  • @DigitalDevilXL

    Go on hatin' !

  • @DigitalDevilXL you're trippin

  • yes yes, big yes (()) a lot, from the first seconds realized that this is something that should be

  • sit behind a drumkit or pick up an instrument

  • @420jaymac This again. Let me educate you. The definition of 'instrument' is "An object or device for producing musical sounds". The SP1200 is an object that allows you to produce musical sounds. Don't assume music has to be made using pre 1980's instruments. This is 2011. Move with the times. If music sounds good to the ear it doesn't matter what device was used to create it whether its pots and pans or a full orchestra. Music is creativity. Create it by any means possible. You understand that?

  • @GV1UK I guess I should of said more in my comment, im all about the sp1200, tr808, MPD18, or any other 'computer'. shit I have an old analog beat machine. producers need samples, but theres many who sample their own work sometimes, can you play a chord on a keyboard? 1, 2 kick & snare? yes exactly its 2011, explore your own musical skill, away from what you've already mastered

  • @420jaymac I see. My bad. There's so much negativity in hip hop that I sometimes feel the need to respond. I can play chords, I study music theory. I play a lot of my stuff in Mixolydian, and Locrian. But, I don't believe that all producers or musicians need to understand anything beyond scales. Jimmy Hendrix is always the classic example. A lot of musicians play well by ear. Personally though, I agree people should explore and develop their musical talent and skill.

  • Nice.

  • Fett altä

  • crap

  • love it !!

  • year switzerland rules!

  • sick

  • keep hip hop live homie ...love it

  • try to do this in the daw..

chances are you will have to fight strong for it not to end up like rigid plastic shit...

that aliasing, that groove, that feel are just sooo hard to get in the box..

  • @daoctopusss you can do all of this in logic. you also dont have to worry about the 10 second sample time.

  • @Eternal56 The computer joints all have their plus'es and positives and endless capabilities but when someone is used to using a SP they make their best music on it. To each his own, but all my favorite beats of all time were done on SP's and MPCs.

  • @Eternal56 There isn't a single processing unit (software/hardware) that can mimic the ring modulation and the 12bit sound that gives the SP1200 it's grittyness. This is a machine from the 80's. The lack of sampling time is what makes the SP1200 what it is. These machines are vintage, and cost a lot to purchase. I paid over £2000 for mine (inc. servicing and repair). These machines are still used today and are still sought after.

  • Very cool. Nice swing to it and great to see two (two!) Sp 1200s side by side.

  • real old school guys!! Look at that:: S950 & SP1200 WHAoOOO!! Respect' bro!!!

  • oh.... just fire!

  • thanks for u answer...exactly the reissue resolved the overheating issue that plagued the 12...i'm searching to buy a sp 1200 reissue...(in my mind i prefer the grey model but i think you have right...the reissue version would be a choice more logical)

  • question: who sounds better, the original sp1200 blue/grey 1987 or the reedition 1993/1997 version black unit...if there is really a difference, sincerely, thanks for your job because your vidéo is very creative, aned excuse for my poor english, thanks again...

  • @lamoureux69 some say there is a little difference. i have both models as well, and sp12. sp12 is the best sounding of the 3. the grey model and the reissue sound quite similar, some would say the greyboy is a bit warmer. the grey machine is much more at risk for machine falure because of the heat generated inside the unit. the reissue resolved the overheating issue that plagued the 12, and the og1200. peace.

  • This is too dope! And props BTW for that Dutchmin - Surrounded Remix. Big Up!
