i think in the context of what happened here the guy didn't deserve punishment at all. he's a bit of a tool for letting himself get in that situation but the law he broke is in place to stop adults abusing children.. in this circumstance i think it is definitely extenuating circumstances since he was not preying on a minor, she was preying on him. at 13 years old people are smart enough to know that lying about your age and picking up guys on the internet is not a smart thing to do.

i think in the context of what happened here the guy didn't deserve punishment at all. he's a bit of a tool for letting himself get in that situation but the law he broke is in place to stop adults abusing children.. in this circumstance i think it is definitely extenuating circumstances since he was not preying on a minor, she was preying on him. at 13 years old people are smart enough to know that lying about your age and picking up guys on the internet is not a smart thing to do.

Mature beyond her years, she always hung out with the "adults", because she was so smart and witty, that she could actually keep up, and, in fact, brought a good deal to any conversation. She dated older boys, and even men...not because she wanted to draw them into anything kinky, but because she was so mature that boys her age were out of the question. Not the same as this girl, but proof that some 13 yr olds can look/act 19.
