  • the one and only who should sing this is Shane Mcgowan

  • I listen to Dubliners since i was in elementary school. When you listen to Ronnie's voice it seems like you knew him. Regards from Serbia!

  • bono iz a gobshite..

  • The fierce love and ownership the Irish people feel for Ronnie Drew is touching. I sing the auld triangle to my kids as a lullaby in my best (worst) RD voice.

  • good man yourself ronnie, what a hero your music will live on forever

  • @Ghigo333 It's Shane Mc.Gowan of The Pouqes

  • The end is emotional..R.I.P both Gerry and Ronnie..

  • Im from the uk i know you all hate us but i have love this mans music . thank you RONNIE.

  • I want to say sorry to Bono

I saw you singing the old triangle with U2?and you didn't seem to remember the words.

Said you were disrespectful but after seeing this vidio I take it back.

    Sorry !

Am in tears Ronnie I miss you !

  • thanks for the memories lads.ronnie&jerry..

  • thanks for the memories lads.ronnie&jerry..

  • this song is sooooo tacky

ronnie was a legend, so five stars to him

  • IRISH SPRIT NEVER BEAT IT

  • thank you for this...Ronnie Drew - he was a great great great irish Musican!!! We will never forget!!!

  • Ronnie Drew...rest in peace. You paved the road for all the Irish musicians that came after. Apint for you lad.

  • chris the burgh, the corrs, some of boyzone, a pissed shane mcgowan, bertie, a solemn insincere gerry ryan for christs sake

    ronnie deserved better

  • this is the first time i have seen ronnie ill and i shed a tear ime 18 and am sad to say thit in my lifetime we have lost the best singer ever to have lived the only other person that is in the same world is luke kelly god rest and god bless them, one day i will meet and buy them a drink

  • Brill!!!

  • god bless Ronnie Drew nd Gerry Ryan two irish entertainers legends! rip

  • 2 years without Ronnie! RIP!

  • the voice of dublin..the voice of an era..voice of a nation..RIP ronnie drew..

  • At 4:30 Shane says something like: "Something like, eh, ya know, "best of luck Ronnie, see ya later" ya know, like, ya know, and, ya know, i can't, "slan go foill" or something."

"Slan go foill" is the Irish for "bye for now".

By the way, I saw on a programme about Gerry Ryan after his own death that just after Ronnie finished singing "The Auld Triangle" here, he said something like "That'll be the last time I ever sing that"....how fuckin poignant.

    Ronnie, just an out-and-out legend.

  • What Was The Last thing That you Said To Ronnie? > Well um frhhhfn mommsd mojig and (snuff) fhot rjio jdbh<............................ WHAT?

  • @mkonjhg1 LOL - Gotta love Shane

  • Comment removed

  • I have never before seen Ronnie when he had chemotherapy. Very sad to see him without his characteristic beard:-( RIP Ronnie, we miss you

  • 4:30 Shane says it better than anyone could. RIP Ronnie!

  • It's so sad to think that both Gerry and Ronnie have passed away now.

    R.I.P

  • its weird that gerry is doing the commentery and now gerry is dead asweel :(

  • irony

  • @joelangan I was thinking exactly the same thing. Gerry and Ronnie, back together again in the great beyond.

  • Fantastic! Wow...the last song just was amazing...

    Thanks for sharing...

  • It was so sad to see Ronnie sick but he could still sing. He never lost that voice. RIP Ronnie.

  • What a Ledgend R.I.P.

  • What's the big deal. Biggotry comments? It's just a short documentary for watching if you want to or otherwise wheesht yer duddie unless you have something constructive to say. Good on you Slipstool.

  • a much better tribute to ronnie is "the bould ronnie drew" by dunne and dunner have a look it puts this to shame!

  • listen ye cunts whats with the bad comments, ronnie sang with heart and jerry was the man for the interview and stay in ulster ya nob dont come down here ya cunt ya,

  • Bono is the biggest wanker on the face of this planet. The collaboration song was syruppy faeces.

