  • 3:29 you got a buddy riding with you?

  • @pbmaniac51 nevermind, didnt finish watching the video lol

  • lol that caught me off guard

  • I don't think you need to clutch in when shifting up. Some people say it's better?

  • @dkfa You should always use the clutch when changing gears up or down. You may get away with not doing it from time to time, but it's certainly not doing your bike any favors in the long run. The clutch lever is there to protect the life of your clutch.

  • i was geting 7 seconds on 0-60

  • maybe my small size will finally come in handy..5'3" and 115lbs haha. gonna jockey my ninja to 60mph!!

  • Did you get rid of this bike for your new one?

  • i can do it in 6 sec. you need to release the clutch faster, and you need to quick-shift the gears.

you do that by let go of the gas handle and shift without using the clutch and then crank up the gas handle again right after the shift.

  • @EchoNatek did i say 6... sorry i meant 6½. but still fast for a 250cc bike.

  • A motorcycle tester in Holland did 0-60 in about 6 seconds, he's alot lighter though.

  • i veiwed your clutching technique in your mirro there, and i just want to look out for you, but as you progress as a rider and purchase a bigger bike (say, a 650) that technique of quick releaseing or "poping" will cause some problems for you. Just trying to look out for you, as this a mistake i made with my first bike. Ride safe.

  • Just a weird day, people driving strange and cars sitting still in turn lanes with their signal on.

  • i'm like 5'10-11, about 69-75kg, will this bike be good enough for me?

  • had a brand new 250r for one month..fun for about 30 feet, lost money but got a deal on a 900, to avoid this problem buy the 600 or 650, no question

  • Where do you place your camera (gopro?) and how do you get such good audio?

  • 2:40 what the hell is this like a maximum force security? i seriously lold

  • Is this bike maneuverable in town with traffic?

  • @shonor6 250s are very light ( in "lightweight" sport bike class :P) so it only makes sense that they are much more maneuverable than say a 1400cc GSXR. These things can turn on a dime but also keep in mind that on freeway speeds with high winds these bikes aren't the best.

  • @shonor6 This is absolutely the best bike to maneuver around in traffic, the parallel twin gives it that extra power

  • I'm 6ft and 215. I was looking into buying this motorcycle... Should I? I'm really new to them..

  • This bike is fun to zip around in the city and as a basic commuter around town with some highway ability. you need to ask what kind of riding you will do. are you mostly muscle? average? fat? in terms of power this bike will move you just fine. In terms ofheight 6 ft is ok. if this is your first bike then all the better, but considering your size, a 500 or 650 will be better for you.

  • @freespadersuggs also, make no mistake, the 250 is powerful BUT, it still "looks" a little faster than it really is, if that makes any sense.

  • @CodeCXF You will wanna start on a 600cc bike man. 250 for your size may be a bit lackluster for you. I am your same size and i started with a R6 and it was a great learner bike. than I wqent up to a R1 when I improved.

  • @MrBLombardi you are a squid. An R6, a starter bike huh?

  • @johnpcmt it depends on riding skill and maturity....my starter is gunna be my dads xr650l when he gets his chopper next year

  • @Nascarrr48. Precisely, skill. By definition, riding skill requires experience, you certainly do not become a proficient rider after following a course or two. And if you have experience and the skill, then effectively the 600/650 whatever is not your first bike. Let's not misguide the people out there who want to buy their first bike. A 600cc racer is NOT a smart choice. Its nigh-suicidal. Visit m13online for the rationale. Ride safe.

  • @johnpcmt i can agreee with that..but if they drove a dirtbike or moped as a kid..then it doesnt matter what size bike..they would most likely have a generel advantage over the other guy..but like you said..anyone that has no riding skill/experience/maturity should get a 250..im ustue gunning it on my moped just to keep up with people..so im going to have to take it easy with the clutch and throttle until i get ustue the change in speed but i should be able to get the hang of it in a week or two

  • @Nascarrr48 exacly cuz im getting a katana 600 as MY first bike thier not suicidal in my opinion. but i say u can crash and die on anysize bike its just of mature of practice make perfect and alway always respect your bike, your riding skills and the road!

  • Duude I love your camera and the scenery where you live. I just got a 2012 ninja 250 (black/yellow) 2 days ago and am a new rider as well. I live in Las Vegas, NV and its intense driving here.. kinda intimidating. I love your streets though. They are so nice. I subscribed too.

