one thing to look out for if you are a destro lock is look out for a fire next to the light, if you happen to get both buffs you can pull upwards of 50k dps i have done so myself.. just a bit up a heads up

Hodir is a hard fight for the tank because all of the DPSers are getting buffs that the tank is not. It is important that Hunters be MDing as often as possible and paladins should be using Hand of Salvation on any DPSers who are getting close to the tank in threat.

if mele get the crit buff, the tank usually will get it , thus with the tank having 130% crit buff for 30 sec, threat shouldnt be an issue at all

Knowing your class would be helpful for that question. Most classes have aggro diminishing talents or spells, and i believe raddue gave some good advise on how your raid could help out as well.

Yout Tank should make use of his taunts, Ranged people should be far enough away that he can taunt hodir quick enough that he wont one shot em, tanking isnt about aggro here, its about timed taunts.

Yeah, I don't think he was worrying about threat too much for this fight, probably because he was busy making sure everyone else was doing things right, he had like 4 people above him on threat at one point, but as long as they stayed ~100 - ~130% threat above him he keeps aggro.

We were 2 seconds off on this Hard mode:( In other attempts where I(mage) did not get lucky with recieveing the storm power buff I was around 8-9k dps. On our "close" attempt I got good storm power buffs in haste beams and was at 15k dps. Buff basically determines if you are at the top of the dps charts or mid.

Typical. He says he can do something but when you ask for proof, he pretends like he just doesn't care enough about it. Assuming you have a Frost Aura/Totem for Hodir. you will still get hit for around 30k each hit. The only way you could live is if you have a Discipline Preist or a Pally using their abilities to prevent as much damage. Healers would have a hard time keeping you up as the raid also takes alot of damage. Bottom line: Quit being lazy and get some Frost Resist Gear. It's not hard.

There will be no way of getting out of novas without it impeding on a healer or dps, except for gnomes or humans with their racials. The best thing to do would be to get a priest to mass dispel the melee in order to free them as they are the most susceptible to this damage.

I think he told it in the original Hodir video. If I remember right, he told tank and/or all others to take at least three peaces of frost resist gear while still keeping tank defense capped.

You won't believe how hard it really is. The actual application of it is in the sense you're speaking - easy. But the journey there? The actual knowledge to become fine tuned at your class, it's apparently harder than you think.

If you don't believe me, go pug something sometime and look at recount. The amount of people even with epics who can't pierce 3k dps is astonishing.

10mans and 25mans are about the same level of difficulty until you get to the hard modes, then 25man is way WAY harder. I mean just look at Algalon, Ensidia had him on farm for 10 man and it was still 3 more weeks before they got him on 25.

Sure, 25 man bosses are harder, but that's for a good reason.

If ONE player were to die in a 10 man encounter that's practicaly the equivilent of losing 3-4 people in a 25 man (and the more important roles may even count more twards this).

This is mainly why I entirely skipped 10 man naxx and later uld, they're just too damned hard :P
