I think your results were not "lay down" flat because you air dried a bit first. You can get a much straighter result with the same amount of heat that you used, actually even less, depending on technique and/or products used.
The silk touch leave in has sodium hydorxide and I want to know its it safe to use on natura? I want to give it a try but not sure. I use to use it when I was relaxed but not sure now that am in the natural department.
Can I just say how much I love this video? I have a similar hair texture as yours, and the same blow-dryer, and I've always wanted to do a blowout on it, but I didn't know how. UNTIL NOW! Thanks for showing me how to do it, and I will definitely go try those hair products you used.
I wanted to ask when u wana go back to your nappy styles from straightened 4b hair, what is ur routine? Do u just cowash and dc? My hair has been straight for a week. I want to go back to two strand twist or defined curl set...thank u
@PassionDancer44 My routine is: I clarify my hair with suave clarifying shampoo to remove all of the buildup and any silicones... then I do a light protein treatment with aphogee 2 minute reconstructor, then deep condition, then detangle right before rinsing the conditioner out. I NEVER detangle before i use the 2 minute reconstructor because my hair is weaker from using the heat, etc.
I am new to styling my own hair...I went natural 2 years ago and was on the brink of going back to a relaxer this week. Thank you for the tutorial. I appreciate the step-by-step as I was never one to take care of my own hair (reformed, once-a-week beauty shop devoted. My learning curve is REALLY big! :)
This is just a cheap Conair blowdryer from Walmart (has comb attachment)... If you are looking for a high wattage blow dryer, I recommend going to Sally's Beauty Supply - they have a million.... The Yellowbird is VERY POWERFUL.... I have that one too.
with that aphogee green tea restructurizer how often do u use that..I bought this a few months back & have not used it yet..cause i originally got it when i had some braids in my hair..or do u only use these products when u r straightenin ur hair? thx for ur help & advice..keep up the good work
I only use it when I want to blow dry or flat iron... It gives the hair extra strength so it doesn't break as easily when handling it with heat... This is the 1st time I straightened my hair all over... About a year ago I tried, but gave up after getting a third way up the back.
I still have a twa, but I BC'd by myself (w/ my husbands help) and I want to blow my hair out so I can get it trimmed/shaped professionally. But I'm so scared to do it b/c of stories of heat damage I have heard. This is the first video I've seen that makes me think that it is possible to blow my hair out with a slim chance of heat damage to occur. Thanks for another great tut! 5 stars *****
I BC'd by myself also... Don't be scared of heat damage, just be knowledgeable and you will have NO problems.... You must understand products and what they CAN and CANNOT do.... The method I use ensures NO heat damage... When you get ready to do it, shoot me an email and I can explain in more detail... I lost some footage where I explained about the products and what they actually do when using heat.
My hair curls up very shortly after blow drying it. I won't even bother anymore.

@TawanaNicole: I agree, I always start with my ends the move upwards. I use the same procedure when I detangle. Makes the whole process easier!
