  • @Arthos455 Yeah even with the UNSC spamming numbers the covenant 1 CCS battlecrusier...no just a mere corvet or destroyer can take out probably half a quarter of a UNSC fleet. At most half of a UNSC fleet before dieing due to too many MAC gun hits or nukes. Though if the Covi fleet was in range of some defense platforms and a huge fleet of UNSC ships, they may have a chance of winning but they will most definetly sustain major loses in between the combat.

  • @FearLancer2 Excuse me? A CCS BattleCruider would be annihalated if it met 6 Frigates, a CCS Battlecruiser would be toasted by 2 Marathon class cruisers.

  • @TBEClanMovies I know i exagerated those numbers its more like a group of CCS battlecruisers and the Assualt carriers they are bound the have as well

  • @FearLancer2 5 CCS Battle Cruiser and an Assault Carrier would probably need to be matched by around 8 Marathons, 12 Frigates and a Bunch of Battle Ships.

  • @FearLancer2 Nothing to do with luck, if 6 Marathons engaged the Assault Carrier with all of the BattleShips (There were few at the battle of earth, infact there were over 150 at Reach alone) then the Carrier would be done for upon recieving the MAC fire, if you then placed 3 frigates to each CCS ship and had 2 Marathons provide fire support you would have it covered easily. This is without the use of adanced tactics or SHIVA Nukes.

  • @178thbattlegroup How about no? The ratio on a CCS battlecruiser is 3 > 1 with 3 Frigates and even then it's luck at best if you win. An assault carrier would toast 4 Marathons.

  • @178thbattlegroup MAC's are not guaranteed to hit and a Assault Carrier is 17,540 ft ship that uses Plasma Guided weapons and it has shields that are very powerful, It also has energy projecters that can pierce a UNSC ship like a knife ripping through Paper. Need i remind you of Halo 3 where the elite's Assault Carrier took down 3 Brute assault carriers? It also has boarding ships and well... Look what happend to the POA.

It could take much more of a beating than most any other class vessel in the UNSC due to the honey-combed Titanium-A gridwork within the interior. Halcyon-class cruisers were made to last. the only reason production stopped was that it was getting too expensive

  • @killer13324 Wrong, Halcyon Class Cruisers were extremely weak and Underpowered, They were a Laughing stock within the UNSC and Cortana even said this in the books. Halcyon Class Cuisers were Cheaper than Marathon Class Cruisers which was their replacement which Had Superior Armour and Weapons. The only Halcyon Class Cruisers to ever do well were Specially Modified ones like the POA. A Marathon has 191cm Titanium-A Battle Plate Armour where as a Halcyon Has Les and can only take 5 plasma rounds.

  • @killer13324 The Modified ones could take a Beating, The Average Halcyon Took 5 Plasma Torpedo's then it became so Crippled it was Useless, Marathons have been known to survive 8+ Plasma Torpedo's... Their Production also got stopped as they were inferior to Marathon Class Cruisers which cost roughly the Same, Don't compare the Overall performance of one ship to the Entire type of that same ship.

  • @TBEClanMovies no it wasn't a super carrier. it was an assault carrier. and in the books the UNSC super macs only needed 1 hit, to shatter the CCS battlecruisers and carriers.

    it didnt take them out, bombs they planted on them when they boarded did. of course covenant can take out UNSC. but in the case of firing at the same time. 4 cruisers on 1 assault carrier. the carrier would get blown to hell by the MAC fire.

  • @178thbattlegroup I correct myself, you are right i messed the words up it was an Assault carrier. But you are going off of the basis that the MAC's all hit from a Marathon? And correct me if i am wrong Marathons only fire normal Mac's not SMAC's you tool! Need i show you the cutscene where an Assault Carrier in Halo 2 uses its Projector beam and kills a Marathon in 1 hit? That does not include Plasma Torpedo's, Boarding ships etc etc.

Energy Projectors can fire way outside of the Range of the UNSC and slaughter UNSC ships in one shot tearing them like paper.

  • @178thbattlegroup I am not going solely off of the games but the example of Halo 2 is perfectly Canon, Asault Carriers were 4 times bigger than Marathon's and Toasted them many many times!! All it takes is 1 Enery Projector shot to bring down a Marathon and several Plasma Torpedo's which can be Guided unlike UNSC Mac's which do NOT always hit and the covenant can Shoot Missiles and Nukes out of the air and they do alot. They even have a system to warn them about Nuke's coming at the ship.

  • @TBEClanMovies if you want to be realistic and technical. you can take out a stationary or ship moving at a continuous speed and velocity from earth. orbiting Jupiter. pretty easily. especially considering they have AI to do calculations, and the slugs fly at what was 25-60% the speed of light, depending of the type of mac and the generation of mac. the newer 3rd generation macs, like the one on the POA from TFOR for example. can fire 2 times and then a 3rd time using left over energy recaptured

    only like what 8 ships had ACLs for field testing.

    and 1 prototype had the microwave weapon. which was a experimental alternative for the super mac. but that was destroyed when the research outpost was attacked, and most of the data on the weapon was lost.

  • @16piller16lol no they fire 1 round at a time. only the newer 3rd generation macs fire in 3 round intervals. and really they are designed to fire it in 2 round intervals. the reason the POA fired 3 at a time. is because it had new 3rd gen mac AND reactors. its an older ship that was brought back from mothballs, gutted, and upgraded with top of the line late war tech.