  • BLINKERS.

  • What kind of bike is your buddy riding? Is his a 250 as well?

  • @Nifuer "Hey man, let's rac-

    .... okay :("

  • I've been practising with this bike for a few weeks now and I love it :) I only just took out on the road yesterday and holy crap she flyes :O definitily surprised for sure :) though I do have to admit I do only weigh 60KG which is the equivilent of 130 pounds ^^ what kind of 0-60 times do you think I can get with this bike being as light as I am? I have a full Leo vince exhaust system on it so far I intend putting a K&N on it soon. I have the FI black 2011 model also :D

  • 01:45 Power of Motorcycle ... everybody let u go first lollll

  • would you consider this the perfect starter bike?

  • i have a suggestion for your take off i know it sounds crazy but open it up then let out the clutch but do it slow enough so that you dont throw yourself off your bike and when you shift dont go 12and1/2 go 13 that way you have a maximum rpm for the next gear

  • like @49radicalbmxer at the bottom you cant just hop on a bike and go you need experience wich i have i've been riding since i was 4 i had a 50cc suzuki with training wheels or maybe it was a little bigger

  • hey man i love your video's there hilarious but i was just wondering if the ninja 250 is good for first time riders im only 14 but i run klx 250's the fastest i've gone (not on the klx 250) is about 70 mph on my friends honda (dont know what size) but when i get my car drivers licsence im thinnking about getting my bike lisence and was just wondering where to start( haha random i know) but my dad wants me to start on a honda motard 125 he says the 250 is to fast yet the motard will go 80 to90mph

  • Hahaha,, you guys crack me up. Good video though. I am thinking about buying this bike for my girlfriend soon since it will be her first sports bike. I was looking at a ninja 400 as well but think it still might be a tad much. but better for resale value or that she would get bored of a 250 with lack of power or speed but you guys show that these have a bit of go in them still. How is the turning ability at speeds? is it stable? the front en looks very light , wondering about speed wobble.

  • @RETICS1 in terms of power and speed and your gf getting bored of the bike see my comment above. in terms of turning power, for perhaps your purposes, then the bike is an incredible machine for this as well. i have onwed a 250 and 650 and on the 650 I felt at turns, no matter the speed felt I was pushed out constantly at centrifugal force. ON the 250 because it is a smaller bike the turning radius is shorter and in traffic, can be that much better in cutting corners. the 250 is a great bike

  • @freespadersuggs there is a balance of power to turning ratio and because the ninja 250 runs on parallel twin you still have a lot of power with a short turning radius. a lot of peopel out there, mostly kids and teenagers, don't realize how great this motrocycle is , which is a shame. a large numer of first time buyers buy this bike b/c it looks cool, or want a big bike styling, and ignore what this bike has to offer.

  • @freespadersuggs Thanks for the info,, maybe I can get her off my RSV4 now lol I want to buy this as a first bike but dot want her to get bored of it.

  • you make great videos. definitely one of my favorite vloggers. keep it up man.

  • Hey ramekin I freakin love your videos I've been watching for a while now, and I wanna start riding. I know the 250 Ninja is your first bike, so would you recommend it as a first bike to someone else? I'm about 6'1" 165 lbs. I've been looking at used 07-09 250 Ninjas for around 3 grand, should I go for it? Thanks man, awesome vids.

  • Do you think it'd be a good idea if I took a 250 onto the highway for daily commute, 10-15 minutes two times a day?

  • @neovengian sure, why not?

  • @iamramekin Eh, just been reading around how some say it'd be better to commute with a 500-650cc bike since going at that 60-70mph speed. I just wasn't sure if I wanted to start out with a 250 or a 600. I'm never going to leave town with it, so just weighing my options.

  • @iamramekin The 250's are an absolute BLAST to ride around in the city and sometimes highways because you can really give it gas and ride the bike to max potential and have a good time on this bike. it has a lot to offer and you can have fun without risking death lol. however 10-15 minutes on highway is actually a commute and while the 250 can handle the highway and speeds fine, you may be more comfortable on a 650r, if you can afford it. for your purposes of riding on thie highway 650 better

  • @freespadersuggs 250 can cruise at 65-75mph fine and you will be rather comfortable because the ergos on 250 is still considered sport and not a ss. so it should be fine, but the 650's are going to be better to rack up highway miles. but if I had a reliable car, and only needed the ninja 250 once or twice a week for highway riding, it would be a close call. i've ridden both, the 250 is a ton of fun, which is what I enjoy about it most

  • @neovengian Believe it or not i take my 50cc on the motorway (3 lanes) to college everyday and it goes about 50mph so its not a problem on a 250cc.. :)

  • @Nifuer you can see it pulling up in the mirror...

