  • Praise be to Jeebus!

  • It's a pity such a question came from a deluded religious idiot. Good point but the chap believes in magic. He got lucky maybe

  • @Clearflight89 cmon man, shut the fuck up..

  • @Clearflight89 he got lucky? that is the worst youtube comment i have ever seen. no exageration.

  • @Clearflight89 snob

  • His point is valid but poorly delivered - politicians are "empowered" by people to serve as their representative voice in managing UK PLC. They are not "in power" despite what most of them think. If they were truly in power we (the people) would be unable to remove them!

  • What a pathetically trivial point to make, a weak argument from insignificant semantics. The government has the power of the executive and the power to introduce bills. They are in power. His comment is lightweight, and does little to undermine perceptions of the Church as being similarly lightweight and peripheral to our national discourse.

  • @mridenine

people who are anti-religion like to point out how religion causes conflict and prejudice in the world, and are all too happy to declare what "free-thinkers" they are. And yet this man is being critizised and judged because of his religion, when he makes a comment nothing to do with religion at all. Comments like this (theres a lot for this video) do not portray the apparent "free-thought" you claim to hold.

  • @mridenine

It's not a weak or a trivial point.

Freud talked a load of nonsense about some things, but he was right about slips of the tongue being revealing. Unless someone's confused about what some long word means, word choice is NEVER an accident. It reveals routine and habitual patterns of thought. And vice versa - routine use of a word (like calling women bitch and ho') wears a metaphorical groove in the brain, grows habits of thought.

It's why we have "civil SERVANTS".

  • @mridenine That guy is a complete hypocrite. Has he ever stopped to think that the 'all powerful' god he's devoted his life to worshiping might be in it for the wrong reasons?

  • More and more applicable this question as time goes by.

  • @Isil1972 You seem to be quite irate at my comment which if you re-read, makes perfect sense.... Perhaps you're angry about something else & have decided to come on here & make childish vulgar comments. Perhaps it's time to grow up.

Surprisingly enough... I am neither an "aristocrat" (less than 0.01 % of the UK population) or a "peasant" (a term last used in the late 18th century). I simply made a comment which most people on here seem to agree with.

  • After this he went home and buggered a couple of young boys.

  • @tech4156 that made me lol out loud

  • @tech4156 LOL

  • @tech4156 doest it remind you of being a kid?

  • @CooperTroopa why? are you getting an erection.

  • @tech4156 Why would you ever ask another man that question... you must be used to this sort of thing....

  • @CooperTroopa Oh.. and what sort of thing would that be reverend?

  • SHIT POINT. jeeez the term 'power' is JUST a phrase to mean 'in office'. always has. nitpicking at a

completely irrelevant point and taking the literal sense of the word. pedantic fool.

  • @keepitauthenticppl surely you can see the difference? in office is suppose to mean to serve the people, "power" is the incorrect term to use in this situation. He explained it clearly.

  • nice devil horns hand sign mr priest lol why do that ?

  • it's a terrible point. that's just a term like any other - so called as they have the POWER to pass legislation

  • @sedwarg over u if u let them

  • I have no great admiration for politicians but this guy is clearly a pedantic idiot trying to get a pat on the back for "standing up" to the powers that be.

Stop quibbling over individual words & taking them out of context... Attention seeker. Also some politicians are in "power" it's a fact, yes they should serve the people but they're still in "power"... Accept it

  • @SirOneCan Exactly. Politicians are elected to serve, based on their policies and promises, and when elected, they are awarded the power to make those policies and promises a reality. Essentially 'serving' their constituents by wielding the 'power' to make changes. lol

  • Comment removed

  • What sign is his hand 'really' signaling? Check out the illuminati folks.

  • your point is right, but your belief is delusional man

  • THATS RACIST!

  • FATHER RAY POWERRRR!

  • I agree whole heartedly with this man (one of the few times I've agreed with a priest, but his collar is irrelevent), the only problem is the masses themselves like to have a power figure aswell, hence why there have been such cases where Hitler has been preferred over the Weimer Republic, Ronald Reagan preferred over Jimmy Carter, the Athenian empire over the radical Athenian democracy, the Roman Empire over the Roman Republic. Alot People still like power figures.