  • @AtticusStount - I suppose if Bono checked out in his own piss and vomit at the age of 27, needle in the arm and a jack daniels by is side, he'd be a legend. I don't subscribe to the Bono hating team. You either believe he's genuine or you don't. Biggest wanker on the face of the planet? I need a fuckin' drink pal. Guess that makes me a legend. Once again , FUCK THAT.

  • I can't belive they had Gerry Ryan do the interview bet he didn't even appreciate the fat he was interviewing Ronnie Drew

  • Scouse kisses to Ronnie and the Dubs - people with hearts

  • Such a terrible naff song. RIP Ronnie, you'll be missed. Balled of Ronnie Drew is awful though

  • no disrespect to ronnie but his version of the auld triangle is not a patch on luke kelly.

RIP Ronnie drew , luke kelly, ciaran bourke and the clancy brothers and tommy makem

  • bono is so not IRISH

    i am an ulsterman,he is a a dick,i love all things irish,but U2 ARE ARROGANT AND LOST

  • @karmapeach you can't disown him foe being arrogant and lost .... thats like the English claiming George Best beause he was an Ulsterman.....there both Irish.

  • ronnie... you made for ever... thanks for knowing your music

  • John Sheahan's poem was a much more appropriate tribute to the great man than that awful song! but Ronnie singing the auld triangle at the end made me cry! Rest In Peace

  • my guess is that Ronnie would dislike this event.

  • Thanks for posting this Video... its so good that we can listen to Ronni with the auld triangle and Johns and Barneys lament

    THANK YOU xox

  • That song was an insult to the likes of ronnie, its a piece of garbage..and that bono is a prick.

  • I wanna say that Ronnie was probably made up with the whole thing but to be honest I just think you're so right.

  • i love ronnie drew

but this is so naive and contrived

R.I.P. ronnie... the only real tribute to you was your legacy...

  • Did he die on the 10th of August? I thought he died on the 16th of August. Anyways, I loved him. He was and will forever be the king of Ireland.

    R.I.P. Ronnie Drew

  • He died the 16th, your right. How could even Gerry Ryan make such a fuk up??

  • How incorrectly can you interpret a message, head shake!

  • Ronnie was a legend and he and his music will always be rememberd

  • wow i would have never recognized him. may he rest in peace! bono said that god needed a voice that is even louder than his, now he`s got it

  • Ronnie is amazing, the ballad of ronnie drew is one of the only vids i've posted but aside from that, is Bono doing Andrea Corr or what?

  • Ronnie is a legend !

  • What happened to Ronnies deep dark sharp voice at the end, is he tired or something?

  • either that or he had Cancer...

  • he was amazing... but i will never forgive U2 for being douche bags

  • This is probably one of the few times that Bono seems sympathetic.

  • I don't know about you guys, I found it very moving... G-d rest his great soul

  • Is that Paul Brady in there at 0:42?

  • You see how sad Shane McGowan are in 04.35

  • It's good to see moments of Ronnie looking over at the congregation of people - some of whom he played with, some he didn't , but all who loved him - and looking happy. It looks like he enjoed it. He was a great man, and the best coda to enjoy him on is to picture him, as on this video, appreciating a tribute from his peers.

  • Ronnie Drew was amazing! but i dont like the song, mainly because of u2 and bonno, singing in his stupid american accent.

  • fuck you ye handicap shut your fuckin mouth

  • God Bless Ronnie Drew

  • Pity Gerry got the date of his death wrong.... Was at home watching it and we all copped it...!!!

  • If you like this song or not, is a matter of own taste. But it is great that so many great Irish artist song this ode to Ronnie Drew.

  • i still think it sucks that the new lead singer in the dubliners didn't get a single verse in, he just had to stand there and play.

I would gladly kill U2 if it brought Luke Kelly and Ronnie Drew back.