  • @16piller16lol the only halcyon-class cruiser to fire 3 round intervals was the pillar of autumn, which was completely refitted with the latest MAC system AND the newest top of the line reactor that they could fit inside of it. not to mention the many other upgrades it recieved in order to allow John's spartan team to take a covie ship

  • @178thbattlegroup the MAC shredder rounds do much more damage than the normal MAC rounds it only takes 1 to weaken the shields significantly, and the second to punch through the weakened shields and go through the ship from nose to ass. and you also have to considter the missiles being fired as well

  • @TBEClanMovies oh thats right you wanted me to correct you if you were wrong. i almost forgot. frigates and destroyers use normal Macs in the 250 ton - 300 ton range. destroyers having 2 macs. cruisers use HEAVY macs 450 tons.. and SUPER MACS fire the MASSIVE 600 ton slug. the platforms at reach were older 1st gen platforms, and fired them at 45% the speed of light. where as the newer platforms around earth could sling them at 60%

  • @178thbattlegroup Super macs use the 3000 ton tungsten slugs and accelerate them to 24-25% of the speed of light. They can fire once every 5 seconds, because they're powered by extremely advanced ground based generators. I haven't heard of different generations and it doesn't say anything in Halopedia or Halo Nation but they may exist. It's also supposed that Carriers or Supercarriers may carry a single SMAC because they're big enough and their power drives are good enough.

  • @SPARTAIN088 is this the same halo pedia and halo nation that claim unsc frigates are only about 370m long or what ever? when unsc longswords are 75m wide 64 long and 13m high, and the books state that a UNSC frigate can carry a total of 12 long swords. 6 on each side of the upper internal hanger bays.explane to me how your suppose to fit 12 or even 6 long swords in a frigate 370 or so meters long?

  • @SPARTAIN088 they did indeed have different generations or upgrades (which i suppose you could call it) of the mac cannons. research and development made improvements to the standard anti capital ship weapon of the UNSC (macs) through out the war. the latest improvement can be read about in the book fall of reach. 1 such cannon was mounted on the pillar of autumn. it could fire 2 times on its own reserves. and with energy recapture technology built into its 3rd gen mac. fire a 3rd time.

  • @178thbattlegroup not to mention the new reactor that didnt need to have coolant fed into it to stay cool. the pillar of autumn also had many other adjustments made to it so it can survive long enough to allow John and his spartan team to infiltrate and capture a covenant ship as per their original mission.

  • @killer13324 yep. it amazes me how little "halo fans" know about the series. i mean look a halo wiki and halo pedia. they say that a frigate is half as long as a halcyon. and that a frigate cant carry long swords. yet in the cole protocol they say that a heavy frigate is capable of carrying up to 12 longswords. 6 on each side. you can see the 6 hanger long hangar bay on the upper middle sides of a frigate.1 hanger row per side.ppl forget that thing are SCALED DOWN to fit into games.

  • @178thbattlegroup i didnt look at those except to find out how many Spartan IIs were alive who have ever put on the armor. and the only spartan II i noticed who actually retired was Maria, who tested the MK VI MJOLNIR armor varient for the master chief

  • @TBEClanMovies it depends on where on the ship those 5 shots hit if they all hit major systems then the ship is crippled, if they mainly broad-sided the ship they can keep fighting depending on the condition of the reactor and weapons systems

  • @TBEClanMovies i looked at the POA's upgrades and refits. none that i saw were made to the armor plating. it had the same armor structure as any halcyon-class cruiser. meaning, if the POA was able to take a beating and keep going, so could it's underpowered, undergunned brethren

  • @TBEClanMovies as far as power and armament yes they were but if they were all refitted with the same power and weapons systems as the PoA, they could trounce the marathon-class cruisers

  • @TBEClanMovies non-modified halcyons had a severe trade-off for armament and power to durability. marathons lacked the bracing structure of the halcyons rendering them easier to destroy in ship-to-ship combat. however, marathons had the weapons and engines to hold their own. the refits to the POA made it equal if not superior to any marathon.

  • @SPARTAIN088 on the fall of reach it says that even carriers werent big enough to carry the super macs but mayb their only super carrier which was also destroyed at reach if you read halo: first strike it may have been big enough but would have made the gun inpractical considering how long it would have taken to charge up

Well a Corvette is a ship and would have been fucked by a Frigate had the Mac Hit it, Or if they hit it with a Shiva Nuke, Spartans did not win space battles for the UNSC. The Pillar of Autumn fired extra-powerful Mac Blasts in 3 Round bursts, It was probably the second Most Deadly ship in the UNSC Fleet along with the UNSC SuperCarrier. The POA "Iced" over 5 ships at the battle of reach so learn what your talking about kid!

  • @Arthos455 not true, a fully armored spatran II was equal in physical strength to the covenant's sangheili [aka elite] warriors. But with the sangheili's overwhelming sense of honor, they were inferior to any Spartan II active in the fight

That plus the chaos caused by the flood around the second halo ring, both sides were fighting on two fronts. If you asked me, humanity wouldve been extinguished from the universe if it werent for their alliance with the sangheili