  • Comment removed

  • His point is correct. It's not just a semantic point, it's very relevant - and very true.

  • he's completely, totally and 100% right. That's why we call them public SERVANTS after all.

  • What a load of waffle :')

  • He's making the symbol of the devil with his left hand

  • @ShunsFilms and his right, and if you reverse the sound....it SPEAKS

  • jesus,s birthday soon .party in heaven

  • If we're all god's children, what's so special about Jesus?

  • @EleanorStokesTV Unfortunately, we are not neccessarily all God's children. Only if we choose to be will we be re-adopted, as since the first sin, we have voluntarily turned our back on God. By accepting Jesus as the only way back into a proper relationship with God, we then become 'God's Children'. Our pride is what forces us to rebel and choose other paths/religions, and they will all amount to nothing in the end, as only Jesus offers us the forgiveness we all need to find eternal peace.

  • @GEOFF0906 Oh do shut up. This is YouTube not the frickin' iron age.

  • good point, but...

    ...jesus was a magician

    u mad brah?

  • Yo...Did my guy the priest just throw a masonic hand sign?

  • @Lahmekful no he did not, he throw the "el diablo" ( i love satan )

  • Rock on LOL

  • semantics

  • This is how useful this guy is, he has a chance to ask a question on tv, being a Priest he can make a diffrence so ask an important question, and what does he ask? a stupid pointless question that gains nothing but clapping by audience members that clap like seals. Why not ask about debts people are in? why not ask about poverty and homlesness. No he asks about such a stupid thing. A complete waste of space.

  • Guys like this dont even have ethics, If I worked for a company or a society that was guilty of so many abuses of power, theft of property I would seriuosly concider another career. and he sits there like a plonker spouting retroric. How can he do it working for such an orginisation like that. Nothing but a joke. There are many other ways to spread the word of god and to give back to the community, but to sit there with a collar on as a spokesman for such a corrupt employer is a joke.

  • I would take Ignorance over Hypocrasy anyday.

  • A very smug person indeed. one of the reasons more and more people are turning away from the church. If this is the modern face of Religion then Im out. The church has been proven to be rotten to the core. Not just a few bad apples but dozens of Orchards. I dont want a prattt in a collarr telling me politicians are power hungry, go back to your parish in sussex.

  • @AlannTH So because he is a man of god, it means you need to bring religion into it, ignorance at its best.

  • The dude is doing the Devil horns all the way through speaking, he is probably one of the panel members Illuminati Handler giving him his secret 'kill' command..

  • @missjacko1 I completely agree, however I think it makes sense to assume that hes just a sort of "go-along" guy, just part of the Church with no real idea of this fact. That would surely make him, for the most part, oblivious to the hypocrisy of his comment and his organisation

  • This is one of those "Go Sister" points they have on question time which everyone applauds but is actually just arguing about semantics.

  • a white collar, camo pants, in a wheel chair it does not matter what they look like just there points it's the people in the suits you should be specially careful of with there points as there in it for themselves usauly.

  • What a hypocrite talking about power, no one holds or held more power then the church, he works for an orginisation that is corrupt and the person that said forget hes a priest, the point hes making is so hypocritical its hard not to highlight it.

  • @missjacko1 "no one holds or held more power then the church" - are you from 1000 years in the past?

  • @vkman34 Estimates put the Church at having more then 300 billion Dollars in assets around the world. All fronted by companies, off shore accounts etc, they where able to pay off a lot of sex abuse cases very easily. Still a very rich and corrupt power hungry orginisation.

  • @missjacko1 Yes, because every preist is a power hungry fiend and every atheist is a peaceful soul. Wait, whats that? Napoleon Bonaparte? Joseph Stalin? I'm not going to say priests/religous people are evil or atheists are evil because really there have been good and bad on both sides. However, once you start to make hateful, hasty judgement on the otherside you can only expect unneeded conflict. Neither christians nor atheists should do that. It's a complete cheap shot.

  • @TheMadJammer well every politician is power hungry? I dont like people like him that make silly comments about a word a politician makes and yet has the front to sit there with a collar on. Hypocrasy at its worst. The church is a vast power hungry orginisation. And he has the front to say Poloticians use power in conversation. He is a huge hypocrit.

