  • Those were the days

  • where you get this from..... ??

  • Nice!

  • I blame seeing this clip thirteen years or so ago for my synesthesia lol :)

  • This part really facinated me

  • I always used to think that the people didn't like the number 8 when they said it. |D "Eight... >->"

  • I used to love watching all of the numbers pop out of everything.

  • I love this! It's actually one of my favorite Sesame Street segments, and what's more, it was uploaded here on my 13th birthday (04/07/2007)! Neat!

  • I always hoped the number of the day was 19 or 20 so all the locations were shown

  • @candyman81cb me too lol! I used to get upset when it stopped at like 15 or something

  • 21 and u drink

That's why it went up to 20

    Cause it's for younges hehe

  • @TheMrOct I think it only goes up to 20 because most kids who watch this show can't count that high. Or else it would take too long to count higher.

  • This was where I first learned to count

  • The relaxing music reminds me of how much easier life was when I was a kid. Wish I could go back to those days.

  • Anyone notice how the shadows move when the number go up and down? So many things you re-discover from being a kid.

  • where is your other numbers? like 21 to100?

  • Oh my gosh, I love this!! Where does the time go? I'm trying to find a Sesame Street counting video for 14. The one that I'm thinking of has real kids in it (I feel like they jump rope, but it's been a looooooonnnnnng time since I've seen it...I might be confusing two different clips), and when they get up to 14, they go "Fourteen! Fu-fu-fu-fourteen!" My mom and I still joke about it, but I can't find it anywhere! Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?

  • Wasn't there also a zero for when the number of the day was zero? Or did they just show no numbers and say "Zero!"?

  • I seen 12 also, and also 9. Nobody seen 12 and 9? this went up to 12 thrice and 9 twice because I remember 21 also

  • I SWEAR that is also went to 12, I said to myself when it stopped to 10, "Is it gonna continue?" cause I LOVE rare segments. I remember the minimum (9). It didn't go to 10 nor 11. I remember the one that it went to 9. It was cool, nor ever a single dislike to these ones, 12 and 9. I swear to god I seen it.

  • I swear to god this went to 21 once. I REMEMBER it. I was like 4 or 5. But I distinctly remember because it blew my mind!

  • @MikeinPurple I remember that, I saw the one up to 21, but it was so rare that it aired

  • to this day i want to find those locations.

  • @penguinmaster7 and those numbers.

  • @ScottQB4 totally

  • I would always wonder where the numbers go after.

  • hahaha, how ironic; Im now 20 years old, this is the only segment I trully remember when I watched this as a toddler

  • This was very useful, now I can go and brag to

all my graduated friends that I know how to

    count up to 20 already!

  • This was where I first learned to count. I know it's weird I remember that after all these years.

  • I've been looking for this

  • reminds me of curb your enthusiasm

  • I love love loved this vid when I was 4....used to wonder how 16, 17, and 18 could pop up through concrete....I was a wierd kid :p

  • thank you very much for this video, the last time I saw this was when I was very little, it brings back memories :]

  • When I was little, I had dreams based around this segment. The numbers in the dreams would always go to high numbers that Sesame Street probably won't ever touch upon in more than one segment. I'd hit somewhere between 50-100, maybe even higher, before waking up.

  • Surprising, isn't it?

  • Oh, yeah. I remember this as a kid. The latest appearance was when it went up to 14 on episode 4197 (on season 40, the latest season).

  • i saw this on sesame street this morning

  • @wattamack4 i love u 4 uploading ths :) lol

  • This is just awesome, I love the 90's

  • Cool video, we like the style.

  • Can You Try To Get Videos In HQ Please.

  • do u have the 1 wheres this man is holding numbers and showing them @ parks?

  • that's the one i've been looking for! lol

  • @sasukeluver345 Look in the Related Videos, the one that says

    "Sesame Street - Stop-motion numbers"

  • I miss the old shows too....& i always wondered how they shot this lol

  • HAHA me 2!

  • This was the good old days since more than 12 years.

    I miss the old shows.

    Those were the memories.

  • This was my favorite!! I never got a chance to see it go up to 20! This is great! Thank you!

  • Up until now, I've never seen this go to 20 and now I have! Thanks for sharing! :D

  • The animator is Jane Aaron, who did a similar series of alphabet shorts and "First Leaf, Last Leaf".