  • lol at 60 in a 40:P

  • i wish i was tall enough for a zx6r =[

  • the blue bike???

  • i have a ? ur are pretty much the same size as i am so why didnt you go for a 600

  • I just got in the biggest argument/fight ever with my parents last night. I really fucking want a motorcycle (ninja 250). I'm 16 and have my drivers license. I would be paying for it all by myself. They say no, because its too dangerous. What can I say to help convince them to saying yes?

  • @49RadicalBmxer nothing, they're right. you havent even been driving for a year yet. I dont have a bike, im 19 myself, and ive have only rode them a few times but you really need to be an experienced driver before you jump into something like a bike. its easy enough to get killed in a car at 16. Sorry

  • @49RadicalBmxer paying for it in cash???... go buy it right now. If you're trying to finance it...good luck you need a co signer A.K.A your parents....But remember their's insurance every month (80 dollars maybe less for some coverage or pay like 20 for nothing but the basics) and at least 500-600 dollars for some riding gear. I'm 16 almost 17 myself and waiting for another 500 to come my way so I can go get it. What r they gonna do?? pick it up and throw it out... i think not haha

  • if im 40 pounds lighter than you, how much faster do you think it'll accelerate?

  • 5:00 is by far the funniest cager I have seen.

  • @Nifuer That was freaking creepy!!!

  • I LOVE MOTORCYCLES. AT RED LIGHTS THE VIBRATIONS FEEL SO AWESOME ON MY COUTTER

  • @degrasi135790 hahaha. why do you think guys love to buy motorcycles and then love when the girls wanna ride the motorcycle? cause the motorcycle makes the girl wanna ride them^.^

  • are you guys riding the same bike?

  • You don't need to use the clutch at all when shifting UP, It's actually easier on the bike when you're accelerating hard, but you DO when you shift DOWN

  • you like red ehh

  • feather the clutch :)

  • Great vid!! when i take of with more than 8k rpm with my aprilia rs 125 my back tire skids a little :D

  • @Nifuer did u not watch the whole video?

  • on your take-off, drop the clutch quicker and lean into the acceleration so it doesnt pop up.

take your time with it, make sure your comfortable enough to do it and not lose control of the front wheel.

  • high rpm clutch release(slowly at first), and lean forward if your worried about lifting the front. you probably already know this after almost a year but w.e.

  • You know where I think you can improve?

    . . . ON THE TRACK ;D

  • SPEED LIMIT 40 :-P

  • You mentioned the cops. Is there a way to wire up a radar on your bike?

  • @zooropa84 yeah, you can get them of sites, not all of them are legal, but you can get them :) there like radars basically

  • Nice bike, although any two stroke 125cc ownes it. :)

  • Your about , as tall as me and i was wondering , do you feel to big for the bike , thanks ?

  • Comment removed

  • do you find that the bike is to small for you? 6'1 is pretty tall for the bike from what i have been hearing.

  • @TruAzn100 hey i was looking at it. for mods you can add hayabausa end links: raise the rear 2". 150/70-17 tire will raise the rear 0.55" 120/70-17 will also raise the front 0.25". then you can get rear set adjusters and different pegs that actually bend down an inch.

  • Wow, i'm very impressed by the acceleration of this bike. I've been trying to decide between the 250 and 650, but seeing this has made my discussion for the 250 as my first bike. I'm just an inch taller than you and the same weight, so this make me real happy haha

  • Should i buy one for college to get around cheaper, because i don't want a moped.

  • You kept putting your right turn signal on when making a left :P

  • @GarrettLD50 there is only one lamp for the turn signals. it flashes for both left and right turns.

  • @maviam11 Oh, that's silly.