  • @missjacko1 Heres the difference between you and him; he said he has a problem with politicians who use the phrase " in power". He never said all politicians are power hungry. You on the the other hand automatically see that because he is a priest, he must be power hungry because he is associated with the church. You don't even know why he became a preist. What if he believes he's helping people as a priest, and what if he actually uses his [probably small] influence for the better of society?

  • @TheMadJammer I never said all politicians where power hungry you mentioned that. He is associated with the church? he works for them, hence the collar, if he was associated with them hed do bake sales and raise cash for them. When you wear a uniform that means you work for said employer. I agree with Alan was a stupid question, one only asked to gain favour from the audience. If this is his level of questioning of Government then no wonder the church is so out of touch.

  • From the fairy tale world of religion, he claims politicians should serve i.e. bow to the changing whims, wishes and prejudices of a largely brainwashed public who are largely unaware of complex economic realities, Most voters assume they are " empowering "someone who belongs either to a party which maintains support for greed , self-interest , profit before people and a "f*** you Jack, I'm all right" philosophy or one which genuinely promotes and supports fairness and the common good.

  • 0:16 rock on

  • Government is there to enforce power. Its never been there as a body to serve. It certainly hasn't served me anything in my 20 years on this Island.

  • Absolute power corrupts absolutely!

  • They're just words.

  • Good point, fair play to him.

  • Hardly a good point. More boring/ pedantic.

  • Everyone's going on about the fact that he's a priest. Stop looking at his collar, and listen to his point.

  • @willscomix another excellent point, people will a;ways get distracted from what matters and thats how the world elite like it

  • @willscomix "Stop looking at his collar, and listen to his point."

His point is valid but the fact that he is a CATHOLIC PRIEST critcising people being IN POWER for the WRONG REASONS is delicious irony. He says it while making the Illuminati hand sign. The hypocritical scumbag! He is a member of the freaking Catholic Church for crying out loud! An organisation that wants UNLIMITED POWER!!!! The Pope is an evil man who covered up child rape and he looks like Emperor Palpatine.

  • @JamesHolman1000

    facepalm.jpg

  • @JamesHolman1000 Illuminati hand sign? Really?

  • @willscomix

    indeed!

actually, the fact that he's a priest kinda underlines his point: as a priest, he knows why he's been appointed to his parish - to serve. i'm an atheist, but it's good to see a priest doing the right thing to politicians: telling what they REALLY should have in mind when they go into political careers.

says a lot about politicians, no?

but yeh - pity ppl here focus on the collar and using that as a way to avoid having to think about what he's saying.

  • the trinity ... three independant states ... rome .. city of london and washington ... rome is law... city of london is business and washington is defence ..... wakey wakey

  • the handsigns and handshakes mean NOTHING! listen to the words he speaks "i think your in office to serve people" thats more than what these politicians think of you. im making that sign right now, does that mean im part of it? things like this only distort the argument for truth and make it seem like a big joke because kids are hopping around all videos shouting illuminati. Wake up! your being used against yourself and other people trying to work out the truth.

  • Comment removed

  • Amen

  • 0:15 illuminati sign O.o

Why the fuck do he talk about power then!

  • Power....UNLIMITED....POWERRR!!!!!!!!

....sorry, don't know where that came from.

  • @sirAthrus Please stop watching Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Watching too much of it can cause outbursts.

  • @AnimalWelfare1000 Oh dear lord I need help!!!!

  • @sirAthrus good. you should be. that was dumb

  • @C00K1E777 I should be what?

Not making much sense there Obi-wan......Ahhh crap there I go again.

  • Hello All! This clip has only recently been brought to my notice. I had NO idea I was on You Tub! I'm gobsmacked, at all this; number of hits; comments; etc!

Although because I am a Catholic priest some of you may find this hard to believe, I'm TOTALLY commited to Service, not Power. The Gospel of Service comes way higher in my priorities than anything else! I'l live/die a servant, of the oppressed, deprived of civil/other freedoms, suffer discrimination! I merely try to follow my hero, JC!

  • @RadicalFrRay Go Ray!

  • @RadicalFrRay Jesus was pretty clear on power and the use of force. It is a tool and if you can't use a tool for good, don't even try to weild it.... Or is that from Star Wars?

