There are three paths to get to Sector X, and 5 paths from sector X to game end.

There are three paths to get to Solar, and 2 paths from Solar to game end.

There is one path to Zoness, and 4 paths from Zoness to game end.

That's a total of 25 possible paths.

I think the path you mentioned has the most points of any path. I've gotten over 1850 on it.

Beat the Solar stage and go to the next planet and just before you beat the boss at the planet after Solar you need to ][ activate 8 switches and will imedeiatly take you to area 6

Or you could just go completely through the hard route and save Great Fox in Sector Z and it'll take you to Area 6.

WHAHAHAH are you serious? you did it wrong all these years, you kept destroying the fake andross. you need to either reach venom over the hard path (aquas -> zoness -> sector z, don't let missiles through) or accomplish the mission on macbeth (activate the switcher and manipulate the rails, funniest shit ever) or reach the warp level at sector x (NOT easy) then you can go to area 6. after you completed area 6 and venom, you'll face the REAL andross. good luck.

We're you using the PAL version of this game or a damaged ROM, because when the ships take damage, they blink blue, which I think is caused by a bad file or a different version.

No, I used the original US release of this game on the N64.

The blue blinking you're referring to is an emulation difference in the Virtual Console version of the game.

The VC version has quite a few emulation differences compared to the original release, like Solar for instance. That level is a very bright red in the N64 release, while in the VC version, it's a dull, faded yellow/red-ish color.