  • "whoa big corner thats what you get when your looking at your speedometer" not being funny, that was NOT a big corner lolol

  • Ur forever forgetting to clear ur signal:P

  • this is one nice motorcycle video first time I come across one that involve two person in it very nice and something different for a change

  • Release clutch slowly at about 9k rpm then you will have a much more powerful launch

  • Nice try and ride my friend!!! But you need more exercise on downshifting, the gears has got very loud noise... :)

  • i have a dr350 and with me being a big guy i can run about 85 with my gear setup maybe more i didnt know people still brought 250's for a first bike i thought 600's were starters

  • @Tev365 people consider 250-500 a starter class, but enough people go out and buy 600-650s for their first bike that others around them don't really know, moving on.. i've also got a dr350 as well, what year is yours? :P (93 here, street model)

  • @VremGO i have a 98 350 and a 91 350se with 425 big bore kit

  • I felt the same power riding the Fury 125, the underbone version of the Kawasaki Ninja. The Fury is only 125cc of course so it has half the power of the Ninja but still I felt it.

  • where is the fuel gauge?

  • @Nifuer Holy shit lol that is tripping me out hahahahahaahahahaaha

  • Not sure if this has been asked already or not but there are quite a few pages of comments. What kind of setup are you using for recording video and audio?

  • can this 250 be taken on an interstate?

  • @deejay1214 The bike has no problems getting up to about 90. Anything past that, and you're in trouble. So, depending on the speed of the interstates near you, that will answer your question for ya.

  • @iamramekin mph or km/h? I am British but moving to Canada soon - I am a novice rider and will be buying this bike over there!

  • lol 250 0-60 8 secs 125 0-60 in 16 secs half power exactly :D

  • I am 6'6 and 280 pounds. I do not think a 250 is a good starter bike for me.

  • @Duitslond it is fine for you . If you get a supersport 600 you will be more hounched over and the bike will be effectively smaller than the ninja 250 . your weight being an issue is negligible, don't believe all this usa propaganda where you should buy a 600 or a liter bike. I learned on a bike that was 1100cc that is dumb.I am 6ft 3 221lbs.

  • Comment removed

  • does it have suspension?

  • @HamadHHAG duhhhh

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • On professional reviews they claim the bikes 0-60 is 7.7 seconds so you did pretty well for a 4 month rider =)

  • ive watched about 3 motorcycle blog things and by far this guy is the most entertaining

  • I just love how you start your 0 - 60 climb RIGHT NEXT TO the 40 speed limit sign... lol. outlaw :D

  • km/h?

  • if you didn't clutch between every gear your 0-60 time would be much better, motorcycles aren't like cars they don't have to be clutched between gears, they are made to shift without the clutch, i have a few mods to my 250 and i don't clutch and my 0-60 is closer to 5 secs

  • @redjay412 If the clutch wasn't needed then they wouldn't put it on the bike. Keep not using your clutch and get back to me when you have to replace broken parts. Only racers powershift and don't use the clutch because they replace the transmission all the time and don't have to make them last thousands of miles.

  • @wasdare32 how long have you been riding?? your gonna wear out the clutch if you clutch between every single gear, the clutch is there for 1st gear primarily, not to say that theres not other situations that a clutch can be used but I've never grinded a gear from shifting like this, i do not know any riders that use the clutch between every gear, motorcycles are not made to be clutched between every gear like cars are

  • @redjay412 I haven't been riding long, but experience doesn't equal knowledge. Using the clutch will wear out the CLUTCH, but not using it will wear out the TRANSMISSION. A clutch is much much cheaper to repair than a transmission. The gears will be under more stress without the clutch. Sorry, but I use all included parts when I ride.

  • @wasdare32

A sequential transmission is a type of transmission used on motorcycles. A true sequential transmission will very often use dog clutch engagement rather than the more usual H-pattern road car gearbox. Engagement using dogs only requires a very brief interruption of engine torque to complete a shift into any adjacent gear. This allows shifting between gears without the use of the clutch. The clutch would normally be used only for standin starts.

  • I liked - "We're not supposed to do a U-Turn... So do you want to do a U-Turn?"

That's the way to stick it to the man! :)

  • 3:28

  • It weighs like 40 ib's less than a Suzuki GSXR750

How is being blown around a problem?

  • @GarrettGantt for an inexperienced rider. You get used to it.

  • @GarrettGantt I have an '06 250. I made the mistake of not checking the weather before hopping on the highway. 40-60mph crosswinds. Tank bag almost flew off. Chop from semi trucks was a nightmare. I've had 10+ close calls, including a retard slamming on his brakes and forcing me to lock up, lifting the rear wheel up. That wasn't half as bad as dealing with strong crosswinds. Even with 10k under my belt, I wasn't ready for it. Needless to say, I got off the highway on the next exit.

