  • @bobtoni90 Rather subdued weren't they? Ha-ha! I thought they may have all been zombies or something, until they finally clapped their hands at the end.

  • Perfect Buddy! Klippt väl!

  • I dig that term "Rock and roll specialist"

  • @vanriver11 ELVIS SUCKS!

  • Buddy Holly, forever!!

  • my grandfather says if he was still alive, he would be more popular than Elvis.

  • @TheDudelikeCrackers he's right... elvis isn't even in the same league

  • @TheDudelikeCrackers well we may never know...

  • @TheDudelikeCrackers How did you speak to your grandfather if he is died? Wigi Board?

  • @andym0rand02 he's talking about buddy holly......

  • @andym0rand02 my grandfathers not dead, buddy holly is....

  • @TheDudelikeCrackers I think that Ritchie would be more of a success than both of them since he became very famous in 7 months and with just 3 songs that were his biggest hits but thats just my opinion. But Buddy Holly would also be more popular but now we have no way of knowing since they both died 52 years ago

  • @TheDudelikeCrackers

    Your grandfather ROCKS! \m/

  • @TheDudelikeCrackers your grandpa is right

  • @TheDudelikeCrackers and the Beatles

  • "Rock´n roll specialists" LOL

  • Love buddy holly

  • I wish I grew up in the 40s and 50s :(

I just wasn't made for these times...

  • @OneCrayGuy89 not a good idea would be in your eighties now

  • @mrmagicroundcircle Exactly- I wouldn't have to worry about texting everybody and keeping in touch with facebook. I would have had real friends in the 50's, wouldn't need an internet (although you gotta love Youtube) and I could die a happy man. Plus, if I were 80, I would more than likely be retired- I'm 21 right now, and with the economy the way it is, I will probably work until I die.

    Hence, 50s > now.

  • @OneCrayGuy89 noticed your interest in the paranormal try accessing the akashic records much better than u tube

  • @mrmagicroundcircle Hey, thanks for the tip! I'll check it out :D

  • that

    that audience is fuckin sarry

    Everyone stood fuckin still

  • @dreadbet

Eh, SORRY? Yeah, it's 1957. People actually knew how to dance with another person. Not just flail around by themselves.

  • @LTF6161

I don't see any fuckin dance dear :P

  • wow what a time that must have been

  • If Glee covers Buddy Holly, let my wrath begin.

  • What Is the song called

  • @eewtv ...........Peggy Sue.....

  • Don't know how accurate The Buddy Holly Story starring Gary Busey as Buddy is but Gary did a wonderful job with the part. Hope he was as mice as portrayed.

He was a musical genius and the real king of rock and roll.

  • Buddy Holly = the real king of rock n' roll

  • Dreamy. <3

  • the people in the audience are so square its hurting my eyes

  • @astroboirap

    And you're so cool...looking back from 2011.

  • @LTF6161 i know i am, i dont need a nobody like you to tell me.

  • @astroboirap

And you are who exactly? Brad Pitt? (No he would be more modest). And your's has to be one of the weakest rejoinders (look it up) that I have seen on Youtube in quite some time.

  • @LTF6161 i am brad pitt actually... and i think you stink! hwah ha ha

  • if it wasn't for the big bopper on that day we would have lost another fine soul known as waylon jennings

  • @jwpaskeuric I'd rather have neither

  • @jwpaskeuric or if his 2 band mates never would have left the band, he'd still be here

  • Happy Birthday Buddy !

    See you ...

  • @lastsinger What are you talking about? His birthday is September 7th.

  • @JiggyMonster98

Oh, I saw a TV Show where they said he now would be 75. That's why I thought it's his birthday.

The show was therefor too early.

  • legend simple

  • too much weezer when i type Buddy Holly

  • @seandanielpugh If you want to look up something but avoid getting certain results then put a minus sign in front eg type... buddy holly -weezer

  • Pee Wee Herman would make a good Buddy Holly.

  • thumbs up if u listen this in 2011

  • Such a shame, he should have gotten a few more years, I would have loved to see what more he would have made.

  • I was born too late too, in late 1956 so I missed the birth of rock & rol
