I saw the original ACG once during Nightmare tour...Buxton was to fucked up to play on stage, his damn guitar was unplugged,,,,Bob Ezrin guitarist, Hunter and Wagner were hidden offstage playing Glenn's parts and their parts from the album...Never really saw the whole band play...Show was good...Can you believe Alice is still at it...This is 73 and he sound, looks like HELL...
@kafabe58 ....You are correct it was the Billion Dollar Babies Tour and someone pointed out it wasn't Hunter and Wagner but a guitarist that Alice used for "Muscle of Love"...I did see the Nighmare Tour and I didn't like parts of it...It wasn't gritty enough and too stagey....I was a teenager who was a big metal fan at the time...
My best buddy and me were at the coliseum that night. I would never be able to explain or describe how awesome this show was. We sat up in the cheap seats right of rear of stage with some interesting fans with some just as interesting smokes. We were scared but made our way down onto the floor and it got even weirder. This show was being filmed by the BBC. Alice unfurled a giant American Flag at the end and shot of fireworks. I puked scrambled eggs the next morning on the bus to school.
Happy Birthday Vincent Furnier! Thank God I saw you in the day, when you put on an outstanding show. I stopped going to your shows when you dropped your mates for Cheryl, the dancing tooth. Please put the original band back together and do one last concert tour with them for all of us old-timers!!! Just one more time, let us see the hard kick-ass rock and roll group that built your empire (rest in peace, Glen Buxton) and let these kids today see what the REAL Alice Cooper band was all about!
the alice cooper band tore it up in the early 70`s..this was a great show from a great tour....you gotta dig Alice workin` his mojo on the "boat-load-of-shrimp" in the first row. Alice is "Big & Fast" baby!!!!!
Classic audience - baiting...This stuff was censored from the Rhino B$B release.
If and when Alice goes to the Hall of Fame Induction , it's going to cost thousands , if not tens of thousands , of dollars to get the others their tickets , but , he'll surely spring for it. He's long since strengthened ties with the surviving Alice Cooper Group. They've played two shows together , and are doing another this onth , in Phoenix.
There ya have it folks...This is the guy that scared the Jesus out of Parents all around the world and kicked off what we now know as shock rock. Nice going Alice..Love it to death!
They had already been playing this song for a year and a half...I know how bored you get with some tunes being a musician...I use to swallow my own spit and shit on the stage myself!!!
this is an amazing clip..and a little sad..You can see the booze really taking over and the boredom,,I gave up on Alice in summer of '73 but the original band were stunning lookers and excellent musicians..and best of all, underneath it all..just regular good fellas!
@mcp666 Well yeah your right, it doesn't matter. that was funny though how Alice was just pissing him off when he just started laughing about it, calling him a fag.
Alice (Vincent Fornier) Cooper is not in the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Well, this is going piss Iggy off. Let me tell you, the last thing you want is Iggy Pop angry, for any reason. Not in the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Disgrace.
The fact is that the overall music scene was so good in the 60's and 70's you could just switch on a little transister radio with a 9 volt battery and a tiny speaker (mono) and you would have great music. New stuff was coming out all the time. No need for ipods or comuters. Yes, there was FM and great sterieo speakers, ect. but you could easily get by with a little radio, that used the free airwaves.
lol. and i'm from cleveland. my whole life. right. here. same. 30-mile. stretch. along. lake. erie. and i have to say... wth. abba . great band. but yes, and no a.c.?? ac in my trailer/house/apartment window during the summer, yes, but... no a.c. in the r n r hall of fame? ok. something is srsly wrong here. :D
stunning. stones, kiss, guns, manson all shock and surprise for a brief time but it wears off quick. and i'm a huge kiss fan. but something about early alice still has a edge to it. over 30 years later and it still is pushing the limits
Was in the audience for the Houston show - April 29, 1973, not April 30. great show, the band was & show was amazing. Alice not in the Hall of Fame, but Abba is set to be inducted? What a joke the Hall of Fame is.
@terriner lol, yeah it is a joke. they actually enlisted alot of idiots in the hall of fame. in the rock & roll history museum they actually had snoop dogg inducted into it... like wtf!?!?!?!? i can only imagine who else they inducted in it. it's sad that they only inducted very little worthy people in it. instead of the hall of fame they might as well call it the hall of posers!

Hmmm. Alice makes a total asshole of himself. The "faggot" comment was most unfortunate. Had I seen anything like that when I was an Alice Cooper fanatic, in the early seventies, I wouldn't have listened to him anymore. He was eclipsed by much more talented acts anyway. A few years after this, he was already a has-been, playing golf and drinking martinis and showing him for the stupid, bourgeois fool that he is.
@strangeparty Actually, Alice got called a "faggot" himself quite a bit in the early days, .. even got beaten up on a few occasions, and he'd always laugh and joke about it too ! It was just Alice's sense of humor back then. He was always very irreverent back in those days, and THIS was long before "political correctness" took hold in modern culture, .. hell, THIS was the SAME era when people were also laughing at Archie Bunker on television!!
@strangeparty Oh, and I dont know who these acts are whom you think "eclipsed" him ( Fleetwood Mac or somebody ? ), but I haven't found there've been very many other acts in modern music as creative, original, interesting and entertaining as Alice Cooper. And I certainly continued following him long after THIS era and have liked all his albums up until Constrictor ( his first dud in my book ).
At around 4:12 some guy is flipping Alice off after that sarcastic remark he made. Yeah. Around that time, he was kinda an asshole and he didn't really care about anything but girls. His music was great at that time, though. Once he met Sheryl, he became more cool, and less of a man-whore.
@TheNightmare75 Exactly! Funny thing is, alot of punk rock groupes ( like namely Fear and the Sex Pistols )were kind of doing THAT later on ( verbaly confronting the audience, insulting them, even spiting on them ), but much more agresively and viciously. Alice always did it in a good natured and funny kind of way though.
I was at this show! My first concert ever! Totally influenced me as a performer. I thought all rock shows were supposed to be this big. Boy was I disappointed for many years after lol! Check out my channel to see some great performances of Alice Cooper songs by my band - Love It To Death.
