  • Does this work on W7 starter?

  • hey dude i have windows 7 64bit and i try to install ubuntu from the start everything goes fine but later afther the installation com restarts then dont wants to turn on its says link is beeing connected - no IPV6 and thats it stops there ......

  • once i installed the ubuntu, can i remove all the windows files and completly delete it from the computure, without harming it and just keep use ubuntu?

    happy for answer!

  • @MrIfeellucky Yes you can but remember when you do that it is permeant and I do not know of a way to revert back to windows. What you would need to do tho is to choose full install and then once installed update ubuntu to the newest version.

  • is it a problem if it says that theres no disk in drive G?

Im using the same download your using, just 11.10

  • nice video mate!!! mathewholland? are u dutch?

  • @achraf96 Thank you. And no i am not. I am from america

  • it says winzip free trial is over after i open it wtF? i dnt want to buy winzip plz help me maybe there's some free program out there? plz explain thanks

  • @TheBullsak You need winrar. If you have winrar and it is telling you that then don't worry about it i get the same message but it does not matter

  • Thanks man... Super Helpful.

  • System specs?

  • @KhaosArtTutorials It says "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive /Device/Harddisk1/DR1" and im trying to download it for windows. Help?

  • @unidleble If the windows download isnt working then download and burn it to a disk then install through that

  • @KhaosArtTutorials But for some reason my computer doesnt burn any Cd's.

  • @unidleble You can always put it on a flash drive

  • Hey dude; your tutorial was helpful.

  • Hi, I like linux ubuntu and I want to do this but is their a way after i do this to change it back to windows, juts so my dad doesn't kill me, thanks :)

  • @ShadowMaster250 i think when u reboot or turn on the pc there is a kind of menu that lets u choose if u wanna start ubuntu or windows.

  • you are fans of apple :D

  • The cops are coming to get you! (cops background sounds?)

  • Haha that's funny :P I'm matthew and from Holland

  • dude u rote a diffrent password in both of the boxes

  • Noob Question....does this work on shitty windows vista?

  • LOL NO HOMO!! Ok, here is the thing, i did everything you showed in the video, but resolution is very big of my PC, and when i press the display tab in the settings menu it highlighted the name of my LCD monitor in red and don't let me do anything...

    Thnaks!!

  • @koolumar101 So your having issues with your computer resolution correct? If so what version are you running

  • dude i did do donation :), but got a problem here, my resolution is really messed up... idk what to do...

  • @koolumar101 I love you :P Your resolution on what is messed up?

  • So... after it's finished it'll give me the option to start up either ubuntu or windows 7 while booting up?

  • @yousellouts yes

  • @KhaosArtTutorials Should we not use the CD and USB

  • @TheWizkhalifa8 You could use any of those options. I have used both but the way shows in the easiest one if you have windows

  • its keeps asking for a valid username?

i just type my win7 name

  • @maximevhw What op are you on and what screen

  • @KhaosArtTutorials win7 home and the screen to choose drive, name, password al that stuff

  • @maximevhw Your windows seven should be unaffected but ubuntu us what ever you set it up to be

  • But also !!! some doucher made a wrong uninstall video (NOT YOU KHAOS) some douch bag but he told me to do something then it fucked up windows then i had to reinstall it :( Nice vid though

  • @itztimmy9900 I see. I had a similar problem but i was installing mac software as a dual boot and then went through a recovery process so if you had some important info on your computer you can try that. It cost me about 100 dollars but it may cost more the more info that you get off and who you use.

  • @KhaosArtTutorials some asshole told me to go into Start>computer then right click>manage>DELETE PARTION but some doucher told me wrong shit

    I was so mad

  • @itztimmy9900 Ok i see ya basically you deleted your windows 7 completely. If you were doing the same thing that i showed in this video then thats completely wrong unless you wanted to create a larger partition then 30G for ubuntu. But this way is safe and easy if you are up for it.

  • If we do the "run it with windows" download, do i have to do anything to be able to double boot?

  • @asianbboy03 When you run the .exe file you will get a window that will ask you some questions like how much memory would you like to give to ubuntu etc.

  • I want it vice versa, not Ubuntu on Windows 7, but Windows 7 on Ubuntu. Can't find any tutorial :(

  • @1kalekip1 I am not an expert on ubuntu so i can't give you a for sure answer but most likely what you should have to do is partition your hard drive and install windows 7 to that partition.

