I can only accept votes from 16 -22 year olds in 1988. This was the time when hairbands exploded onto the scene. I love the bands you mentioned. Add in Faster pussycat and the Bulletboys, Cindarella Winger and a few more and we have the ultimate hair band tops list. Poison I have to say,really put the "hair metal" genre on the map.

GNR is great, but I consider them less glam than the others. At least not in the way the others were. They're about as glam as Aerosmith, KISS, and Queen. Maybe a small glam period, but not enough to be called glam.

Also, how the hell can you put Crue at 8? They, along with Poison, are the quintessential glam bands. When you say glam, those are the 2 that are mentioned first.

Although there are some similarities between G'n'R and those other glam bands (check out Axl's hair in the 'Welcome to the Jungle' video) I wouldn't classify them as a glam metal band. In fact, I think GNR and their raw, heavy, sound got so far away from everything else in that scene, that they in fact helped kill glam metal and opened the door for grunge to move on in a few years later. Btw, almost everything GNR did still holds up, you can't say that for the rest of those bands.

Glam Rock never died untill the mid '80s. The same thing happened to Glam Metal in the '90s when Grunge and House music took over.