  • He might try power shifting, keep the revs up

  • oh nvm someone already said that.

  • 3:27!! another bike is right there! wtf!!

  • @2White2Fight He probably had a buddy with him incase something happened, or just for fun

  • could you show how hard/easy it is to do a wheelie on a 250 ninja

  • thnx 4 the reply.... I was lookin 4 it and found one called #11 808 720p here in Youtube.

  • how do U film this on a bike.

  • @explorehunter : Helmet cam. They're not very expensive.

  • ur friend is weird

  • Where do you live?

  • Hi, how much do you pay for insurance on the ninja 250 and at what age? I'm planning on getting one, but I'm currently also a student.

  • @xkakashix12 I'm 18 and ride a Ninja 250. I have minimum coverage from Progressive and it is 130 for the year. Full coverage would be around 350. I live in MA if that matters.

  • @whothaplaya interesting. I'm 17 and minimum for a Genesis Coupe would costs me well over $5000 a year, so I was wondering if motorcycle insurance was simply cheaper. I live in CA.

  • @xkakashix12 Yes it's far cheaper. I even quoted a 2011 GSXR-1000 just for kicks and for full coverage it would be around 1800 and for minimum 750. I had a 95 Nissan Altima and Minimum coverage on that was 2200 and if I wanted full coverage around 3400.

  • @whothaplaya i'm sure my parents will not help me finance a motorcycle or motorcycle insurance, so hopefully $4000 will get me a used 250r plus insurance.

  • @xkakashix12 You should be able to. I found my 2009 Ninja with 1700 miles on it for 2800.

  • @whothaplaya average price I'm seeing around my area is $3200. Hopefully that goes down with lowballing and time..

  • obviously if you gave it like 6-7k revvs on the start and slowly let the clutch go while giving it full throttle it would take off a bit quicker...not that i condone that sort of riding on public roads obviously, but give it a go, do some wheelies and stoppies and burn outs... i once heard the ability to stoppie could save your life...

  • Freakin autocorrect...

  • my*

  • I'm 18, y dad says as long as I live underbid roof then I can't get one. But someone tell me the safety behind this and other positives besides the gas milage. People at my school have nice cars and all, but no one has a motorcycle. I'd really love to learn how to ride.

  • @ios254 I feel the sane way.

  • WHAT BIKE YOUR FRIEND RIDING ON?

  • @MarkieBhoy17 ninja 250

  • @borninusa98 howd you know?

  • @MarkieBhoy17 he has a yt channel called mistershakie

  • you just got yourself another sub, i like the fact that you're a new rider like myself... been riding for a little over a year now, got my ninja back in august last year...

    ride safe, man...

  • When this bike is revved up it sound like a food blender lol

  • Can you show the handling? I commute round some really windy roads and am very temped by this bike. It's quick, cheap to run and more than likely handles better than a 600. So yeah, handling would be a great thing to see, thanks

  • @potnoodles90 the bike handles great. It does get its ass kicked by wind though. The more experienced I got, the less of a problem wind was for me.

  • @iamramekin ah I can relate to that. I ride a tiny 125 cruiser. Here in Scotland it was around 100mph winds and ice, I went round a corner on my way home and i litterally couldnt turn i had to stop! :P my 125 has now had it, the engine compression is so low. so i'm getting shot.

im going for a different approach, the more christmas turkey the less of a problem it is haha

  • @potnoodles90 I have a 250 myself and once u get more experienced...you know how to handle the wind. Because the back tire on a 250 is a lot thinner, the wind can push it around more...simple aerodynamics.

  • @PlatinumRomance true, would be good if you could mod it and fit a 600's rear tyre.

  • @potnoodles90 That would be awesome!

  • Oh man I cant wait to get this bike I just sold my truck and getting a 2009 250 so im excited. Hey where do you live those roads look so fun to drive. I freaking live in miami :/

  • @venomf0 seriously!! i live in Chicago and would LOVE to have roads like these.

  • to be honest i love your videos and the roads you drive on, you suggest i get a 250 for my first bike or a 600

  • @knash92293 250. Its much smaller and forgiving for a new rider.

  • What city is that???