  • i used to love the music to this because the music was relax and chill i could just rest my little mind oh yea still love the music to this!!

  • this never gets old for me, this was my favorite part of sesame street.

  • @kl0vis lol yeah mine too :]

  • OMG I HAVENT SEEN THIS I WAS LIKE 5

  • man i always loved this segment..this really brings back memories!!

  • Yaa that was the only reason i would watch this show...lol jus 4 this part. and i would always get sad if it did not reach 20.

  • startting at 33 seconds with the nubmers 11 to 13 you can see on the shadow on the door the sun moving showing how slow they used stop animation

  • i'd shit myself i saw a number just randomly rise from the ground. o_O

    but good memories.

    90's kidd :D

  • I've Also Seen it go up to #16, And #18. I'm Not Sure about 7.... Nope I Haven't.

  • OMG! *memories!!*

  • *is slapped in the face by nostalgia*

  • Know where i can get just the theme music from this?

  • One of the most famous Sesame Street segments of all time. Been shown since its inception in like the 70's I think.

  • this is my favorite number skid in sesame street! i remeber watching this just the other day! i am so lucky to have grown up with such awsome children programs. jim henson rest in peace!

  • hey wattamack do u have songs of the numbers 15 and 18. 15 where it was the number 15 blues and the 18 things for lunch

  • Wow, I remember *all* these number things from Sesame Street. They've had such a strong impression on me.

  • It would be really cool if Sesame Street did something for numbers much greater than 20, like if this could go to 50 or something... now THAT would be incredible.

  • Back in the 80s and early 90s, there were a lot of sketches about counting to 40; there have also been a few about counting to 100 (although those sketches counted it by 10s),

  • Comment removed

  • Just had the same reaction. But not so much swearing. X3

  • i love this one too its been a while and a half scent they shown this

i love when they got to 20 lol

  • Ya I know! I'd always be dissappointed when they would stop half way through lol

  • ooh man tell me about it 7 8 9 ....9!! like what the hell wheres the rest of them lol

  • OMG, I loved this. I would always be disapointed when it would stop at 12 or something and not finish

  • yeah I hated that i wanted them to go all the way

  • another awesome sesame street joint. this one is probaby from the mid to late '80s

  • this has a 70s feel to it, don't ya think?

  • If you look closely at 17, you can see a shadow go from left to right, maybe a plane.

  • Or maybe the camera man or crew.

  • i think its a tree branch, a plane would move too fast for this and planes fly too high but bords might show up as a quick shadow in one of the frames but they would just use the best pic in the animation

  • wow playgrounds dont look like this anymore lolz .. they're alot nicer

  • does anyone know how old this is?

  • My favourite clip.

  • great video!

  • What was the highest this ever went? I think the highest I remember was like 24 or 25.

  • you remember wrong, it was 20

  • Ok, but I could have swore I seen it go higher. Thanks tho

  • there was an episode in the mid-90s with a sponsor number of 21.

  • Two US episodes had 21 as a sponsor in the mid-90s; one featured the "Numberella" sketch and the other featured Ernie's "12 and 21" poem. The only Sesame episodes with a sponsor higher than 21 were produced in other countries; I've seen one Plaza Sésamo "dedicated to" the number 40 and all five vowels, for instance.

  • i used to love dis when i was young... except for when the number was 4 or something and they jus stopped!

  • 1991

  • this skit was cool too how they made it, this was recorded off NH public TV

  • why did they spend time animating the numbers going down when they could have just reversed the footage of them going up, cause i dont think the kids are going to notice the shadows moving in the background, and if they do, they probably already have an idea on how this was made anyway.

  • I never understood why they sounded sad when they said '8' :P

  • I remember this one. I liked id, I do not know why. now I make stop motion movies.

  • DONT GET ME WRONG BUT I RELIZED SESAME STREETS FRAME HAS EEN GETTING LONG THESE FRAMES ARE 6-8 SECONDS LONGS NOW THEY ARE 3-4 SECONDS LONG THIS IS WHAT CAUSES SORT ATTENTION SPANS. but sesame street was awsome back then.....

  • hey wattamack do you have any of these:

a vid that shows one guy holding the numbers for example the number 7 the guy is acting as waiter and serving the number to a girl and her mom

And the other one I hope you got is one that weird looking creatures are holding the numbers in a parade and the numbers 10 & 20 are always on somekind of dinosaur's back

Do you know those two I'm talking about?

