Hi everyone! i'm italian..my english is quite good, but I can't really understand Shane's words! he looks very upset and I'd like to know what he said!
No one's probably gonna read this, but I’ll say it anyway cuz I feel at least 1 person will. I'm a young designer and graffiti artist, I know there's a million out there but I feel like my art has a unique individual style.
If you just take a min and give me a chance I'll make you a believer. I would love nothing more than to have a loyal following on youtube. If anyone who reads this could press the "THUMBS UP" others will see it. Just a simple button push will make a huge difference.
The fierce love and ownership the Irish people feel for Ronnie Drew is touching. I sing the auld triangle to my kids as a lullaby in my best (worst) RD voice.
this is the first time i have seen ronnie ill and i shed a tear ime 18 and am sad to say thit in my lifetime we have lost the best singer ever to have lived the only other person that is in the same world is luke kelly god rest and god bless them, one day i will meet and buy them a drink
At 4:30 Shane says something like: "Something like, eh, ya know, "best of luck Ronnie, see ya later" ya know, like, ya know, and, ya know, i can't, "slan go foill" or something."
"Slan go foill" is the Irish for "bye for now".
By the way, I saw on a programme about Gerry Ryan after his own death that just after Ronnie finished singing "The Auld Triangle" here, he said something like "That'll be the last time I ever sing that"....how fuckin poignant.
What's the big deal. Biggotry comments? It's just a short documentary for watching if you want to or otherwise wheesht yer duddie unless you have something constructive to say. Good on you Slipstool.
listen ye cunts whats with the bad comments, ronnie sang with heart and jerry was the man for the interview and stay in ulster ya nob dont come down here ya cunt ya,
@AtticusStount - I suppose if Bono checked out in his own piss and vomit at the age of 27, needle in the arm and a jack daniels by is side, he'd be a legend. I don't subscribe to the Bono hating team. You either believe he's genuine or you don't. Biggest wanker on the face of the planet? I need a fuckin' drink pal. Guess that makes me a legend. Once again , FUCK THAT.
@karmapeach you can't disown him foe being arrogant and lost .... thats like the English claiming George Best beause he was an Ulsterman.....there both Irish.
John Sheahan's poem was a much more appropriate tribute to the great man than that awful song! but Ronnie singing the auld triangle at the end made me cry! Rest In Peace
It's good to see moments of Ronnie looking over at the congregation of people - some of whom he played with, some he didn't , but all who loved him - and looking happy. It looks like he enjoed it. He was a great man, and the best coda to enjoy him on is to picture him, as on this video, appreciating a tribute from his peers.

If you like this song or not, is a matter of own taste. But it is great that so many great Irish artist song this ode to Ronnie Drew.
iersemuziek 3 years ago 23
i still think it sucks that the new lead singer in the dubliners didn't get a single verse in, he just had to stand there and play.
I would gladly kill U2 if it brought Luke Kelly and Ronnie Drew back.