  • @RadicalFrRay

"Although because I am a Catholic priest some of you may find this hard to believe, I'm TOTALLY commited to Service, not Power."

You're quite right. It is difficult to believe.

"I merely try to follow my hero, JC!"

Not a good role model if you ask me, thankfully he's just a myth like his "dad".

  • @Pigdowndog well done sir! you have succesfully knocked that priest down a few pegs with your implied athieism! He'll think twice next time he expresses his non-antagonistic religious views, the bastard.

  • @BerserkerJay

"well done sir! you have succesfully knocked that priest down a few pegs with your implied athieism!"

I apologise for it being just an implication when it is indeed a firmly held position.

"He'll think twice next time he expresses his non-antagonistic religious views, the bastard."

Hopefully he'll "think twice" before posting messages in a public space telling me that I am a "sinner" and will burn in hell if I don't cringe before my "maker"

    It cuts both ways.

  • @Pigdowndog I'm sorry, I believe I missed the part of the preists post that addressed your spirtual damnation. Also remember that when you thump your beliefs on others, it makes you as annoying as those christians who preach to you on the street.

  • @RadicalFrRay If what you say is true (and i have no reason to suspect it isn't) then you are clearly a man who understands society, and well done for making such a valid point :)

  • dont priest do the same say they have power to forgive sins, by giving some money or saying bloody mary 100times. parents used to say to there kids go sleep or else boogeyman get you, now they say go sleep or the buggering PRIEST will get you.

  • see todays modern xtian panders to all whims. have no fear join us and well change the bible for u.alcohol, pig, gays female priests bible its a no no but church its yes yes yes so send ALL your money now to rev jim jones on 0800we change for u.......

  • the pagan god dionysus story that preceeded bible has same details like jesus born from virgin, god was his father[zeus] lived on earth killed resurrected hmmm or the stories of gilgamesh.....

  • @sajakram1 let's not forget mithras!

  • have to type quickly cos not enough typing space here thats why not structured so there

  • u try typing with 1 hand damm cheek. 1corinthians 15;17 and if christ not risen our religion is worthless so the christian has to believe by hook or by crook that christ crucified yet, 2 places were ascension mentioned, and 1john 5;7 about trinity [for there are 3 that bear record in heaven ect THROWNOUT of bible without any ceremony cos they found these to be just marginal notes not the word of god same with BEGOTTEN SON yet xtian is sticking to his guns believn a fabrication. how RETARDED

  • whyd u think thers so many diff bibles cos they need diff ones depending on where in world u are ways to convert people diff ways needed in world . they allow pig, alcohol ,gays ect do whatever to get the customers. u see as long as they believe christ crucified they can change all else thats what this pagan cult is worth made on lies . no wonder people are always leaving they wana save there souls not listen to child raping led cult

  • correction only 1per cent priests in world caught that still comes too 10of thousands priests. for centuries they have raped calling it payment for there services you sin pay these perverts money or say bloody mary 50 times and ur forgiven deluded catholics are really gonna burn beyond comprehension. human worshipping retards priests can rape and forgive own or each other in there secret choir boy reward groups since 1st pope . secvret society set up to pay priests

  • fine ALL TRINITARIANS say all have sinned and go hell unless u believe christ crucified, right so hitler caused 40mil deaths but he belived christ crucified so that means he wont be held to account for those deaths . like they say greater the sin greater the redemption.u dnt do idols cos of 10commandments why ignore the 1st one then. jesus asked about god he repeated 1300year earlier given to moses word for word ,god is 1 he dint mention trinity that was right time to mention it

  • you believe holy ghost is god and that he is with you helping you or whatever way, so if god is WITH you how can you sin its impossible right.this is what these born again cult says they fill census forms ticking christian. jimmhy swaggert said u dont have to pray ,fast ect ect cos its showing ingratitude to what jesus did on calvers cross ect. that is what the devil says too dont pray ect

  • ask all those born again christians this is what they believe and when they get caught raping choir kids they quickly say erm hes not true xtian. how can u not know this.as for spirit it says ull be strenthened by it aswell as speak tongues ect if its strenthening u u cant sin yet it abandones you when asked questions on bible.as for catholics they preceded all else u all believe TRINITY so rest is a label. u have so MANY VERSIONS bible all different so whos wrong in that

  • @sajakram1 I believe you have some very good ides, but your grammar kills it. Structure your sentences a bit more, and people will be inclined to believe that you aren't mentally retarded. Zeus Bless.

