i have a alienware m15x for nearly 2 yrs now and it never gave me trouble i never even got a virus or do any manual virus scans or checks the computer is soo fast to and i never added any upgrades to it and the graphics on it is better than my Samsung lcd tv

Guys, this is an extremely fragile computer. Clean it with a very smooth cloth every day which only takes 15 seconds(if done neatly). I also recommend keeping the graphics at te second highest setting for amazing battery lige(compared ti ultra high settings)

@badge37 It's not too bad. A bigger deal is the amount of heat it puts out, which can hurt your hand (and/or make it sweaty) if you're using the built-in keyboard on the plane or someplace.

@hnm4321 a gaming pc will always be more powerful. the m11x wont, but an actual gaming pc is. it may be cheap at first, but when a new console comes out, you have to dish out hundreds for a new console. with a pc, just get a new video card, usally though, you wont have to.

i added 4 gb ram, a dvd rom drive, a bigger hard drive, and a tactx mouse, and the price was $1104. Sadly though, the only processor upgrade just gives it an extra mb of cache. So the processor stays at 1.3 ghz. also non upgraded it comes with built in wireless.

don't forget that the C2D has a new more powerful design than the older pentium. The pentium architechture is quite old.

@Nettacki because the more MB cache you have the less the motherboard has to be used and the motherboard is considered a bottleneck in PC performance. Just google it if you want a more technical explanation

A lot of gamers these days use Steam and Xfire's down loadable game stores to buy and play our games, much faster and more convenience than discs. (I myself included)

Plus, why not simply buy an external disc drive?