  • @KhaosArtTutorials Thanks, but I have no idea how. If you make a video it would help me a lot :)

  • @1kalekip1 ill see what i can do for you

  • can i keep windows wen i install this?

  • @itztimmy9900 Yes as long as you don't fully install it. What you should do is go to download it for windows and use that format. it is very simple and easy to use so you are able to keep both windows and ubuntu

  • @KhaosArtTutorials Thanks but i had to uninstall it because it was takeing up to much room and

    my computer was lagging alot!

  • @itztimmy9900 ya that is one downfall unless you have a large hard drive it can take up a majority of it easily

  • so, let me get this straight:

when you start up your computer, you get a screen where you can choose Windows or Ubuntu?

(kinda like bootcamp on a Mac?)

Windows keeps on working properly with you?

  • @BenjaminWoltman Yes, When you start your computer you will come to a black screen with windows7 first and below ubuntu and just use your arrow key to move down and hit enter

  • @BenjaminWoltman Ya just like bootcamp. The only difference is it will auto choose windows after 7 sec if you do not choose ubuntu and you have the option to share a hard drive or not witch would be the only thing that might mess up some files due to confusion but other then that it works perfectly and you can delete ubuntu and install as many times as you would like

  • but the wifi working anyway???

  • @mikydaliakay The only two options that i know are to update or reinstall ubuntu

  • Ok i get an error...it says 'WindowsBackend' object has no attribute iso_path.....I could use a hand here

  • when i attemp to boot, my computer goes to the purple ubuntu screen, but has the option of loading ubuntu or windows, along with memory checks. Is the purple screen normal?

  • @scottieh83 If this purple screen is coming up when you choose ubuntu then yes. Ubuntu isnt a perfect os so you will see some strange loading screens while your boot but yes it sounds normal

  • @KhaosArtTutorials um dude my install gets stuck (im installing it to my external harddrive) what should i do?

  • PLZ READ IMPORTANT QUESTION!

are we aloud to go back to windows again if we want to?????

  • @Cory10131 What do you mean? If you are fully ubuntu then no you have to reinstall it but if it is half and half then sure just delete ubuntu

  • lol.... who doesnt have minecraft

  • An error occurred

    Error executing command

    >>command=C:\Windows\System32\bcdedit.exe /set

    {5dd42d4a-ffd9-11e0-a532-7071bc29bf8} device partition=U:

    >>retval

    >>stderr=An error has occurred setting the element data.

    The request is not supported.

    Please Please help me :( :( :(

  • @kfanis2008 I dont have enough experience to help you with your issue but i am making a video on how to partition your hard drive and that might help you out.

  • @kfanis2008 ownload Revo Uninstaller Free edition or any other uninstalling software. Try to uninstall it from that and after running the programs uninstaller(even if it fails) it will scan the registry and hard drive for leftover files which you can delete. After deleting all files associated with Ubuntu you should be able to install via Wubi. I suggest Linux mint it should have mint4win which installs like wubi.

  • wow man, tahnks I did not expect it to be this easy I could have done it myself. Never-the-less you helped out alot man, I subbed!

  • @KhaosArtTutorials did the problem u had wit the bars get patched or sumthin in 11.10?

  • @kaydub403 Im not sure i dont have ubuntu installed on any of my computers right now. What i had to do is use the terminal to fix it

  • thanks!

  • I did exactly what you did, except when I rebooted it it brings me to a black command screen that says grub or gnu grub or some shit like that. there's no way to get out of it and I have to restart my computer to get back into windows 7 using ctrl+alt+del, no ubuntu installed apparently...the install is supposed to continue right after the boot right? well mine apparently didn't. Or do you install it separately or what?

  • @Cpillin425 ok well uninstall ubuntu completely and go to ubuntu's website and go to download>run with windows>start download and that should work once you download it run and install then make sure its english

  • @KhaosArtTutorials It would not let me boot back into windows, every time I tried it would go into a blue screen, so I did start up repair and it finally booted into windows and uninstalled wubi. Thank You for the help though, I was going to try out linux for the first time, now that I know the damage it does though, intend to stay on the safe side because I don't want to ruin my $1200 gaming computer or my files that are on it. Perhaps it just doesn't work with my computer.