  • Look at all this controversy here in the comments section... Personally, I can't seem to reconcile myself that there are children in wheelchairs and people that want to kill themselves because they have mental disorders and good people starving to death in poverty with the idea that we inherited a sin from a woman eating an apple when she wasn't supposed to, which is somehow our fault too, even though most Christians dispute her actual existence in the first place.

    It's. All. Bullshit.

  • ive heard of more priests than any other profession synonimous with rape in all sorts of papers . im going by facts its always some priest. tell me this christians say we have holy ghost with us or in us so it should be impossible to sin if that was true prooves they are all lying or deluded why did the pope come out with new 10 laws for priests when they meet women and children. if they truly believed christ crucified then they think there sins are forgiven already so rape away

  • @sajakram1 I had to check your age when I read this. 36, really? Where does it say that having the Holy Spirit inside you stops you from sinning? The Holy Spirit was sent to the people so that they could feel the love of God, and testify in His name, sometimes performing miracles. Nothing to do with in being a 'sin shield'. Accepting Christ doesn't absolve all future sin, it merely covers up the sins of past. Christians go too hell aswell. The Catholic Church doesn't represent all Christians

  • @sajakram1 Catholics pray to idols like Mary and the Saints, which is a sin. Catholics confess to a Priest which is useless. Catholics say that the Pope is the head of the Church, when actually Christ said He is. They do not represent true Christianity. Back to the Holy Spirit, where did you get the concept that it stops people from sinning? The Holy Spirit is recieved after you accept Christ and your sins are clean, but God knows everyone stumbles. Forgivness is reoccuring, not a one off.

  • @KurtCobain198666 sorry kurt. catholics do not pray to idols. they simply have figures of artwork or whatever around but catholics do not believe idols hold any divinity an do not pray TO idols

  • Comment removed

  • @soloscriptura1 the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 969:

"Taken up to heaven she did not lay aside this saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation.... Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix." Mary wasn't the advocate, Christ was when He died for our sins.

  • @soloscriptura1 That quote also calls her the Mediatrix (feminine of Mediator) but the Bible says: For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all (1 Timothy 2:5,6). So if Mary wasn't a benefactress because she didn't die for us, and she wasn't an advocate either, what was she? She was a virgin, and descendant of David. God used her to fulfill Messhaic prophecy, and that's it. She's not devine at all, just a woman

  • @KurtCobain198666 well....thats fine what you are saying. all i comented on was the fact that catholics dont pray to Idols. thats all. the 'arts' are mearly a celebration or whatever of the divine

  • @sajakram1 Please don't mistake Catholics for Christians. All Catholics are Christians but not all Christians are Catholics. All dogs are mammals, but not all mammals are dogs, get it? Jesus taught that His blood would cover us, and our sins. "Yes, this anguish was good for me, for you have rescued me from death and forgiven all my sins." Isaiah 28:17. Forgiven is past tense, you still have to confess and beg to God when you sin. I think you think we see it as a free pass to sin, and we do not!

  • Amazing point, hes right, the language must change, Politicians take note.

  • why is this choir boy raping pervert christian allowed to come on tv and sit with humans

  • why the fuck is he doing the devil horns? lol...

  • ha! says the priest! 90% of which have had illegal encounters with children!

hypocrits, liers.... pathetic. how can religion be a source of morals when those supporting the religion break the morals they set out for others.

    I'm Mark and I'm a teapot agnostic.

    Fuck off

  • @ramboormark

99% of priests aren't pedophiles. You've either been misinformed or have exaggerated the number in your head. You probably did this because it's apparently a bigger deal if a priest is a pedophile than any other type of person. Being a pedophile is breaking a very recently introduced moral (last 100 years). Also, hypothetically, a groups' decisions shouldn't cloud your assesment over an individual's opinion. I'm agnostic too, but unlike you I'm not a moron.

