You'll notice I didn't walk thru the scene, I went around and got both sides. You show up in front of the fire building and you might have physical contact, this being NYC after all.
It was a relatively small fire, just the mattress, but with a guy overcome but the smoke, so it was a small scene and easily walked around. Plus I'm allowed to go up to the line.
I remember this day fuckin shit wasted my time I couldn't cross the street every time I was about to cross the street a firetruck came. I had to take a long way home.
I lost the XD card with an awesome pedestrian struck job on it, while I was taping a no no by NYPD in Central Park, so no more movies until I get a card or a new camera. The screen is cracked and I can't see what I'm doing.
Only because I did it for 25 years do I not need the screen (usually)
That's impressive that they just let you walk through the scene. That would never be allowed on my department.

Just curious, is that EMS in the tan turnouts? If so, why do they have them?
raida357 3 years ago

RadioReporter01 3 years ago

Cool! It's nice to see EMS provided more than just a minimum amount of equipment.

10-45 person down or trapped
JACKHAMMER82A1 3 years ago
10-45 code one : Dead
10-45 code two: injured, likely to die
10-45 code three: Injured but not life threatening.
Not trapped. Have to get them out before they can give a 10-45 signal. I wrote the book.