  • The second one has already been posted and I do have the first one but it only goes to 13.

  • oh do you know who posted the parade one?

  • Sesamestreet66.

  • I wanted to do a parody someday.

  • @MrX867 wat do u mean by the parade one? how does it look?

  • sesamestreet66 posted the first one u're tlaking about but it also only goes up till 13

  • Weird lol.

  • ahhh ive been looking for this one forever!!! thank you!!

my other favorite is where a black girl in a lavender colored shirt is walking down a hallway of doors and each time she has to decide which door to pick, and behind each one she has a different adventure....

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!! i would love to see that again!!

  • You're talking about alphaquest.

  • @wattamack4 hey do you know about the one with the dancing tall puppets against a dark background? that kinda creeped me out when i was a kid.

  • @wattamack4 Dude i've been wanting to know what that was called for about 15 years, it was one of my favorites cuz of the music!! Thx

  • @aileens7 Yes! I loved that egment too! I can't find it on here

  • classic stuff - classic!

  • Thanks to this, I was counting to 20 (and beyond) in kindergarten.

  • I was just learning how to count when I was pre Kindergarten Kindergarten and in 1st grade

I learned how to count to 20 in 1st grade

  • Haha one of my fav bits of sesame st

  • This was so cool. I remember watching it every day, hoping for it to go to 20 so I'd see the whole thing.

  • Haha, me too. I always wanted it to go beyond 20.

  • this is amazing to watch when ur stoned

  • My all time favourite :D

  • This was the counting skit I grew up with.

  • What about Rubber Stanp#20,creatures forming numbers#20,clowns with horns#20,and that freaky animation with numbers going all the way to 20?

  • I think sawing14s have the Rubber Stamp #20. Ask him about that skit: "I am not spitting on your face, please grant my request" i haven't seen it for a while.

  • Sorry,he gets annoyed when asking that.

  • He doesn't want that skit on YouTube?

  • No,he gets annoyed when people tell him what to post.

  • I want that Rubber Stamp skit on YouTube.

  • Well if I can get my vcr repaired so I can actually get picture when recording a Sesame Street episode I can get that segment because it recently aired in one of the later episodes.

  • OK.

  • wattamack yes this is another countig skit you been paying attention. Now, what else could it be? lol

  • Yes, that's it! Those were the good ole days...

  • Nice! I LOVE this classic short! I remember right after this came the numbers in different figures, like the 1 holding the umbrella, the 4 jumping, the 5 growing fur, the 8 skating, and the 9 smiling, all the way to 20. If you or anyone else has that, I'll be eternally grateful when it's posted!

  • You mean those numbers

    1 holding an umbrella

    2, 12, and 20 all soaking wet

3 and 13 are cat and rat

    4 and 14 are rabbits

    5 15 are I think peacocks

    6 16 are dogs

    7 17 are sea creatures

    8 18 go skating

    9 19 smiling

  • I remember those!I don't have the one where it goes all the way to 20 though.

  • yes

  • that animation with the pineapple i, forg 5, etc.

  • Is that another counting sketch?

  • shat about the segment that starts with the pineapple 1; it should go all the way up to 20

  • Pineapple 1?What the heck are you talking about?

  • He's talkin' about the calyspo count that goes up to 19 (not 20), yes 19, the same number of castaways from Survivor Fiji.

  • Even though it only went to 19, it was my favorite.

  • Are you talking about that freaky animation where various things show numbers on them like eyes crying turn into a 10?

  • yep

  • i love that one. does anyone have it?

  • I've got it but it doesn't go all the way to 19 unfortunetly.

  • but is it on youube? if so what do i type?

  • It's not on Youtube unfortunetly.

  • i also like the one where numbers have faces. there is a number 1 with an umbrella, a number 4 which looks like a rabbit, a number 8 with roller skates and a number 9 with teeth. do u know which one i am talking about? do u have it?

  • I've got that one but it only goes to 14.

  • is it on youtube? whats it called?

  • It's not on Youtube either.Sawing14s might have it.

  • Well, about the Animal Morphed Numbers, can you upload it for #14, and remove when you discover a Animal Morphed Numbers segment #(higher number than 14)?

  • i don't mean to be pushy but i looked Sawing14s doesnt have it. can u please upload the Animal Morphed #14?

  • actually i found it. it's called Exotic number creatures
