Marleau had a great year, and was injured in the playoffs in case you forgot. Thornton was playing banged up also. I don't know what the deal is with this team but it's the same old story every year. They TEAR IT UP in the regular season but for some reason, just hit a wall in the playoffs. It's really hard to believe these guys haven't made the Stanley Cup Finals AT LEAST one time.

yeah you guys have to of forgotten the salary cap if we had them with while we have heatley man we would be a force not to reckon with, but since theres a cap it kinda limits the sharks i personally think we should of traded ehrhoff and lukowhich and a 3rd round for craig rivet, he was a great leader, maybe not captain status but he knows what he was doing, i remember the sharks were shooken up and rivet never stopped talking about dont give up he always pushed them forward.

Uh yeah I don't think having McGinn, Mitchell, and Ortmeyer is a good enough line to be called a 3rd line. Hopefully we can pick up at least one more decent forward within our remaining cap space.

Even though im a Ducks fan, i can admit it is a good trade, real hell of a good trade but my concern (no offense to shark fans) its another set back trading away two good offensive fowards Cheechoo and Michalek thats the big concern im worried about the Sharks development. soo far i think they were going to be fine without the trade cause everything was clicking just right they just have to show more pasion when it comes to playoff time

Thanks. I think we have decent prospects but as long as the sharks have a good mix of rookies and vets then we may be fine. The Ducks have an even better Defense and Offense this year

Marleau had a great year, and was injured in the playoffs in case you forgot. Thornton was playing banged up also. Thornton did what he always does pass and look for his teammates, if they don't score it's going to make Thornton look bad, but in reality he's doing the same exact thing ever since he's come to SJ.

sharks werent as great a team last year as everybody thought.... they played well for 2 months and backed into the presidents trophy. Personal opinion....Marleau, Nabokov and Cheechoo for Kovalchuk and Lehtonen

i know the sharks havent played well in the playoffs, they havent wanted to win it enough, but i guarantee you though, they will be a lot hungrier and angrier next year because they have something to prove. if the sharks play as well as they do in the regular season in the playoffs and have that fire, the cup will go to the sharks and the red wings wont get even close to it.

i don't think it matters who has a "C" or an "A" on their jerseys..everyone should be motivated and emotional during the playoffs..you don't need your captain to motivate you..you yourself should be hungry to win the cup

that is tue everyone should be motivating themselves to make the playoffs, but the thing is that a captain usually has something more special and more unique to offer in terms of leadership and thats why they get chosen to be captain. Take Jarome Iginla for example, hes the best player on the Flames and hes the captain, he provides a kind of leadership that no one else on his team has.

i agree with you man, Marleau had his times but ive seen it recently that hes been less motivation then he used to be. but it also might be that he has been injured lately and doesnt have the speed potential he used to. i say give the C to Cheechu, hes a hell of a player all around. and led the sharks pretty good in the '07- '08 season.