  • @BlackMarshArgonian christian religious leaders have been raping children in there care for centuries just cos some got caught now doesnt mean anything. tell me where is this ghost thats in them when they are raping prooves when you say we have ghost in us is just bullshit. why they rape cos xtians are told belief in cruci-FICTION is all needed so raping does not matter thats why theydo it. xtians bible does not teach any morals since its full of sex incest too look at ezekiel 23 red2 ur kids

  • @sajakram1

You are ignorant and believe in these lies too easily as they give you something to be passionate about. I don't believe you're going to believe you're wrong. Priests don't rape children anymore than people of every other career rape children.

  • @BlackMarshArgonian well, for me to agree or disagree i would first need you to be literate.

  • @ramboormark

I am literate to the point of understanding. You've taken my mistakes and are using Ad Hominem. Let me read your argument back to you: "I'm not arguing because you mispelled some words."

  • Nearly as good as that guy in the audience who, during Question Time in November 2009, got up and said 'This is a question to Dick.. I beg your pardon, 'Nick' Griffin'...

  • @Debagio Was that really 2009? God. I actually remember the buildup to the programme and watching it's broadcast. Where on Earth did the last two years go?

  • i cant believe how much this world is going down the toilet. LIsten to your comments. How sad? he has a right to voice like anyone else.

  • Listen who's preaching about power... a motherfucker with so much free time in his hands he gets to go on TV...

  • @flarez

    Lol!

  • A good point well said 'reverend' - as he makes the sign of Satan the goat.

  • Totally right on, Brother Priest, very well said! And as for the "satanic illuminate gang sign he be throwin' down," nothing but coincidence. I think that is very observant of you, but you're reading much too much into that; it's a very natural gesture to make...try it and see how easily it "comes to you." Not saying that there aren't satanists and others who don't use it, because there are, but this was totally unintentional. You definitely spoke for me, Priest, and I thank you!

  • irony

  • Too fucking right mate.

  • BOOOOOM! you GO Preist! nicely said matey

  • Whats with his Illuminati hand signs? My head teacher is a Freemason along with allot of my teachers... they are dick heads

  • @GamingLogics how do you know that

  • talking about POWER making illuminati signs

  • @BreadForButter ye hes making the devils horn with his hand well spotted

  • @BreadForButter Yes, along with the millions of people who point their index finger like that. I'm sure it's a secret subliminal symbol though, of course. Just like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber are Illuminati pawns.

  • @BreadForButter what is an illuminati sign?

  • @4VON88BERGGSBORG22 Google it

  • @BreadForButter is that how you found out?

  • @4VON88BERGGSBORG22 dont google it, it is for idiots

  • @BreadForButter Good eye.....

  • Is that a vicar using rational thought?!

  • he made the sign of the devil with his hand. Either he likes heavy metal, or I don't know what.

  • LOL @ priest disagreeing with "power"

  • @steelio82 More LOL @ priest for giving the horns sign.

  • @steelio82 What with all the 'power' they command over small boys.

  • freemasons sign :O

  • Amen father ... no pun intended

  • 0:08 "el diablo' hand sign from a priest dressed in black :-)

  • 323 asskissing scumbags came by here. You make me sick.

  • rock on you rocker minister you. Right on!

  • @mickburke15 behave urself

  • superb point, POWER is just a greedy instinct

  • that is probably the ONLY intelligent point over made by a priest in the history of the universe

  • Listen people, this guy is called father ray and he's a priest at my secondary school, believe me all this bullshit about him being a religious guy and not having any individual views is rubbish. he's one of the most overly political guys i know and trust me, if he didnt fully believe in what he was saying, he wouldnt go through all the trouble to go on question time.

  • @mickburke15 Don't tell her I called you nasty internet names! :(

  • @mickburke15 You're right, priests aren't allowed opinions. I'm guessing you must be a careers adviser otherwise you'd shut the fuck up yourself, right?

  • @mickburke15 oh my god, as if i wasted my time with you...

  • Is he a a priest or a vicar?

  • @mickburke15 Woh wahhhhtt? Those things dont even go together?! That statement doesnt actually mean anything! He means nothing of being a priest for talking politics? Idiot

  • @mickburke15 and your reason would be...? Specifically?

  • Question time is a fucking muppet show now.

Celebrity panelists who know fuck all about what the average Joe in the street is struggling with..........Dimbleby is an ignorant fuck who tries to ridicule anyone who's opinion he does not like.