  • @Cpillin425 I understand your concern. try a different computer if you have one and it should work but im sure with some computers it dosent work.

  • @KhaosArtTutorials I'll try the Ubuntu ISO on my old IDE hdd after I get the SATA adapter for it, maybe it just needs it's own partition.

  • @Cpillin425 that is another option that you can do is download ubuntu and partition your hard drive and it can work that way

  • how long does it take to download it , cuz mine are so slow .

  • @TheCardTrickerz It depends on how fast you internet is but if you download it to a usb drive or cd it will take forever but if you just download it for windows it takes several seconds

  • @KhaosArtTutorials please help , I had finished installing the wubi .exe than it said error code 2

    please help !!

  • @TheCardTrickerz uninstall then go to ubuntu's websute and download the newest version just for windows and try again. I have had this issue before you just need to reinstall

  • @KhaosArtTutorials it's not working , man i'm so sad . :(( please help .

  • @TheCardTrickerz Have you tried partitioning your hard drive to manually install it?

  • @KhaosArtTutorials what do you mean by partitioning my hard drive ? and how ?

  • @TheCardTrickerz It's a process to make a area of your hard drive for a certain thing like blocking it off for one purpose. Should I just make a tut for you?

  • @KhaosArtTutorials please do a tut ! I really want ubuntu .

  • @TheCardTrickerz ok i will. It will be over the weekend tho b/c i wiped my computer on accident so i dont konw when i will get my info back but once i do i will make one for you

  • @KhaosArtTutorials thanks dude .

  • help it says erase current operating system wat do i do to keep windows

  • @MegaMissseptember You need to partition your hard drive then obtain Ubuntu on a CD or flashdrive and install it to the partitioned area of your hard drive

  • @KhaosArtTutorials thank you

  • @iiLukesterMc what are you asking?

  • i have downloaded the '' download and install '' file and i got an iso image. if i burn this image and then run the disk when i install ubuntu i will can choose windows 7 or ubuntuwhen i open my computer?

  • @13apollonas What you have to do is install it (personally i did it right off of the website) then when you restart your computer you will have a black screen that says Windows 7 then Ubuntu below it and all you have to do is sue the arrows down then press enter choose ubuntu. If you dont choose Ubuntu your computer will start windows 7

  • @KhaosArtTutorials like we say its dual boot. if i select ubuntu i wil run ubuntu. if i select windows 7 it will run windows 7. when i install it i still have my files in windows 7? in ubuntu i will have my windows 7 files?

  • man, i am so lucky to find you. you have the same exact laptop as me (lenovo z560) and probably the same internals(intel hd, intel 2 gen i3, win 7, and 4 gig ram) thanks alot!!!

  • has that problem been fixed with choosing the windows? thinking of putting it on my xps laptop when i get it

  • @davidcoady91 what problem are you referring to?

  • Hi, is there a way to reverse a dual boot installation without wiping the Windows installation out and the files on Windows?

  • @Maranellolt7 yes if you are using windows as your default op you can just use the uninstall icon that came with ubuntu. If you did a manual partition you will need to access your hard drive through your computer witch you should be familiar with if you did it manually and wipe ubuntu partition clean and make it your windows hard drive again.

  • A problem I have had with Ubuntu is I Have a HP Pavilion with a Ralink Networking card. I am unable to get my WiFi to work on this because they do not have a driver for my card. That is why I do not have ubuntu on my computer fully. If It adds support to my ocmputer, I will kick windows out the "Window" forever. Do you know anything on how to get my wireless card working now?

  • @RSPShoster I have no knolage on how to fix your issue with your wireless card. What you can do tho is use one of your friends computers to download ubuntu to a flashdrive or cd and manually install it that way.

  • @KhaosArtTutorials I am Able to install ubuntu and boot into it on my computer. I am not able to connect to a wireless internet connection due to Ubuntu not defaulty supporting my wireless card. They only support Broadcom. I have looked all over the web for a solution, and I am just unable to find one. Once Ubuntu supports my card tho, I will full boot

  • @RSPShoster Ok i understand what you are saying now but i am still unable to help you with your problem. Hopefully someone in the comments will see this and will be able to help you more then me. This issue is just something i have never had an issue with before so i cannot assist you.

  • @RSPShoster type in rfkill unblock all in the terminal

  • @jordanc1212 Just out of Curisioty, What will that command do?

