It's a bit of a shame that this video was edited the way it was. Some of the interview segments are so chopped up that they don't seem to make much sense. The companies putting out videos like this weren't concerned with intelligence at the time. Still, very cool to see. I think I wore out my VHS tape of this, I watched it so much, lol :)

Thought I give you an update on Tony Richards. We never did finish the new DellaVella cd. Every once in awhile I will hear from Tony. But the good news is I just released a single called Interstate for download. And it is the only recorded tune release of Tony since he left the band W.A.S.P here is the link for it. cdbaby.com/cd/DellaVella1
Apparently, Blackie hasn't heard players like Billy Sheehan, Victor Wooten, John Entwistle, John Deacon, Jaco Pastorius, etc. Otherwise, he wouldn't call the bass a "tool of ignorance", as he so aptly put it.
@6672rock or Steve Harris which he is one of the best bassist in the heavy metal and kiss genes simmons as well and his friend nikki sixx and he is still bass and those guys are the founders of there bands and let me say something those guys dont sing but they write lyrics and people know the bass for their work and talent blackie doesnt understand that not only he is bass and writes lyrics but also he sings and the singer is the frontman of the band no matter what

But perhaps the role of bass isn't necessarily meant to be over the top and flashy, but to play to suit the music.:)
I think he just liked to say things that would piss people off and get the band talked about..lol
