The Federal Reserve can create trillions of dollars out of thin air and not tell anyone about it because they work in secret. Ron Paul's been trying to shed some light on this for decades and now people are finally listening. The Federal Reserve is the biggest problem facing America. @RJWooller I live in the DC area. Downsizing the federal govt would affect my family directly by dampening the DC area housing market and local economy. The DC economy is currently humming along quite well thanks to all the bureaucrats and defense contractors here. However I believe if tax payers' dollars stopped paying for bureaucrats' and tax accountants' salaries, and tax payers could instead spend their money on things that they need, the national economy would improve.