  • @RSPShoster i really dont know, but whatever it does, it works for me, and lets me connect via WiFi and lets the built in wireless work :)

  • hi i have a problem on 6:01 this screen after it it brigs up all theses codes i was sitting for house waiting and it did nothing can u help

  • @Brownmanclark what i was trying to explain is when you turn off your computer and turn it back on you have the option for witch operating system you would like to run and once you choose ubuntu sometimes you may get a black screen with lots of coding on it and what normally happens is it still loads and starts the load page but if this dosent happen you might need to reinstall it.

  • Did it partion your hardrive for you?

  • @gamez101 yes it gives you the option for how many gigs you want to give it unless you set up the partition yourself and manually install it. In that case you can give it as much as you want, normally it will only allow you 30 gigs for ubuntu

  • Thanks so much, I might get a pc just to put ubuntu on it

  • this was very helpfull thank u very much for posting this video on youtube

  • Hey, i have successfully installed Ubuntu, but when i use that, it seems to not have any internet connections. Need help!

  • i'm scery,to installing....bRrRrRrRr!!

  • @TheRyanul78 what?

  • @KhaosArtTutorials its so scery ,becuase that need, very much ram!

  • why is it so hard to get flash in ubuntu?? i downloaded it but i can't find where it was installed at. i went to the download folder but it doesn't do anything.

  • @eagentlia when you go to the app center and download flash it should install its self already you shouldnt have to install it yourself but if it just saves you can go to where you saved it and install it yourself

  • @KhaosArtTutorials When I uninstall Ubuntu the black screen at starting will be away where stands:

    Windows

    Ubuntu ?

  • @eagentlia if you wanna do it easy, type this in a terminal: "sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree -y" (without the quotes " " ofcourse). then type your password and you're set. after it ends restart your browser.

NOTE: THIS WORKS FOR ME, IT MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR MACHINE.

  • i did i install it but i dont got internet i cant even scan for it it says firmware missing or something :S

  • @thomboy7 Did you do it on a cd or the website?

  • @thomboy7 when does it give you this error message?

  • @KhaosArtTutorials isnt a error message but just at the bar at the top u know? i dont know how to explain it better -.-

  • @thomboy7 Like when it says "new hardware installed"? If so try installing it again and then restart your computer to see if it gives you the option for ubuntu

  • when i try and install on my computer i get a error box saying that all of the files could not be reach how would i get around this?

  • @Slaier44 you can install it to a disk then do it that way. It will take longer but you will have ubuntu on a disk for all your friends too.

  • @KhaosArtTutorials ok i got it on a disk i put into the computer and it does not run on its own...what should i do to make it run

  • @Slaier44 did you go to the ubuntu website to burn it to a disk

  • MINECRAFT FTW!

  • So i installed and everything went fine but i cant watch any youtube videos or anything that involves flash i installed the flash package and everything but still nothing any ideas??

  • @JJWebber8961 It depends on how you installed flash player. If you go through the ubuntu app store or "software center" you can search it and flash will come up along with adobe reader 9. Both are good to install but if you used the terminal sometimes it wont install to firefox and it wont work right. But i will be making a tut on how to do that as soon as i can get a screen recorder for ubuntu that is good.

  • @JJWebber8961 All you need is - to install "ubuntu-restricted-extras" package, there you can find flashplugin-nonfree and other multimedia stuff

  • @KhaosArtTutorials cheers man i looked up another tutorial it looks simple enough

  • You can custom everything on Ubuntu. windows is good also but you are limited to what you can change it to look like. Ubuntu is more difficult to use at first till you get all your basics figured out but once you have that it is very fun to play on with the linux program center or app store. I will be making future videos about ubuntu so you can look into those and see more about it.

  • What are some of the main advantages of ubuntu over windows?

  • @250hdd Well probably the best one is that ubuntu cant get any viruses. But the minus is that you cant play that much games on linux.

  • Tht is so unbelievably simple cheers dude......now i need to work out how to get word 2007 to run on it hmmmm help?

  • @JJWebber8961 Yes you can install "Wine" and use the windows installer feature named "wine magic wand tricks" (or something like that) but you will need the word .exe file to attempt to use wine to install it on ubuntu. If it does not work let me know and i will look into it more for you.
