I feel you, Vivalicious! I know you have some videos on how you take care of your hair. Your hair is really long! I get that alot of that "wig" talk and they are totally jealous of the curls I create with no heat. They cannot believe and will not believe it they try to uncover their own beauty!

OMGOSH I am watching this video for the first time today. I had my 14 year old daughter watch it with me and we both could not believe what you were saying. But then those SAME *back to natural* females will dye their hair blonde which damages the hair as well. Relaxed or natural, hair will break off if not properly cared for. Haven't folks seen non relaxed women with short, dull & damaged hair. I have.
It's like you got all these bright, bold colors competing for attention that screams at people to look at you. Then, if whatever you're wearing is colorful, it really makes you look like a walking, talking neon sign. I just don't get it with people belng so loud and silently obnoxious for no reason than just to be. Like glorified tattoos and piercings. I want to vomit when I'm in a store and being rung out by a cashier constantly flicking their tongue ring. It's just gross and NOT cute.

@SimbaWM Yes. We need to let our hair chill out a bit. I know I can go through a harsh "hair manipulating" session, such as flat ironing. When that is done, I give my hair a rest. Example, I re-flat ironed my hair yesterday, and today I've been keeping my hair wrapped. I placed a cute little hat on to protect my hair as I went about my day. Chile, a cute hat with some nice earrings will look grand! :-)

Tell people what they want to hear, and they will leave you alone. I learned that a long time ago. One lady at my job kept asking me if i was mixed, and I told her the truth - which was no! I kept getting the same question until I told her yes- that I was mixed and I invented something and told her. Her response was "I knew it! I knew it! I just knew you were mixed. People will believe what they want to believe.
Damn it, I knew you looked familiar but I couldn't place you for anything until you said Sally's. I remember I asked you the same question (scenerio #1, of course) about a couple of months ago. You were polite and we talked a couple of minutes. I personally was blown away by your hair. The color is awesome and the bigginess of it, is overwhelming. I love you girl, I feel your frustration. I've gotten the whole "weave" thing, and I think it has to do with my complexion. I'm a deep brown, and many people believe that blks cannot grow long hair.smh. In your case, it may have to do more with the color of your hair that gives people the "wig" vibe. we have been permed and pressed since we were young and don't know what our hair looks. told our hair was horrile and unmanagable.due to improper styling method many experience damage and have hair breakage and short hair . we need to realize with proper care our hair can be managed and can grow to longer lengths.we r mixed (from slavery) so it's not necessary to ask someone that. i guess they mean do u have a parent of another race if u say no they still unsatisfied they want a genealogy tree.

people ask me all the time if my hair is fake and still dont believe me...i sometimes flat iron my hair.. but im currently 1 year and 5 months transitioning so i do alot of braid outs and people think its a wig when i show them or let them touch my scalp they look confused.. and my hair when flat irons is a little bit longer than bra strap length.. get video!!

I am 33years old married with a 12 yearold son, and when I went to family function last week my cousin, said oh i love your hair and then he proceeded wrestle my hair with both hands like i was a little boy. @SimbaWM Yes. We need to let our hair chill out a bit. I know I can go through a harsh "hair manipulating" session, such as flat ironing. When that is done, I give my hair a rest. Example, I re-flat ironed my hair yesterday, and today I've been keeping my hair wrapped. I placed a cute little hat on to protect my hair as I went about my day. Chile, a cute hat with some nice earrings will look grand! :-)

Tell people what they want to hear, and they will leave you alone. I learned that a long time ago. One lady at my job kept asking me if i was mixed, and I told her the truth - which was no! I kept getting the same question until I told her yes- that I was mixed and I invented something and told her. Her response was "I knew it! I knew it! I just knew you were mixed. People will believe what they want to believe.

Damn it, I knew you looked familiar but I couldn't place you for anything until you said Sally's. I remember I asked you the same question (scenerio #1, of course) about a couple of months ago. You were polite and we talked a couple of minutes. I personally was blown away by your hair. The color is awesome and the bigginess of it, is overwhelming. I had to do a double take myself because it was so awesome but to say out loud that it HAS to be a wig is just rude and country.

I love you girl, I feel your frustration. I've gotten the whole "weave" thing, and I think it has to do with my complexion. I'm a deep brown, and many people believe that blks cannot grow long hair.smh. In your case, it may have to do more with the color of your hair that gives people the "wig" vibe. Some people just cant grasp the concept of anything outside of what they believe to be true. Stay positive and God bless you ;-)
